All staff were friendly and welcoming. Was nervous having a sight test done as hadn’t gone back for one but my girlfriend highly recommended these. They settled my nerves and make you feel comfortable whilst there. A mention for Josh who was extremely helpful in helping me select frames and ensuring they were a good fit. Both of the people that dealt with me in purchasing and fitting my glasses were very friendly, polite and helpful. It was my first time buying varifocals and they couldn't have been more patient handling my confusion! A bit more expensive than some of the standard frames & prescriptions in High Street opticians but I liked the choice of frames much more and I was happy to pay a bit extra to get what I really wanted - given that I wear my glasses all day every day!

Just recently been to Glasses Lab for yearly eye test and to purchase new distance glasses. My first time to the Beckenham branch. Just as the Bromley branch, the staff were all helpful and friendly. So pleased with my new glasses that I purchased in sale I went back for a second pair.

Great personal service

Unfortunately, the quality of the lenses was very disappointing. The frames and lenses are quite expensive, and the lenses are advertised as scratch-resistant. However, within two and half months my left lens developed small cracks, even though I handle my glasses very carefully.

I contacted the store by email but received no reply, so I called and was asked to bring the glasses in. They sent them to the lab and later told me the marks were considered scratches in one side and therefore not covered. The only solution offered was 50% off replacing one lens, which still means paying a significant amount again.

When we went to speak to the manager, James, he confirmed that this was the final decision and no further help could be offered. The conversation became uncomfortable and, as we were leaving, he told my husband that he was not welcome in the shop.

Ladies in the store all are nice . Optometrist Alisha is so nice.

I was told the lenses are manufactured outside the UK, and unfortunately the material seems not very durable for such expensive glasses.

For glasses at this price, I expected better lens durability and stronger warranty support. Unfortunately, this experience was very disappointing.

To reply to your statement, James: my husband was never aggressive. From the moment we entered the shop, it seemed that a decision had already been made and there was little opportunity for discussion. As soon as we arrived, you said/approached to collect the frame, which gave us the impression that the decision had already been taken. That means you were not open to discussion and you said you wrote your review which obviously you did not like and you were angry and not welcoming. We could easily see the anger in your face.
I would also like to clarify that the situation did not involve aggression from my husband but you were aggressive. From our perspective, the tone of the interaction came across differently than how it has been described. In addition, it appeared that the decision not to assist further had already been communicated over the phone by Jess before we arrived at the shop.
Unfortunately, we feel that our concerns about the quality of the lenses and the overall value for money were not acknowledged. The lenses and frames are expensive, and based on our experience we expected a higher standard of quality.
I do have photographs showing the cracks in the lenses and would have been willing to upload them, but the review platform unfortunately does not provide an option to attach images.
Overall, we were surprised and disappointed that the quality of the lenses did not meet the expectations associated with the price we paid.

Just collected my new glasses from Glasses Lab in Beckenham and cannot fault their team in the shop. No pressure selling and very helpful and knowledgable staff.

Much nicer experience than Specsavers where you’re constantly hassled to buy something!

Once again, faultless service.
Having switched to varifocals at the end of 2025 I couldn’t resist going for another pair of Cubos for my sunglasses.
As ever, Jessica was great at helping me pick the right pair and I am delighted with them.
The glasses were ready in a week and pick up was seamless.

New to the glasses lab, only my second visit, I found them polite professionally and helpful with every question I ask, the optometrist explained everything after my testing. Honestly, an amazing group, really comfortable experience.

Always great! Just collected my third pair of glasses from Glasseslab and have to say they’re great! All the team make you feel very at home and never rush you, giving you as much time as you want to make a decision on frames. They have a great selection and I can definitely recommend their Cubo range. All the team super helpful

My eye test was efficient and easy. The staff were all very friendly and helpful when I was trying to select some new glasses. My glasses also arrived very quickly afterwards which was great!

Excellent experience beautifully made glasses in Italy fitted with bifocal react to light very friendly staff I thought I’d treat myself to something special and I certainly left feeling very satisfied with a high-quality pair of glasses. There are cheap glasses in the world and high end good quality glasses in the world. I suppose money talks if you want something extra special. Delighted with my purchase. Thank you folks
