Cape Air to Marthas Vineyard.

msp to Boston. Our flight from msp was caught on the runway which made us late for the connection. The Cape Air people said the flight was cancelled?! No other flights to Marthas Vineyard. Asked for our luggage- they could not find my luggage- they blamed Delta- sent me back to Delta- which is no easy trip in this airport. Delta could see it was in Boston- they submitted a lost luggage claim. Book a room- 459.00 per room- there were five of us. Never got our luggage-went to the airport early to catch plane to marthas vineyard. they could not find our luggage- I did see many peoples bags in several places on the runway. just sitting there in little groups. We boarded and when we arrived in marthas- my bag was the only bag that was on this plane. It sounds like a common occurance and I did want to take their flight back to Boston- but feared and was told they would cancel the rest of my trip. I would be listed as a no show. The staff are dismissive and laid back- its not their luggage. I am waiting to board and I saw couple cancellations show up now on the screen. When I asked the attendant said "all I know is whats up there". NO help. NO assurance. How do they determine daily who and when to cancel? I have a connecting flight that I will miss.

Flight was booked up and overweight

Flight was booked up and overweight, so they couldn't let me on the plane. Didn't inform me until I arrived at the airport and then had to scramble to find an alternative mode of transport with no help from them.

If I could give this company zero stars…

If I could give this company zero stars I would. the most horrible experience and airline that ever existed. The captain never showed up for our flight and they made us miss a connecting flight which we had to find a way on our own. the staff are also clueless. not even educated. do not use this airline at all cost!

Worst airline experience ever

Worst airline experience ever. We were delayed in San Juan due to another airline but still arrived in the checkin window. Gate agent refused to check us in, give us a refund or find an alternative flight. Their flight was the last flight out that evening to St. Croix. The gate agent was rude, unfriendly and it felt like she was intentionally wanting us to miss the flight. Will never use Cape Air again.

Unreliable. Untrustworthy.

I bought a ticket 6 months in advance - for a 26-day long European trip. They canceled the flight an hour before the departure, due to a ground stop (that happens to them often) and provided no alternative transportation, despite they usually do that, and despite sending me a message that they would. I showed up at an empty airport except for two very unhelpful and rude members of their staff, with no other option but to drive very fast to Boston and park at Logan Airport (at $41/day) to catch my flight to Europe (I had already reserved 4 Airbnb's and 2 car rentals in 4 different countries). They refunded my round trip with them, but so far refused to cover the cost of my parking at Logan, which was solely caused by their negligence and indolence.

Beware Cape Air - Drive Instead

Scheduled to fly from Boston to near our home in Rutland, VT. The flight was initially delayed because of reported impending weather and then ultimately canceled. Another passenger was scheduled to fly back on July 18 as well, and he and we began looking, with no success and no assistance at all from CapeAir, for options to rent cars to get back to Vermont. When we tried again to reschedule our flight back to Vermont, we were told that the soonest that they would be able to fly our family of 4 home would be on July 26. When we asked what we were supposed to do for food and lodging between the for the next eight days in a very expensive city, the ticket agent just shrugged.

We asked about alternate ground transportation and were told that, because there was weather it was no longer the airlines responsibility to get us to our destination. We could either wait until the 26th to go home or find our own way home. The airline representative then indicated a limo company that they use for ground transportation to Vermont. Deciding that paying for our own, transportation would be less expensive than trying to find a hotel room and food in Boston for the next eight days, we called the limo company and paid over $800 out-of-pocket to get ourselves and one of our fellow passengers home that evening (Cape Air didn’t care one iota what happened to him,)

To no avail, I have contacted the airline to see about getting reimbursement, and the airline response even conceded at one point that one of their options, even in the event of weather related cancellations, could have been to offer us ground transportation. However, because the cancellation was weather related, they are still stating that we, as the customers should still bear all of the financial and logistical cost of getting ourselves home. I
We would have been better off driving to Boston, and if we thought they could be so unreliable and duplicitous, we never would have played airline Russian roulette.

Apathy has defined our entire experience with Cape Air’s customer care team.

In short, don’t book this airline unless you reserve an extra $1000 to arrange alternate transportation when they abandon you. They won’t get you there and they just don’t care.

Why bother?

Booked a flight which required using Cape Air as a connecting flight. When arriving from the first flight, no attendee. Boarding pass not available, just a time for the flight. Checked in twice…no one at the ticketing booth. Came at listed time and they said the flight had left…the plane was literally outside and directly with the miscommunication on their part made no attempt to correct it/call pilot. Easy enough to have on a notes for check in. No care and no customer service on a puddle jumpers to hell. On Thanksgiving no less. Take a rental car.

In love

I honestly loved flying with this company. It felt like being with my family. The service is very professional yet super friendly and the small planes make you feel like you’re some kind of VIP in a private jet. Planes on time and very nice flights, not to mention the PERFECT landings. It’s a different experience with respect to flying with “normal airplanes” and I’d suggest it to everyone.
