Dear DPD Portugal Management and…

Dear DPD Portugal Management and Consumer Relations Department,

I am filing this as a formal legal complaint regarding the serious mishandling of my parcel and the unacceptable behaviour of your customer service team, both via email and telephone.

My parcel has been marked “ready to leave the hub” for the past four days, showing no further scans or movement. Your tracking system confirms that it has not left the hub, yet customer service agents have repeatedly given me contradictory and unverified statements — suggesting it may be “in Spain” or “on the way” without any written confirmation or factual proof.

Despite the delivery date already being missed, I have been told simply to “wait” without any effort to initiate an investigation or tracer. This is a clear violation of my rights as a paying customer and a breach of DPD’s contractual duty of care to its clients.

Furthermore, the conduct of your customer service team has been utterly unacceptable. Representatives have laughed during my calls, refused to escalate my issue to a supervisor, and even hung up upon recognizing my number. This behaviour demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect toward your customers.

As the purchaser of this service, I am entitled under consumer protection law to:

1. Be informed of the current and verifiable status of my parcel;

2. Receive an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for delivery;

3. Have an investigation (tracer) initiated if the parcel’s location cannot be confirmed.

By refusing to provide this information or to escalate the matter, your company is effectively denying service paid for and obstructing a rightful claim process, which may constitute gross negligence and potential misappropriation of property.

Therefore, I demand the following actions without further delay:

1. Immediate initiation of a tracer/investigation to determine the parcel’s current location;

2. A written report confirming the last verified scan and the status of the shipment;

3. A formal review of the customer service agents involved, including disciplinary action where appropriate;

4. A written response acknowledging this complaint and outlining next steps within 2 business days.

If DPD fails to respond or continues to obstruct this process, I will escalate the matter to the Direção-Geral do Consumidor, the European Consumer Centre, and the Portuguese police to file an official report regarding the disappearance of the parcel and the company’s refusal to cooperate.

DPD’s handling of this issue so far is not only unprofessional but borders on negligence and possible misconduct. I expect immediate response

Why do companies still use dpd to…

Why do companies still use dpd to deliver their parcels, I don't think I have ever received my goods when they say they are going to be delivered. Maybe everyone should complain to the companies that still use them then maybe they would improve their service

Piss poor company which is no more than a bad joke ! You will be lucky if you receive 10% of your parcels.....customer service does not exist. I strongly urge you to use any other company. Reviews are consistently very bad but what I do not understand is why DPD does not do something to improve the very, very poor reputation !

Unreliable and unprofessional delivery service

I constantly have problems with DPD Portugal deliveries. My parcels are often sent directly to a pickup point without any attempt to deliver to my apartment. Today, the courier first agreed to bring my parcel to the third floor but then refused, disappeared without explanation, and falsely marked me as “not at home.” This is not the first time DPD has failed to deliver properly. Completely unreliable and unprofessional service.

The worst I have experienced

The worst I have experienced, they send only email to inform you the time of deliver and in the same day of the delivery, no calls if you are not constantly check your email, you risk to not be at home at the time of their delivery. You call them everyday and the answer is always the same they will delivery next day, and everyday you receive an email saying they will deliver next day, but never deliver, you call them and again and again and the the same answer they will deliver next day, one week already pass and still waiting for the delivery, still their answer to my calls always the same next day they will deliver.

Awful Experience

I am in Portugal .
The website will not accept my tracking number - it has the correct number of letters and numbers do I can’t change my delivery address.
It forwarded me to the chatbot ( hateful idea) which is only in French!!!
The only other option is for me to call France. Awful. Just text me you have my number. The site takes me around in circles that never connect. Who employed this company?

Repeated delivery failure

DPD repeatedly refuse to deliver to our address and leave parcels in a local store for us to pick up. On this particular occasion, my daugther´s party supplied were held by them in Faro for 4 days when the seller had specified next day delivery. As a result, the birthday supplies didn´t arrive in time for the party. DPD don´t respond to messages, they can´t deliver or even deliver on time. Please do not order anything online if these people are the specified courier, it´s not worth the upset.

Don't bother for delivery

They never notify about an incoming parcels or that they tried to deliver. You should somehow know by yourself where and when you can pick it up. They send packages back after a week on pickup point. Terrible service

I dropped off a parcel at a DPD locker…

I dropped off a parcel at a DPD locker in Faro seven days ago, and it is still sitting there, untouched. No movement, no updates—nothing. I contacted customer support, and they assured me they would look into it and get back to me within 24 hours. That was days ago, and I’ve heard absolutely nothing. They clearly do not care.

At this point, I can only assume the parcel has been stolen by the driver. How else can a package sit in a locker for an entire week without being collected? Meanwhile, tracking shows no progress, and DPD refuses to provide answers.

This level of sheer incompetence is shocking. If a courier company can’t even collect a parcel, what exactly is it in business for? I will never use DPD again, and I strongly advise others to avoid them unless you enjoy being ignored and having your parcels vanish into thin air.

Unacceptable Delivery Practices by DPD

DPD’s delivery service is beyond unprofessional. The driver arrives, rings my bell, but never announces what he has. Instead of handing me the parcel, he enters the building, places the package in the lift, and sends it to my floor—without any confirmation that I’ve received it.

Is this any way to deliver a parcel? What if someone else takes it? What if it gets stuck in the lift? This is sheer laziness and a complete lack of responsibility. A delivery service should ensure the package is safely handed over, not dumped in a lift like an afterthought. DPD seriously needs to rethink its approach to customer service.

I will be going to Deco Proteste to speak to a lawyer.

For the third time this year

For the third time this year, instead of pre-paid home delivery, DPD automatically send the parcel to their pickup point, which is located several kilometers from my house. They do not even try to deliver it home.

DPD refusing to deliver my package and stealing it in the process.

I have a package that they are refusing to deliver due to the “inability to park”. However, my building has private parking that can be used for deliveries and DPD has used in the past.

I’ve called them over the last 48hrs and the only solution I am being offered is for me to wait for a redelivery the “next day”.

Today I waited for the driver he looked me right in the eye and drove off with my package without attempting the delivery. He once again noted the “no room to park” even though he was perfectly parked and delivers two other packages next door.

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever experienced

Sent two packages simultaneously for same destination, which they stated should arrive 3 days after. One arrived quite beaten up but on time, the other no idea. I have asked the customer service status and was answered in quite unpolite and dismissive way. When I challenged if they know where the package is, they said "Yes of course we know! It has left the warehouse 7 days ago and is in transit". Whatever transit means... better to say that they dont know where it is.
