Bought a bk15 e bike and while the…

Bought a bk15 e bike and while the motor is great the rest of the bike ranges from questionable to terrible the main issue for me was the shimano gearbox supplied whenever i go into a certain gear it jumps and grinds and bangs about completely ruining the experience i have tried adjusting it i dont know how many times but i can't get it to work this is the sort of thing you get with 20 year old rusted ild bike not a brand new e bike so tommorow i will have to ring the shop and send it back

The Shimano gearbox should not behave this way, especially on a new bike. In many cases, such issues can be resolved through a simple adjustment by a professional. If possible, we recommend visiting a local bike shop to have the gears properly tuned.

fairly priced products

it's been quite some time that I have been checking different E scooters to use for this summer. I moved to an up hill apartment and it's not always easy to go up with the bicycle. I found the racooter from this brand. it has a decent amount of power good enough for city rides. the battery also holds up quite well. last but not least The price is pretty good at just around 300 euros.

DELIVERY

The overall experience wasn’t bad its just that I couldn’t get the buy now pay later thing set up but at the end I bought it and now I’m kinda disappointed over the fact that shipping is taking so long. Now it’s says as well that the bikes arrival is being rescheduled. Just fix up the delivery and then I’ll be happy

Life changer

Life changer. Im so glad i took the gamble and went with hitway. Poor health stops me doing so much but this bike gives me physical and mental freedom. Its well made and their communications are great. I ordered a second battery so i could cover a greater distance which arrived in 3 days. I highly recommend hitway. Thanks. Kind regards. Ken.

An update to my previous review (7th May 2025)

As I have done previously with other businesses, I think it only fair to provide an update on my previous review of Hitway Bikes.
Their customer service team did contact me the next day by email (I have still been unable to contact them by the chat function but emails always seem to get a response the following morning)
In this case, Hitway were able to put my concerns to rest and I confirmed my order. It duly arrived a few days later exactly to the specified time. I had arranged for a local bike shop to complete the build for me and I moved it to them.

However, partway through the build, they identified a problem with mounting the gears because a manufactured part was slightly bent. I contacted Hitway and they immediately offered to arrange for the damaged machine to be collected and for a new one to be delivered in its place. However, after some consultation with my technician, who is a professional, he identified a route by which the small amount of damage could be repaired effectively. I contacted Hitway to make them aware and he completed that minor change very quickly. I have since taken delivery of the bike and I’m actually very pleased with it so far. It has lots of interesting little features which I had not banked on, but which make it ideal for the purposes for which I chose it.

Great bike for commute

Great bike so far! I've ordered two BK8S s from them and they're very comfortable bikes! My first one had some issues with the battery but after confirming the issue the customer service sent me a new battery and now it works again! I'd really recommend these bikes

Reviewing to protect potential BK2 e-bicycle customers.

This review is to protect potential BK2 e-bicycle customers from the following experience with the BK2 e-bicycle:
The brakes arrived the wrong way around for the UK.
Based on British Standards, brake levers wrong way around for the UK roads.
"The Pedal Bicycles Safety Regulations (PBSR) sets out minimum requirements for all bikes to feature when sold.
These are: hand-operated brakes arranged left-hand rear, right-hand front", etc.
In the UK:
The rear wheel brake is to be on the left-hand lever.
The front wheel brake is to be on the right-hand lever.
I've kindly suggested they fix this.

Also, constructive feedback:
Normally, an electric bicycle has an electric dis-connector somewhere accessible to enable removing the rear motor wheel to repair a puncture etc.
But in the case of this BK2 e-bicycle there's no accessible connector to remove the rear motor wheel to repair a puncture etc.
In the case of the BK2, the BK2 makes it an extremely complicated process to fix a rear puncture due to the awkwardness of removing the control box (the e-bicycles brain) from the small hole in the frame.
All the electric bicycles I’ve ever seen have an electric disconnect to remove the rear wheel, none of them involve such a user-hostile and laborious time-consuming process.
It’s clearly worth adding a rear-wheel disconnect plug to facilitate removing the rear wheel conveniently, that’s what all electric bicycles I’ve ever seen always have.
If I’d known how awkward it would be to remove the rear wheel to repair a puncture, I would never have bought this bicycle.
The bicycle repair technician agreed it should have an electric disconnect to facilitate rear wheel removal next time for e.g. a puncture / tyre wear etc.
I've kindly suggested they fix this too.

Regarding the brake lever configuration, you are absolutely right. In the UK, the rear brake should indeed be controlled by the left lever, and the front by the right, in accordance with local safety standards. We sincerely apologise for this oversight. Please rest assured that we have already informed our factory and instructed them to update the brake cable setup for all future production batches destined for the UK market. This change is currently being implemented.

As for your point about the lack of a quick-disconnect plug for the rear motor wheel — we understand how frustrating and time-consuming it must have been to deal with a puncture under those conditions. You’ve raised a very valid concern, and we’ve forwarded this feedback to our product development team. Adding a more accessible rear-wheel disconnect is now under consideration for future design updates.

Once again, we thank you for your thoughtful suggestions and regret the inconvenience you've experienced. Your feedback is not only heard — it’s genuinely valued.

I have had my BK35 folding bike for a…

I have had my BK35 folding bike for a couple of days. It came very well packaged, with tools and a pump. So within 25mins I was ready for my first e-bike experience, all I can say is WOW!.
From the initial not sure, I went to full on beliver, what great fun, a very capable bike indeed. I live in South Wales where Hills are on every journey. This dealt with them very well. Overall I am a very pleased 50 something rider.

Highly recommend five stars

Bike still not arrived after 2 full weeks

I have ordered a bike and paid for it in 3rd of April and the order was "on the way" on 8th of April. However it hasn't arrived yet (16th April) nor has it even reached the hand of the logistics company, and still no response from Hitway support.

Don’t bother buying it for the throttle…

Don’t bother buying it for the throttle because you will need to buy a separate controller box for it to work the original controller isn’t compatible even though there is a throttle connection attached to the bike it’s pointless won’t work

Please kindly note that the controller on our bikes has been specifically configured to match current standards. While there is indeed a throttle connector present, the default setup is not compatible with throttle use. This design is intentional and based on widely followed requirements.

The connector is offered primarily for limited use in private settings, and additional equipment would be needed for full activation. If you do choose to install it for such use and need any guidance, our customer service team is more than happy to assist.

I've had my bk29 for 2 months now

I've had my bk29 for 2 months now, absolutely love it, I'm disabled and can't walk far so I had plans to put a throttle on it, hitway couldn't provide one because of uk laws, so I sent an email saying that's the only reason for ordering it, got email back saying that they've organised one for me that will be sent separately from a different source, it came within 2 days after my bike arrived, up to now I've saved over £280 in taxis, up to now it's been fully reliable (got motorbikes so I can fix most issues), brakes squeak but I like that, I've also done a naughty on speed ssshh!! So I'm getting exercise,
It saves me a fortune on taxis,
It's eco friendly,
No waiting or concern if the taxi will arrive,
No worries if you've had a couple of beers (within reason),
It's given me motorbillity,
Winner winner chicken dinner,
I would fully recommend hitway bikes. 👍

Exactly what you pay for...which is pretty great

I've had my bike for about two months now and I've had a really great experience. The bike is exactly what I wanted for the price, and there were also some issues with the delivery but they responded to my emails really promptly and helped resolve my issues in a really friendly manner.

I can't say anything about how the bike lasts yet thought.

Hitway BK29S

Hitway BK29S: I had damage to the brake that was still under warranty. They responded quickly to my email and then sent the part from China to Germany. The installation was very easy, especially as Hitway sent me a link to a YouTube video describing the replacement. In this case, it is an advantage that the ebike follows a minimalist philosophy and you can do a lot to the bike yourself. If you don't want that, you should buy a high-priced bike from a specialist dealer for €4,000.
