As an overseas resident I have to submit several documents to HMRC to prove my residency. However, the maximum size of 5MB in the software is insufficient. You have to scan all your documents in as one pdf file, then compress it using a free online tool. No one said that, you have to figure it out yourself. Also, the completion of the forms hip hops about and does not follow the format of the paper version. Not all box numbers are specified either. Apart from that, the final pdf looks better than the hand written forms submitted in the past.

It is now a question of waiting to see if HMRC will accept the tax return via GoSimpleTax as overseas residents with rental revenue in the UK are not allowed to use the Government Gateway facility.

My second year with GoSimple. I almost enjoyed this year’s tax return exercise,

Doing the forms is very easy, especially as I only have pension income to deal with.
Also, living in the US is also made easy by the simple to use form 109.
I gave the 3 star review as I found the pricing structure incredibly confusing and I believe I vastly over paid to simply submit 2 tax returns

We live overseas and using GoSimpleTax has made life so easy when completing our Self-Assessments. We've used the website for about 3 years now. Easy to use and takes away the stress of have we or haven't we done things correctly! Would highly recommend!

As my taxes are relatively simple and do not change significantly overy time, the software makes it extremely fast and intuitive to fill in the tax return. Well done!

Very clear. Very intuitive. Gave me a discount as a first time user even though I forgot to apply the voucher at payment.

Really easy and straight forward to use. Allowed me to send the SA109 form making life easier when your abroad. Really quick and helpful customer service aswell.

It turns a potentially stressful (and expensive) task into manageable by a pensioner!

Great customer service and easy to use software. They were very helpful when I couldn't work out how to do something and replied promptly to the online chat help service. Would recommend for anyone having to file an overseas tax return to the UK.

As always, very easy to complete the tax return via the Gosimple tax portal and submit to HRMC, good hints too.
One suggestion would be to change the colour coding from red and green for those of us who are red/green colourblind. Maybe a large tick and/or X to signify that the various elements were fit to submit or required further info.

Incredibly easy to use the web version. Struggled on the mobile but when I contacted the support line the staff were so quick to respond. I would highly recommend to register your self assessment and capital gain tax with go simple tax.

First time using Go simple. The software for first time use was fairly easy to use. The couple of questions I did have were answered very quickly. Excellent customer service

Very easy to complete tax if you live overseas and have a rental property in another country. My only issue - it would be nice to have more info about the overseas residency page and whether this needs to be completed or not. So far, I've left it out and had no problems.
