I love a lot of things about NextUP

I love a lot of things about NextUP. Firstly, they got me through the pandemic - and for that I'll always be grateful. But it's the content variety that most appeals - comedy is so subjective that clearly we don't all find the same things funny, but there is so much on NextUp that we will certainly find something to suit our mood and taste. I'm so over N*****x and P***e "Comedy Specials" with the same gazillionaire comics bleating on to an audience of millions how they have been "cancelled". NextUp lets me choose the type of comedy I want, not to be told what I should find funny.

Excellent value for offer.

Excellent value for offer.

For fans of comedy this is well worth the subscription fee. It has content that you would struggle to find in mainstream providers.

I really enjoyed the Fringe streams!

If you like stand up comedy this is ace

Great library of stuff which would otherwise just disappear into the comedy ether! Live shows pretty cool too, in an era of childcare commitments meaning I can’t get to gigs often, this is a brilliant alternative

Auto Renew Without Permission

Renewed my annual subscription without my permission. On top of this, they have almost doubled the annual charge. I never sign up for auto renew as circumstances can change. Mine have and I now can't afford to pay household bills because this company has taken my money.

As a small company founded by comedy fans, the last thing we want is for anyone to be caught off guard by a bill they can’t afford. Like many other streaming platforms, we did recently adjust our pricing to help manage rising costs. That said, we aimed to make this transition as transparent as possible. All members were notified with two advance emails, which also included the option to keep their old pricing if they preferred. We understand that some emails may have ended up in spam and so we're working on better inbox delivery rates.

At NextUp, we strive to offer specialised content—weekly livestreams from comedy clubs and festivals, plus our extensive on-demand library—at a highly competitive rate. We genuinely value our community and want to be as accommodating as possible.

In response to feedback, we’ve recently introduced a 30-day reminder email to help prevent unexpected renewals.

If you haven’t already, please reach out to our support team at support@nextupcomedy.com. We’d be glad to discuss your situation and explore options, including a refund, to help alleviate any financial strain.

Terrible

I tried this service 2 years ago then realised it wasn't suitable due to my hearing impairment & having to go onto benefits due to a serious medical issue. I cancelled my membership & repeatedly tried to unsubscribe to any messages sent regarding the service. Last year I discovered they had taken a payment for membership again. I got in touch to clarify & got an apology & full refund. I was assured my details would be removed. Yet again yesterday I found £60 taken from my account. I have sent two messages again explaining & am worried that the direct debits I have (phone bill, insurance etc.) will cause bank charges due to NextUp Comedy errors due to causing insufficient funds. I have also requested proof my details are no longer available to them.

Sorry for the very delayed reply. This issue dates back a while and whilst your account was corrected and refunded back in 2024, we still wanted to acknowledge your review properly here and apologise again.

We’re really sorry this happened. At the time we were going through a system migration that caused billing errors on a small number of accounts. The underlying issue has since been fully resolved with safeguards in place to prevent it happening again.

Beware charges

Just had an email saying they'd billed me for a year even though I'd deactivated my account. No warning email that it's coming, just that it's being charged. And cancelling the reoccurring fee is hidden in a drop down section of site stupidly called "Danger Zone" at bottom of your account. It's purposefully difficult to find and how to cancel is a long way down their FAQ and doesn't provide a link straight to it. Very shady way to run business.

Excellent Comedy Streaming Service!

I recently subscribed to NextUp Comedy and am thoroughly impressed. The platform offers a wide range of comedy shows, featuring both established and up-and-coming comedians. The streaming quality is excellent, and the user interface is easy to navigate. I particularly appreciate the curated playlists. Customer service has also been responsive and helpful. Highly recommend NextUp Comedy for anyone looking to enjoy quality comedy content.

Great UK Comedy vod and live platform…

Great vod and live platform with lots of good content that isn’t available elsewhere. Also good relationships with comedians meaning that the right people are paid fairly for their work.

Horrible company

Horrible company, 1 month into my year subscription they discontinued the Samsung TV app I used, then when I got a firestick they decided to kill the lifetime subscription, now they've brought it back for nearly £200 and are spamming people pretending it's a bargain... Crooks.

Here’s some context to clarify the situation:

The lifetime subscription you mentioned was a special offer in May 2023 at an introductory price we promised would be its lowest ever. We brought it back for one month in 2024 at £220 due to increased annual costs on our end. While this price may seem steep, our annual subscription at £60/year makes it highly competitive, especially given our unique offerings like live streams from the Edinburgh Fringe and more.

We understand how frustrating rising costs can be, so we offered all existing users the option to opt-out of the yearly price increase. We’re proud of this initiative, as it reflects our commitment to our community.

Unfortunately, we had to discontinue the Samsung TV app due to high costs and low usage. We understand this isn’t ideal, but it was a necessary decision. We offered a full refund to any users who signed up specifically to watch via this app.
