Customer Service Extremely Disappointing, Sadly

I hold lifetime membership of NextUp having purchased it in 2019.
However, on 18th March I received notification from NextUp that they had been unable to take payment and to add a payment card to my account - something that isn't required given the package that I purchased. The same thing happened in 2024, and by contacting NextUp it was quickly and easily resolved, my access was reinstated and I was told that this would not happen again, and in fairness I have had uninterrupted access to the platform since then up until 18th March.
I naively thought that all I would need to do was reply to the email, point out the error and my access would be reinstated. How wrong I have been.
I have sent eight different emails since 18th March attempting to get my access reinstated, even replying to the email chain from 2024 too (request #22899), but have not received a response from anybody within NextUp. I have had automated responses saying they aim to respond within 72 hours but nothing back from a human yet resulting in me still having no access to the service I paid for.
Emails have been sent to 'support' and 'help' email addresses but to no avail.
I then saw in the members' forum section of the NextUp app someone praising NextUp for reinstating his access when the same thing happened to him, but because my plan has now technically ended I am unable to provide a response within the community section of the app and raise the issue there.
I do genuinely feel bad about having to leave this review given how much I rate NextUp, the content they provide and the ethos of the company, however unfortunately I see no other option for me to try and make myself heard and for someone within the organisation to hopefully see this and finally respond to one of my many emails.

Not using the service, can’t login but charged

I subscribed over two years ago and have asked to cancel. The website doesn’t recognise my account. I have contacted support twice and not heard anything back. £60 taken out of my account for a service I can’t log in to or even use.

Easily accessible and great variety

Often watch on the app or TV, I always find there’s a great variety of comedy and often find comedians I haven’t seen before that I turn out to love!

Fantastic Livestreams

I love the variety of comedians on this platform, but what really makes it five stars for me is the live streaming. I wasn’t able to go to Edinburgh this summer, but felt I hadn’t really missed out as have the app on my tv and managed to catch a chunk of the festival from home. The fact that there are so many live streams still happening off season is fantastic, best of all being the ones from the Bill Murray, which, to me, is neck and neck with Soho Theatre the best comedy venue in London

We agree with you about The Bill Murray. It’s one of the best clubs in London and being able to bring that atmosphere into people’s homes is exactly why we started streaming in the first place. Good content

I love being able to find new comedy and all in one place. It’s uplifting They have a large number of acts to follow, but the quality is generally very good and caters for different tastes.

Great place to see great comedy. Lots of comic content to access on the next up site, from well known performers to newbies. Content from the Edinburgh fringe and other comic fests. Subscription well priced for what you can get.
