I was questioning how helpful the first two sessions were when the provider did not arrive for the third session. Now I've been changed to someone else. I will give it one more try.

I love my therapist. She is great and very helpful. However, I’m not a fan of having to pay a copay AND a monthly fee.

Great Customer Service, No providers

I like how they're efficient in setting appointments & following up with emails & phone calls. Customer service is great, but there's a bigger reason why I gave 3 stars.

I think my biggest problem with Mood Health is that I've been a "client" for several months & still have not met with an in-network therapist. I remember receiving information about one therapist that was in my network, & when I signed up for an appointment, there were no more availability for this therapist. (I did this the same day I received the email notification of availability being open.) Till to this day, I have received no therapy, just only a screening episode. They're really kind & efficient in finding out-of-network therapists, but I personally believe they're very limited on in-network providers. The out-of-network therapists charge a lot & even with my insurance that my company pays for, I still have to pay a large sum for the co-pay. It's quite stressful to be honest.

I appreciate what Mood Health does in the meantime, but it's unfortunate that I have not received services within this year.

I didn't get any help

I waited a long time to find out if someone was available. It was annoying all the emails about how I am feeling. I feel frustrated. Then I was charged for a "session" in which they told me no one was available yet. I finally gave up.

Scam for money

When I called and made an initial appointment, I was told I was covered through my insurance. On the day of the appointment, they told me I’m not covered by my insurance and charged me to cancel my appointment. This place is trying to scam you out of your money!

I am truly disappointed with Mood

I am truly disappointed with Mood. I received numerous emails about my session. First, asking me questions about my insurance and assuring me that my insurance was accepted. After my initial session I received a charge and when I called all they said was well that's too bad and we are giving you a discounted rate. This is deceiving and not professional.

Help is available for you!

Everyone needs something to look forward to, and I always look forward to my zoom meetings with Belen. Just having someone to talk to regarding my mental health is great, and my counselor is an excellent listener. I feel friendship from her as well. Having an affordable alternative to traditional counseling was critical, as my medical insurance wouldn’t cover traditional talk therapy. I recommended Mood Health to my brother and a friend who was glad to hear about it.

Love my therapist, Payment process could use

I Personally have loved my sessions with Candice Peterson. She has really help me overcome a lot of my personal anxieties. If this was just about her, this would be a 5 star review. However, my experience with payments from Mood Health have just been all over the place. I would prefer if I was billed instead of my money randomly being pulled whenever my insurance processes. That would be super helpful.
Other than that my expirience with Mood Health has been very pleasant and helpful.

Please find a reputable practice that is transparent about their policies!

My experiences with my psychiatrist were okay, although the appointment was usually more small talk than actual treatment and was never longer than 20 minutes. When I mentioned a side effect that just started occuring, my psych asked me what I wanted to do about it. I didn't know how to respond, as I was expecting her medical guidance. We ended up not changing anything. Later, I decided to cancel my upcoming appointment before the month of May because I did not want to pay the additional $29 monthly fee. I sent an email to the Mood staff informing them of this (at the time I was going to keep the appointment, then realized they would be charging me monthly up until the appointment which was 3 months away). I stated I would like to end services after this appointment. Since I cancelled it, I did not expect to be billed for the month of May because they are not treating me anymore. Not only was I mistakenly charged three times for one month, I was told that my subscription account was still active. The website is deceptive in mentioning it's "subscription" based and rarely uses that actual language in their FAQ or descriptions. I'm not paying for Netflix, I'm paying for a psychiatrist appointment. Their FAQ also states that, unlike competitors, patients are able to have direct email contact with their provider- this is untrue. I was never given a direct phone number or email for my provider, and had to go through customer service if I wanted to speak to her (and didn't end up actually speaking to her at all). I had to restate three times in three emails that I wanted my account terminated to the customer service rep Giovanni. It seems they want to do anything they can to keep you in their care even if they're not providing treatment or it is deceptive. Right after rolling out the $29 fee, they also sent patients an email saying they'll donate $20 to NAMI for every referral you make. The timing seems too convenient to me. I believe a company that wanted to actually advocate for mental health would not make their donations a transaction that ends up with more money in the company's pocket anyway.

Overall I LOVE Mood HOWEVER

Overall I LOVE Mood, however recent changes to a monthly fee PLUS the appointment fee doesn't sit well with me. I have requested to be canceled and not charged as I feel the appointment fee of $100 for a 10 minute consultation for a prescription refill is ridiculously expensive as is so the new $29 a month fee is just over the top and to much.

Could Not Have Been Worse

The first 'session' is an evaluation, which was pretty traumatizing. I wasn't believed & I wasn't listened to: the dismissive nurse decided she knew me better. She did not bother to study my prescreen info, nor did she truly listen to my concerns and prior diagnoses. I tried to ignore the condescending attitude, but got the feeling that she had settled on a diagnosis within the first five minutes, because her questions had little to do with what I was saying.

She was late to the appointment & ended it early.

I was denied services for a 'diagnosis' that virtually no other medical professional has ever entertained. It was stunningly off-base and I truly feel for patients more vulnerable than myself who would have this sort of introduction to therapy.

Great experience

My LMFT made me feel comfortable and taught me a lot about many different concepts. They were also always on time for appointments, responsive, and always understanding when I needed to reschedule.

Don’t care about real people

They told me they took my insurance, then proceeded to prescribe me medication with no therapy, and no regular check-ins. I FINALLY was assigned a therapist who was just a CSW (not what I wanted or needed), who didn’t quite get the mental health stuff. I suffered and had the worst period of me life on the medication with no help, only for my Psychiatrist to ghost me, not only missing our appointment but also not responding to me emails. Then I got a bill for roughly $100 per session with each person, costing me hundreds, despite being told that my insurance would cover it. There is also no way to remove any credit card from their website one they take your info. An absolute scam and pill-mill. They care more about selling drugs than actually helping your mental health. If I could rate 0 stars I would.

Hi Mariah, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback, and we're so sorry about your experience. It seems that the psychiatric provider had a family emergency at the time of your visit, but we are following up with her directly to share the critical feedback about being more responsive via email. Mood Health aims to make mental health care accessible, and we fell short of that in this situation for you. We are not and have never been in the business of pushing medication, and take this feedback very seriously. We'll be conducting an internal review to ensure that this situation never happens again.

Price change

I so badly want to give mood health a 5 star because I did find an amazing therapist. A couple months in and I’m starting to make a little progress with weekly sessions. Now I am being charged more (even with low income) because they phased out the $19/session. I will no longer be able to have weekly sessions and will most likely only be able to do once a month now. It’s a huge damper on my healing process :/ please bring this back because some people really need this
