The platform is great, as is the customer service, and the cost is reasonable. There are lots of lovely homes on offer, but it seems few Europeans want to come to Canada. We've just finalized our first exchange after 6 months' membership, and it's for in 9 months' time.
It seems the site is more geared towards intra-European exchanges and intra-North American exchanges: less so for intercontinental exchanges, which is what we joined for.
Also, the program relies very heavily on Facebook groups - if you're not, or not much, on Facebook you're really disadvantaged.

We have used this platform for home exchanges all over the world and met the nicest people!! We love to share the gifts we have been given in our homes and share them with like minded people. The administrators are the best and are constantly working to make the platform better. 5 ⭐️ stars!!!

Everything has been very positive in my experience with PLU. It is such a friendly community, and all of my interactions with members has been genuine and honest. I've also reached out to support a couple of times, and they have been very helpful. We are looking forward to receiving our second home exchange visitors soon, and are actively planning for France and Italy at the moment. It's such a 'win win' and a brilliant opportunity to make new friends across the world and share homes.

As a new user it's been very challenging to "get in" to the core community. I also had a significant challenge setting up an exchange and based on feedback from Facebook should've established it much differently, the advice given made it sound like I was encouraged to find loopholes to give myself the greatest advantage which added to the confusion.

I love the wonderful PLU community! There are now over 10,000 homes as part of the community and it has enabled us to travel to places and in ways that we could not have imagined before PLU. It goes beyond that though, I have personally made exchanges and have met wonderful people through PLU that I know we will remain friends for life. That is why I just renewed my membership!

The exchange process is easy to follow and easy to understand so makes it very straightforward to use.

People Like Us (PLU) is an exceptional home-exchange community built on trust, warmth, and genuine hospitality. What PLU lacks in sheer numbers, it resoundingly makes up for with top-notch, personable exchanges—its boutique-style approach naturally creates smaller, more personal and meaningful stays. The leadership is attentive to members' feedback and continually works to improve the platform, making PLU even stronger for everyone.

When it works, it can be really great. For example, I got to spend over 3 weeks in Europe last summer -- 2 in Oslo and 8 days in Paris -- at two nice apartments in great areas. Both experiences were lovely. I also met a fellow PLUer in Edinburgh for a drink, even though we did not do an exchange. The sense of community is really nice. I only had 1 negative experience where I felt someone did not treat my home with the proper respect.

Absolutely love exchanging and PLU is such a good friendly way to do it. Weve seen places and met people we otherwise wouldnt. Love how active the community is too!
