I encountered the rudest agent ever. The agent kept cutting us off when asking questions about the policies, she tried answering our questions with things that were yes and no answers. It was the mist... See more

Just got a mailer today from Mutual of Omaha, stamped confidential. Inside I am offered a very special whole life insurance plan. The important piece of info states that the benefit will be paid when I turn 120 years old. I am going to have to get in better shape.
I don't care who you are, that's funny.
These people suck, im an agent and even i have the biggest problem getting ahold of the damn comapny. These fools leave me on hold for like 30 minutes and are constantly hang up on me.

Horrible. I use them to purchase my first home which was over half $1 million. They love to boast about how you can refinance with them for no costs after 6 months. However what they fail to tell you, is that they sell almost all of their home loans after 60 days. If you’re looking for a mortgage company go almost anywhere else because inevitably they’ll just sell your loan to somebody else anyway.
THIS COMPANY IS CONSTANTLY NEGELECTING TO TAKE MY MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FOR MY WHOLE LIFE PAYMENTS. FOR 7 YEARS I HAD NO PROBLEM, NOW ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY HAVE STOPPED PROCESSING MY AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND SPOKEN WITH AGENTS AND MANAGERS, BUT THE PROBLEM IS STILL EXISTING. I ALMOST FEEL LIKE THEY ARE DOING IT ON PURPOSE TO CANCEL MY WHOLE LIFE POLICY AND FORCE ME TO HAVE TO SIGNUP FOR A NEW POLICY WHICH WILL BE HIGHER. I'M GOING TO THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER ABOUT THEIR PRACTICES SINCE THEY CONTINUE TO PLAY GAMES, AND I WILL LOOK INTO DISCRIMINATION...THAT THEY ARE FORCING CONSUMERS FOR MORE MONEY. IT STARTED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2024 AND IS NOW ONGOING.

I had carcinoma removed yesterday. Called MoO today and they verified all with my Dr while I on phone. She said a check in mail tomorrow. No paperwork! Great customer service.
I was signing up for a Medicare Advantage health supplement plan and never received a letter or email that I was not accepted. It was a horrible experience, if I hadn't called customer service to find out, I wouldn't have health insurance for 2025. Very upsetting!
I have had Mutual of Omaha since 2018 (6 years) Their Recommended Agent LIED to me about nearly EVERYTHING. She said they would NEVER go up over 2 or 3% in any one year. On September 1, 2024 I was 70 years old and had not had any hospital visits or anything and about 2 doctor visits for the year. They were good about paying the doctor bills, but I don't like being lied to. They went up 14.68% for ONE YEAR!!! Everyone I've spoken to can't believe how much they went up and how they were lied to, too. If you have plenty of money and don't care about paying a few hundred dollars a month for a Plan G that everyone else sells for half the price, go right ahead. I told your agent, Melanie Conie MULTIPLE times that I ONLY wanted the ISSUE AGE Policy. She said it wasn't available in Kansas. You ONLY had the ATTAINED AGE policy and it would be MUCH CHEAPER anyway. This was her 4 year projection in 2018 * What has the rate increases for Mutual of Omaha been over the last two years & what would the projected costs be in 5 years?* "If I were to hypothetically project 5 years out, Mutual of Omaha would be $113.38. " Her email says that. It currently is $202.67 for a 70 year old. WHOOPSIE, looks like your projections are a little OFF! It doesn't matter what they charge now, because in 5 or so years, it will be DOUBLED and they only allowed the ISSUE AGE Policy for the PLAN F. As bad as it was, it might have been a better choice. I sent probably 10 emails saying I DIDN'T want Mutual of Omaha, because of the enormous number of complaints, but your agent PUSHED ME INTO IT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO Mutual of OMAHA and their solution to the incredible high increases is to FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!! Not so easy now, after the "Guaranteed Issue at age 65" The man from the pardner company he had me call, spoke to me nearly an hour, said he was calling the next day and NEVER CALLED! Just pray I don't have identity theft!

I recently took over my Mom's financial affairs and found that she was paying in over $36,000 over the face value of her life insurance policies. I called and spoke to them and we ended up redeeming the policies as it would save her $3,500 a year. Now mind you, she has paid more than 5 times the face value of these policies and she is not even getting the face value of them back!! That is criminal and taking advantage of the elderly which in my book is very wrong. I will never recommend this company to anyone as I feel she should have at least gotten the face value of the policies back seeing as they have banked over $36,000 above the face value. I would love to hear from a company manager and have them explain how they have taken advantage of an elderly woman!!

Signed up with Mutual of Omaha 8/14/2024 and cancelled policy the next day after reading two dozen scalding reviews on this company (should have reviewed them 1st but it was my bank, USAA, that signed me up). I was told my 2 checks would be processed and mailed within 7 business days, waited patiently but no checks, called Mutual was told one check was mailed and the second to post office that day, 10 days later no checks, called Mutual again and was told checks are still being processed, please be patient they will be in your mailbox soon, 10 days later no checks, called Mutual and asked to speak to an actual employee of Mutual and was transferred to Melissa who checked my policy info and found my mailing address was incorrect. Up to today I have had 5 conversations with Mutual and on 4 of them I confirmed my correct mailing address and asked Melissa how, suddenly/mysteriously, my address had been altered? I believe this is part of the fraud and deceitful practices this company employs to keep every dollar in their investment accounts as long as inhumanly possible. MUTUAL OF OMAHA IS A CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE !!! Do not send money to this company because you will never see it again.
They fail to tell you that any money that you put into your whole life insurance you can’t get it back. I was going to redo my policy but after being told that they can kiss my ass.
The most horrible company for claims! Every single time I submit a claim I have to call and babysit them, I either have to mail it twice, because they supposedly didn’t get it the first time, or they are absolutely stupid, and claim that their system has a glitch where, instead of paying the patient, they pay the provider… So you literally have to babysit these people and make sure that you get your claim paid.
After nine years of faithfully paying into my life insurance policy with Mutual of Omaha I experienced a deeply frustrating ordeal that led to the cancellation of my policy. Despite being a healthy individual with no major health issues, I was blindsided by the cancellation due to a missed payment, for which I received no notification. I struggled through a brutal divorce for the past few years, and as I single mother I was so pleased to have my children’s security protected by this policy.
For six months, I diligently provided three years of medical records under their scrutiny, with no sign of suffering of any major health issues, leading ultimately to the cancellation of my policy while I was hoping I would be reinstated. 6 months before this ordeal started, Mutual of Omaha approved me as a preferred plus member (highest grading) due to my impecabile clean health record at age 48. Prior to the approval of my second policy, I was visited by a nurse at my house at 9:00 AM to collect blood samples and other health vitals in order to be approved for my second policy. Yet, Mutual of Omaha canceled my first policy and asked for a tone of medical records even though I was categorized a preferred plus member 6 months prior.
Despite my efforts to rectify the situation, I received inadequate support and resolution from their customer service team.
In addition to the frustration of having my policy canceled unjustly, I must express my profound disappointment with the deplorable customer service provided by Mutual of Omaha. Throughout this ordeal, I encountered a lack of empathy, communication, and accountability from their representatives. Despite my efforts to rectify the situation and provide all requested documentation, I was met with indifference and bureaucratic hurdles. This experience has shattered my trust in Mutual of Omaha and left me questioning their commitment to their customers’ well-being. Mutual of Omaha is the epitome of the greedy companies taking advantage of the people who are in desperate need of protection, in my case protection and security for my minor children.
In my interactions with Mutual of Omaha, it became painfully clear that their primary focus was retaining the premiums I had faithfully paid into for the past nine years, rather than providing genuine assistance or understanding towards resolving the issue.
As a loyal customer, I expected better communication and assistance from Mutual of Omaha. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and questioning their commitment to customer care. I urge others to carefully consider their options before entrusting their insurance needs to this company.
Although I have signed up for 2 policies for Mutual of Omaha life insurance in case of my death, the commercials do not reflect that the insurance is only covered after 2 years of obtaining the policy. You need to show full transparency!
All I needed was a fax number for a verification report to be sent. The automated system was not user friendly and when I finally got to speak with someone I was tranfered back to the automated number. I would never do business with this company.
1. MY CANCER INSURANCE CLAIM WAS JUST DENIED AFTER WASTING TIME COMPILING DOCS AND PAPERWORK IN TRIPLICATE AND $5 FOR POSTAGE.
2. THEY THEN CANCELLED MY POLICY (VIA POSTAL LETTER) FOR UNKNOWN REASON AND ZERO PRIOR AUTHORIZATION OR REQUEST?!
3. I HAD LIFE INSURANCE AND ACCIDENTAL DEATH INSURANCE AND NOW DEMANDING THEY CANCEL THOSE AND REFUND ALL FUNDS PAID IN OVER LAST 3-4 YEARS BECAUSE I HAVE NO FAITH OR TRUST IN THIS RUTHLESS COMPANY!

Joseph Buella pushed me to refinance. I wasn't interested because the appraisal was so high and I didn't really need a refinance. He said "I'll split the appraisal cost with you". I agreed and he instead found a cut rate appraisal company that did it for my half alone and undervalued my house.
I am having the same issue with Mutual of Omaha's LTC as the previous reviewer. My mother had her policy for almost 40 years! We had to place her in LTC facility in January 2024 & I've been trying to get her claim paid ever since. She passed away end of March 2024 & I am still getting the run around from Mutual. Also, when I try to login to her online account for updates, I either cannot login due to technical issues or if I am able to login, nothing has been updated.
My dad also had a Mutual LTC Policy for 36years when he passed away. He never went into a LTC facility so never filed a claim. However, it makes me sick when I think about all the money my parents paid in premiums to Mutual of Omaha and now to be treated like this!

Absolutely the WORST company to deal…UPDATE
As of 5-15-24, more excuses not to pay. This time they're blaming the new place my mom is in for improperly filled out paperwork which is required by them for my mom to get her monthly payment to cover the rent, after telling my brother who is POA everything was good. Now its not?? TOTAL RED TAPE BS, & Incompetence again. No compassion at all, no help at all, just more reasons not to pay, and when called on to correct the stalling & shell game is DISGUSTING. Management is a JOKE. Stop BLOWING SMOKE UP OUR ASS! PAY UP!! No more to talk about. The SC Dept of Ins WILL BE notified along with the Congressman. I suggest all others having issues do the same!
Absolutely the WORST company to deal with. So Sorry I talked my Mom into this. Now the family has to deal & fight them to get what was PAID For. After my mother paid into a long term care policy for almost 20 years so she could have extra care money when needed, they don't want to pay. She has been in assisted living over 3 years, recently moved to to extra care with more expenses, so we applied for the money to get the payments started, and this company has been jerking us around with stupid ridiculous request just to delay and avoid paying, since July, did app in June, AFTER WE PROVIDED ALL MEDICAL, LIVING, AND CARE PAPERWORK. Bad COMMUNICATION, STALLING, & INCOMPETENCE is all over this company, at least in the insurance dept. It is so obvious they don't want to pay out $4000 a month, which is what the policy CLAIMED IT WOULD DO 20 years ago. DO NOT USE MUTUAL of OMAHA !!! Also sorry to hear others having same type of problems.
