Females - Be aware of your safety on this property

Please make sure you use your top safety lock when staying at this hotel.

One of my coworkers had a man attempt to enter her room at 6:00 AM. When she asked who he was, he identified himself as “security,” but he was actually maintenance. Thankfully, she did not let him in.

What’s especially concerning is everything that followed:

* Why did he misidentify himself as security?
* Why didn’t he knock or properly announce himself?
* Why didn’t the front desk call ahead before attempting to enter an occupied room—especially a solo female guest?
* And why was there zero accountability from management afterward?

To make matters worse, valet also “lost” my keys and told me they had somehow ended up at a gas station. I had to wait 30 minutes for them to retrieve my keys and bring my car back. Completely unacceptable.

Our experience with Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate management was extremely disappointing. The situation was dismissed, and our safety concerns were not taken seriously. We were also told there was no surveillance available to review what happened.

This was a frightening experience, and it ultimately led our entire team to leave a day early because we did not feel safe staying.

This lack of accountability is unacceptable. Guests—especially women traveling alone—should be aware.

Poor customer service and accountability

I purchased a gift card as a birthday gift back in November and as of January 5 the gift card has not arrived. I call up the Omni and they will not issue me an electronic gift card and they will not send the new gift card with expedited shipping or tracking. They take a zero responsibility or offer zero concession for me waiting over a month to receive a gift card that I've already paid for. Very poor customer service. I won't be gifting anyone else anything from this resort again.

I tried to cancel 4 days in advance and they said it was outside of their policy even though my colleague cancelled the same day. Apparently, cancellation dates vary. I had to cancel due to safety concerns at McGill university. A manager was supposed to call me back and never did. I followed up 3-4 days later and they said they couldn't refund my booking. I am in Montreal 10x per year, Marriott will be getting my business now.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

I booked my hotel room for the day before I was going to arrive. When I went to check in our room wasn't ready because they gave it away claiming we were a no show even though we paid for it. When we questioned the girl at the front desk, Isabel, she was very snippy with us.

Charges for stay

The hotel have ‘double charged’ my bank account and are holding over $300 for ‘pre charges’ despite the actual final bill being settled.
This was a stay at Fort Worth, Texas.
The customer service support are useless
Now been 4 weeks since the money was taken and no refund.
How much money are they making on peoples money while they ‘hold’ this charge? Would not reccommend at all

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I have tried now for over 2 months to either move or get refunded for a trip I cannot go on. Its for the 4th July 2023 weekend in New Orleans with my family and four nights is £1700 - the hotel is full!. I initially started this cancellation on 9th March 2023 and it took over two weeks for them to respond - no refund available. I called the hotel again and was told that they would both refund and alter the booking if necessary - today while on the phone with Mr Shivay I was clearly told that my OMNI resorts and hotels 4 night hotel booking over 4th July weekend in New Orleans could not be cancelled or moved and that OMNI are refusing to make any changes to the booking. Sammy also confirmed that this was OMNI's decision not theirs. On speaking with Makeesha at OMNI hotels and resorts Mr Shivay was told that they refused to alter the reservation (£1700) despite my new proposed date being cheaper. Having spoken to Miranda K, Sue and Anika (in USA from UK) I am told by OMNI head office in Dallas it is down to EXPEDIA to change this booking not themselves - they were happy to do so. I asked whether Expedia was lying or themselves - they said Expedia. I asked them to call Expedia on my behalf - they refused saying they were not allowed to. So who is lying? Expedia or OMNI Hotels and Resorts. The only person not lying is me - the only person seriously out of pocket is me - they both blame each other and I have got nowhere despite sending many emails, talking to chat bots, talking to agents and spending hours on the phone to both companies. I will not use Expedia again - and I will not stay at Omni Hotels and Resorts ever! - they are both dishonest and neither will take any responsibility. Back to booking.com - they at least do what they say on the packet - outraged and disappointed - to not even change the booking to a cheaper dates is ridiculous.

Horrible Customer Support

We went on the Omni hotel Toronto website to have a look at their afternoon tea for a friend who is relocating there (from Britain). On the page there was a gift card link, so we bought a gift card just to realise it was only valid in the US. Emailed to ask to change availability or get a refund, to get a complete no (in a sickly sweet email). I asked if we were protected under consumer rights and was told to get my counsel to contact their counsel. Maybe its an American thing, but I have never experienced anything that inflexible and unhunman in customer support (having travelled quite a bit) - especially since they are the ones who mis place the link on the Canadian page. Will have to find someone in the US to regift to, but honestly crazy disappointed.

Omni used to be a favorite hotel brand…

Omni used to be a favorite hotel brand for our family (and business) until a recent trip to Amelia Island Florida. The Omni Amelia Island Resort was the worst experience (and I travel a lot so I know what great looks like). This Omni resort property is NOT what great, good, or even fair looks like. The rooms are old, the restaurants are lacking, and the front desk staff couldn't care less. To be fair, I first encountered this hotel on a business trip for a conference. It wasn't the greatest, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My second time was equally as disappointing (they can't blame it on COVID-19 as the poor service was already a pre-existing element). I get it, "you go for the beach, so what if the rooms are nasty and old, right?" Well, we had a premium suite and the beach was a 3 out of 10. This hotel went out of its way to earn a one star! I may be just one opinion, but judging by the other guests, they did NOT look like they were having loads of fun either. I should have pushed for a refund, but I just wanted to LEAVE and NEVER look back.

Omni hotel in Cancun is the best hotel I have been to in some time. Customer service is on point. Very attentive and all about the customer. I will stay here anytime. Also clean and covid aware. They are great stay here you will love it! The Restuarnt and bar at the beach location isn’t bad at all. I can walk to the shore from the bar that’s super vacation mode!

Great activity resort for family and teenagers in Pals, Spain

We (still) enjoy holidays with the kids that are now teenagers. We prioritize activities ... whether for winter or summer holidays. So, it is important for us to find a summer vacation resort that offers golfing, windsurfing, lap swimming and potentially other things such as tennis, football, go-karting, mini-golf etc. Further, it must be a friendly place, not too upscale snobish ... but good quality. In our experience 4* resorts is a good choice. Even though we rarely go the same place multiple times ... we have now stayed 3 consequtive years at La Costa ... because it offers these activities ... golf, windsurfing, tennis and lap swimming within walking distance. 20 minutes away is go-karting and a nice 18 hole par 3 course, which is convenient for friends joining that do not yet play the big courses.

The hotel as such has a good atmosphere, good food in the restaurant, friendly staff ... different types of rooms and even a 2 and a 3 bedroom villa, which we also stayed at. The Villa's need an upgrade ... but they work and are nice. The rooms are great and well maintained.

There are historical places to go ... when we need some distraction from the pool and golf course. E.g. Girona, Figueras, Pals, Begur etc. We also went sailing on a rented motor boat with captain for a day with some friends. It is great to see the coast from the sea side, halt and go for a swim and sail on.

Negatives ... well, there are few restaurants and little activity on the streets around the resort, so we need to drive if we want to escape the resort for a while. It is 10-15 minutes to more restaurants.
