- Nothing is clear. For this present, you need one of the 500 plans they have, and good luck finding the one that allows you to do exactly that thing.
- The UI is like a 90s computer full of viruses, 100 popoups all the time with fake promises.
- Its all engineered for you to spend on credits like many AI apps but this one won the award for being the worst.

Output depends closely on the prompt and the inputs behind a request, so describing the scene, the framing, and what should be happening in concrete terms will give you a more predictable result than a shorter instruction does. It is also worth running the same request across a few different models, since each one responds to detailed direction in a different way, and one may suit a particular type of shot better than another.

An absolute scam
An absolute scam. They advertise everywhere that they are 100% Free, but when you try to use your "free credits" (you get 10 when signing up), you are locked behind an "UPGRADE REQUIRED" wall. I set the video parameters to the absolute lowest options possible (480p resolution and a short duration costing only 5 credits) and tried every single model, yet it still blocks generation and demands money. Complete bait-and-switch. Avoid wasting your time.

That applies regardless of the resolution or duration set for a run, as the prompt relates to access to the model rather than to the cost of the generation. As for free generations, you may be thinking of one of the promotional campaigns we run through our social channels. Those give access to a wide selection of models for a set period, such as the 24 hour run we held recently, and they are open for as long as the campaign lasts rather than being a permanent part of the free plan. I don't think AI replaces artists. I think it reveals them.
As a creator who grew up having my mind completely blown by Star Wars, and now seeing filmmakers like George Lucas acknowledge where AI storytelling is headed, I genuinely believe AI production belongs in the hands of storytellers, filmmakers, artists, and creative people who have something to say. It shouldn't be reserved for big studios with massive budgets.
What Higgsfield has done is help level the playing field.
I'll admit, the pricing had me concerned for a while. It's easy to burn through credits after rendering just a few high-quality videos. But the unlimited project option completely changed my perspective. If I'm actively working on a film or commercial, I can dedicate a day to creating everything I need at a price that actually makes sense. I don't need unlimited access every day. I need it when I'm deep into a project, and this model fits that workflow perfectly.
The platform keeps getting easier to use, and the tutorials are genuinely helpful. I'd love to see even more educational content because every update unlocks new creative possibilities.
I also think a lot of us have forgotten how much fun filmmaking is supposed to be. At its core, it's entertainment. It's imagination. It's discovering a story and finding the best way to tell it.
One thing I find myself saying more and more is:
"I like the way I do it better than the way you don't do it."
It's become my response whenever someone dismisses these tools without ever taking the time to create with them.
Don't get me wrong. There is still an incredible amount of work involved. Great prompts don't write themselves. Great stories don't magically appear. You still need vision, taste, patience, editing, timing, composition, cinematography, music, and the ability to communicate emotion. Those things have always belonged to artists, and they still do.
That's why I don't think AI replaces artists. I think it reveals them.
The people who are passionate about storytelling will keep creating no matter what tools are available. The people who love filmmaking will continue learning, experimenting, failing, improving, and pushing themselves. AI doesn't remove that journey. It simply gives us a new canvas to paint on.
This isn't stealing creativity. It's expanding what's creatively possible.
We're still writing the stories. We're still directing the scenes. We're still making the artistic decisions. We're simply using an incredible new set of brushes to paint pictures that used to require entire studios and budgets most independent filmmakers could never dream of.
Right now, AI is a loaded term because people associate it with replacing jobs. I understand those concerns. But from my perspective as a filmmaker, this feels much closer to the arrival of digital cameras, CGI, and modern visual effects. Every generation of artists has had new tools that challenged old assumptions. The artists didn't disappear. They adapted, and storytelling became richer because of it.
So thank you to the Higgsfield team.

Billed me after cancellation, then invented a fake "processor fee" to shave the refund
Be very careful with your card on this platform. I subscribed, used it about 5 days, and canceled. Their own support later confirmed in writing that my plan was "canceled on March 2nd" with no charges since — yet my card was charged $49 on July 2 and $49 again on August 2. It turned out a second subscription on the same account kept billing after I canceled, and support repeatedly told me I was fine while it was actively charging me.
Getting my money back took days of back-and-forth through the full runaround playbook: first "you must have a different account," then "our Terms don't allow refunds on renewals," then a refund offer minus a "6% processing fee charged by our payment provider" that they claimed they were "unable to waive." That fee was fiction — their processor is Stripe (it's on my refund receipts), and Stripe charges customers no refund fees. The fee vanished the moment I asked them to produce the provider's documentation and mentioned a chargeback.
To be fair: they did ultimately refund both charges 100%, and the agent was polite throughout. But polite doesn't fix a system that bills canceled accounts, tells you nothing's wrong while it happens, and then tries to skim 6% off correcting its own error. I've reported the experience to the FTC and to Stripe with screenshots and receipts.
If you try this service: screenshot your cancellation confirmation, check your statement every month afterward, and remove your card from the account when you leave. Judging by my experience, you'll want the paper trail.

Fair handling of a refund request
I subscribed to the Plus plan and realised after the first monthly renewal that it wasn't the right fit – I'd used 60 of 1200 credits. My initial refund request was declined, since their policy covers initial purchases rather than renewals, which is fair enough as a policy.
What I appreciated was what happened next. When I followed up and explained the situation, that I'm from Europe, etc. the team reviewed the case properly rather than repeating the policy, and made a one-time exception to refund the renewal. Leo was clear about the terms, confirmed exactly what would happen to the account, and processed everything without further back-and-forth.
Responses came quickly throughout, and cancellation was handled as a separate matter from the refund, which I'd specifically asked for.
Worth knowing that renewals aren't automatically refundable, but the support team is reasonable and willing to look at individual circumstances. That counts for a lot! Thanks, Leo!! Give that man a raise!
