Another day of drama with UPS having…

Another day of drama with UPS having issues with OOHPOD lockers in Sandyford, saying they are closed. Only issue I can see is that they are not waiting due to location of lockers, hard to get to around 3pm

From my own experience with these lockers in Sandyford D18VW81, even today collecting a parcel, a car is parked right beside the lockers, driver waiting for his washing in the machines to be finished. This needs to be looked into. Time Collected 08:51 car right beside the locker... Couriers possible having issues with this. Maybe a conversation is required with the owners of the carpark to place railings or barrier so lockers cannot be blocked very poor ingress.

Absolutely nuts

Absolutely nuts. Living in Ireland rurally means there are no yodel stores only OOHPodLocker. However, once you drive the 30 miles to the nearest one, scan your parcel in hopes of an easy ride, you are met with barcode not recognised, input manually....you input the barcode, it erases itself...input the barcode again, not recognised. So, next step contact yodel, cut off from 1st person, onto the 2nd, kept on hold while you are asked if the label sent to you by yodel is right. You send a picture of said label....you are told to wait ...told to wait some more....no response, then disconnected. Yodel should perhaps not be a service over here until a service can actually be provided. All in all I had to cancel my buyers purchase, offered to send them via another postal service but as it had taken me 5 days to try and post it in the first place they, quite rightly, refused. The buyer lost the item, I lost the sale. Great stuff, what a fantastic service.

Don’t get me wrong

Don’t get me wrong, for someone like me working 12h shifts and barely being at home, or sleeping and resting when at home, it’s a great option. However the extra almost €4 per package is not ok. You could be paying 15€ for postage already and then ad €4 on top of that, it all adds up. In majority of European countries 99% of shops offer delivery to a parcel locker for a price ofc, and no added costs when collecting your package. Until that’s a case in Ireland I will not be completely happy with postal services 🤷🏻‍♀️

Superb

I have only used it once so far and the experience was beyond expectations. Had a slight issue with the interpretation of a status code but this was resolved promptly via the support chat line, even though it was late Saturday. All I can suggest is that they publish the status code and their meaning on their website.

I will definitely use again, no doubt about that.

Cornmarket Cork Locker Closing

Received a notification at 5.45PM about location Cornmarket-Cork locker removed in 4 days due to some renovations.

The instruction is "Notify the courier to redirect the parcels to a different address."

Why is there no option from your end to use a different locker/location?

Do you think 4 days is enough advance for removing the locker on the busiest time of the year? Spotted in previous reviews people had not even been informed of closed locations out of the blue.

The whole point of using this service is not missing deliveries. Now you expect your customers (who have already paid for a service), to be chasing packages (Christmas presents), changing addresses and basically not doing what you were paid for in the first place.

If you are considering this service, think again. It's not worth your troubles.
