Always a good shopping experience.
I returned an expensive pair of Reika trainers. I had not worn them and had the receipt. The woman at customer services could not have been more helpful or cheerful. I have never returned anything before so I was unsure of what their response would be. I go to Palmers every week and have always found the staff cheerful and friendly. When we leave they always thank us and say goodbye. Overall a very pleasant and cheerful experience.
In Albany
In Albany, NZ, Palmers was once a top-notch garden store. However, nowadays, caution is needed, especially during checkout. The cashiers are often preoccupied with phone calls and lack sufficient space for multiple items, leading to errors that typically aren't favorable for customers, such as miscounting the items. Make sure to verify your items and types before finalizing your purchase.
Buyer beware
This for Albany, NZ, not Leicester, wherever that is,🤣Palmers, Albany, NZ, used to be an excellent garden shop, but now one has to be extra careful, particularly at the till. The till staff are often busy with phone calls etc,, and they have not enough space at the till to place large numbers of items to be purchased. So, they frequently make mistakes, always to the disadvantage of the customers, like over counting the items purchased. So, count the items and their types before completing the purchase.

Rip off and rude
Charged adult prices for our kids at the cafe, mine is 18 month and he was charge more than the full kids breakfast just for scrambled eggs on toast. £41 just for my partner me and baby for breakfast and drinks. Very expensive. Made to feel like we should have been specific it was for kids. What a rip off. Staff on till in the works was very blunt when asked a simple question. PALMERS ENDERBY

Held captive with children
Went in through the gates at 4.30pm bank holiday, there was an attendant at the gate who didn't say or mention anything. Unfortunately the garden centre was closed. Less than 2 minutes on the way out we find the gates are locked solid.
No mention or polite word by the attendant to say they were going to close and lock the gates in one minute.
After half an hour then Children were panicking as we were held captive in the car park. The first mobile on the security sign didn't pick up after numerous calls. The second number was picked up by a guy called Sam. He was polite, and came to our rescue. Thankyou Sam.
PALMERS, IF YOUR CLOSED PLEASE WARN CAR LOADS OF PEOPLE THAT THE GATES ARE TO BE LOCKED. DO NOT GIVE UNDUE DISTRESS.
misleading sale price
I think it’s misleading to say 5 jars of marmalade for £5.99 less 75% I.e. £1.50.
However at till charges individual price £2.99 each making total £2.25
Abysmal customer care
Absolute worse customer care went home with item completely different than what was on display as it was boxed. then was treated like it was my fault when returned to store and then received the one on display will never shop there again no apology for the inconvenience caused
Disappointing English breakfast
Disappointing English breakfast for the price. Average ingredients and no toast included.
Blinded by the LED lighting.
Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.
Rip off food that leaves a nasty taste in your mouth
We went to Palmers, at Ullesthorpe today (15th Oct 2024) and had a snack at lunch time. We had the Gourmet sausage roll with sweet potato chips. The sausage roll was never a gourmet sausage roll and the chips were awful. Worst of all were the scones. They were dry, left an awful after taste and were obviously taken out of packet. We were so disgusted by the meal that we just couldn't shop in the Garden Centre. We will never visit Palmers again
Disgusting oily food and illness
This is the second occasions we have eaten here, at Ullesthorpe.
First time we had a breakfast which was extremely oily, wouldn't have it again.
This time 28.09.24, as we thought we'd give it another try, we all order ham, egg and chips, the eggs were covered in a disgusting tasting oil, which unfortunately was on most of the ham.
Since the evening time I, and the others in my family have now sickness, upset stomach etc..
No way, worth having sickness from eating here, especially at the price of over £11 person per dinner.
Never again, it's a shame as the garden centre and cafe look well presented.

Needed a few tomato plants for a railing planter box , was looking for a reasonably mature plant as it's late for seedings , was stunned by the price of a small plant £16.95 for a single tomato plant ! , checked out a few other plant prices while I was there all outrageous
First visit to this garden centre
First visit to this garden centre, had a really good look around and was pleasantly surprised. Easy parking, clean & tidy premises, organised areas for each section of gardening, and overwhelming selection of stock. (Huge premises).
I would defiantly recommend a visit to this garden centre, even the staff are full of smiles and helpfulness.

I always love visiting Palmers In Enderby not only for the variety of plants they have, but also for all the other home decor that they sell. Yes their plants may be a bit pricier than others, but the plants are usually of a very good quality and should they not fit in with your gardening scheme, provided you bring them back in good condition they will always exchange them or give you a refund.
I’ve only used the cafe a couple of times and would say the food is okay, but the fact that there’s usually a big queue to get in suggests that it’s a good place to go to either meet up whilst looking for plants.
I should also mention that the staff have always been good to me and the men’s toilets are the cleanest and best decorated of all the places including restaurants I’ve been to in Leicester
Outraged but the staffs behaviour… Treated like a thief
Honestly , not even worth the 1 star!
absolutely outraged by the way I was treated at your Enderby garden centre today. I was at the garden centre between 3-4pm with my mother and infant. I had a few items ( marmalade , bbq sauce , rose feed ) underneath my baby’s pram which I intended to pay for at the exit of the garden centre, like I always do.
I was followed around the garden centre by a member of staff and the manager like a criminal . I was then told to pay for an item at works when I was still browsing. As I walked to the cafe I noticed the same staff member walk past behind us. We managed to get a table but as soon as we sat down , I felt very intimidated because three members of staff came up to the table to tell me to return the items I had in my pram in front of everyone. It was absolutely humiliating . I was so embarassed and upset that I left the cafe and everything I was going to purchase and opted to feed my baby in the car park outside.
I am a new mother who finally managed to get her baby out of the house and we were having an absolutely lovely day before I entered your garden centre .
No crime was committed at all nor did we have the intention of stealing. It was absolutely disgusting the way we were treated . I’m a tax paying citizen how dare they accuse me of stealing when I have done nothing wrong , I genuinely feel I was discriminated because of my appearance and this is absolutely appalling behaviour.
I spoke to manager and expressed my disappointment. However , it really didn’t seem like she cared !
Nobody should be treated this way and made to feel so rubbish.
I hope next time you do better !
Pot bound plants!
Purchased a number of plants recently when we visited Palmers at Ullesthorpe. Never have we seen such pot bound plants. The root ball on one of them was absolutely solid.
Against a tight schedule we were forced to plant them all up and just hope that’s with plenty of plant food and compost they’ll still grow.
Very disappointed and we wouldn’t buy plants from Palmers again on the strength of these examples.

Food was over priced for what you got .Hot drinks not up to standard. Chips warm not hot and sandwich was a child's portion . Hardly any filling. . Standards have slipped in he last few months . WHY ? I won't be back....

It was very busy I had a coffee plus a sandwich brown bread coronation chicken. Very plain very basic. Sent first one back as the bread was very dry where it had been sat under warmer waiting for it to come out, the replacement not much better. £6 for a tasteless dry sarny. Could do better but they won't. Had a sandwich and coffee with family few days before at Boswell's in town cheaper tastier fresher with a nice fresh side salad.

What a terrible experience my wife and I experienced at your Cafe on the 29/04/23. The radio was fading in and out during the whole time we were there (classic buffering). Yes, I raised it to a member of staff who said she would deal with it but didn’t. I raised it again on leaving but was told someone else (person in charge) should have dealt with it. Why have a sound system that clearly is irritating and puts off people ever eating there again (Me). Put it right Palmers - invest in a proper sound system!
Went to the Yeovil site
Went to the Yeovil site. This restaurant is now very large, however works well. Took family and mother there for a hot drink and a cake. Portions we were given for cakes were very very generous. Hot drinks all good. Restaurant area seemed clean and tidy. Members of staff at counter were ok - did not set the world on fire and were unsure about some things and needed to ask - did leave me waiting for a while. We did walk around the Garden Centre shop - good Christmas display and xmas decoration prices for a Garden Centre I would say were fairly competitive. Gents toilet clean but not the best. Did not see a line in floor with standing back from the till for social distancing, a cashier who was doubling up with cashier serving my mother in front came around and told me - I wonder if the 2nd person could be marshalling people - could work better rather than doubling up on a till? Parking is always easy here, found a space - and for those that worry about your car being damaged by others, spaces are a fairly good size if you look around.

Rude staff if your buying lots of things you get priority at the tills (didn’t know this until I visited today) went to buy some top soil only to have a member of staff push in and say these people were here first (when they weren’t) so not going again
