CVS breached my HIPPA rights by…
CVS breached my HIPPA rights by contacting a physician I had never seen to refill my prescriptions.
I have reported them to state regulators and to corporate.
Horrible!!!!
Bad treatment
I’ve relied on CVS for my prescriptions, but this recent experience was shocking. The app said I needed pre-authorization, but my doctor confirmed there wasn’t any issue. When I called the pharmacy, they didn’t clarify why my medication wasn’t refilled—they said I had a 90-day last time and only a 30-day on file. I asked for the 30 days, but the conversation escalated. The pharmacist, Alan, hung up on me. When I arrived in person, he called the cops claiming I was threatening, which I wasn’t. I was told to take my prescriptions elsewhere. This was distressing, and I’m deeply disappointed by this treatment.
In this age of endless screens
In this age of endless screens, where every story can be summoned with a tap and the world is crowded with dramas and re-enactments, you hardly ever come across a tale of the paranormal that’s actually about angels.
I don’t have a video for you. I have a memory.
On a day that was either dark and stormy or bright with that particular summer light that makes Southampton feel like it’s full of lunatics, tourists, and the people who live here year-round, I found myself behind the pharmacy counter at CVS.
And there she was — an angel named Angela.
Isn’t that funny? An angel bearing an angelic name.
She was always kind. Always attentive. Always the sort of person who would go a step further, and then another step, just to give each customer exactly what they needed, as if she were tending to something sacred.
Do you need a grand spiritual encounter to believe?
Maybe not.
Maybe what you need is a human encounter that makes you tilt your face upward and whisper, _Thank God._
_Thank God_ there are still people on this earth like Angela.
I thank God every day that I live somewhere where I can say, _There are still people who act like angels, while the rest of the world goes on acting like devils._
This refers to CVS Pharmacy in Pasadena
This refers to CVS Pharmacy on S. Arroyo in Pasadena, two blocks from the Trader Joe's. After shopping at the latter, I noticed the CVS and went it. I got an RVS vaccine immediately, because of my planned travel to the Far East but they were out of Typhoid vaccine. The pleasant staff member who administered the vaccine, saying she had 10 years experience, said they'd order it but it might take a day or two. I expected to call them to establish an appointment time but got an email the following day saying I had an appointment 2 business days later, after the weekend. I then travelled 20 min by car only to be told they had backordered the vaccine and somehow their SYSTEM created the appointment for me without knowing they still had no vaccine (and they weren't sure when they'd get it). They get the 2 stars for the RVS -- I wish I could give negative stars separately for the rest.
Out of morphine constantly
They are every month pretty much out of morphine pills they have messed up my entire pain management this time they are delayed 12 days they offer no help calling Coro is a waste of time this is the CVS pharmacy on Havana in Aurora Colorado never would I recommend this pharmacy to anyone they are also rude and condescending the Manager didn’t listen to my concerns about withdrawal potential because of them all he did John just talked over me
Irresponsible and incompetent workers
This refers to the cvs pharmacy on Shattuck Ave in North Berkeley, CA
Dropped off a prescription refill today, then picked it up later in the day . They couldn't find it, had to look forever all over the place until they finally found it filed under the wrong letter. But that wasn't the worst of it. When I came home and opened they envelop I saw that they filled the wrong prescription - some previous prescription that I no longer want and need that had a similar name. I checked the paper/refill I dropped off, and it was the right one. Now I have to go back and sort it out with them, get my co-pay back, get the right one, etc. These people need to learn how to read, apparently. What sloppy service, and very irresponsible giving people the wrong stuff. Someone might not realize it and be harmed.
Horrific pharmacy communication
I cannot fill prescriptions with you anymore. My family fills over $40,000 in prescriptions a month. This whole leave a message and you call back when it’s good for you causes me to miss other phone calls, answering your elusive phone calls while I’m driving, redoing my whole day’s schedule according to needing to sit around and wait an hour for a return call. I have had to drive over to cvs to get answers to my questions bc it’s faster than calling. That’s ridiculous. If you can’t answer the phone and answer my questions you don’t care about my business. I hope people just give you all this feedback and switch to Walgreens where they answer the phone or Amazon. I would give you zero stars with this leave a message system. I have been trying it with a couple prescriptions here and there over the last couple months but I typically pick up prescriptions twice a week and I cannot be wasting that much time. I started calling at 8am and finally got a call back at 9:33. It’s atrocious. This took less than 60 seconds at Walgreens.
Your voice message to cvs pharmacy isn't *yours* & could cost you a life!
Disclaimer:
I have no receipt yet and thus no photo but this JUST HAPPENED:
$$$$$$
Ever leave a voice message at CVS (for the pharmacy)? No lie: Your phone-voice message to cvs pharmacy isn't *yours*! That's to say, OUR actual messages are no longer are sent to cvs INTACT, but are reinterpreted by machine, THEN sent... To wit:
$
I just got a call back from CVS pharm asking me what I called about. I was SHOCKED to find out what the pharmacist told me: Artificial Intelligence (AI) restates all calls in "it's" own thoughts and words... so OUR messages are heretofore NEVER received as sent OR in our voices! W T H ?!
$
The system knew I had called, but botched the message so bad the pharmacist didn't even know what I was calling about - ie: didn't know the medication or details surrounding it. I had to repeat it all to him. What if I hadn't been available to chat? What if I was in the hospital? Ad-Infinitum.. This is PATHETIC!
$
This is a serious and potentially LETHAL turn of events at CVS proper and I can envision many lawsuits coming from their use of such a tainted e-service! How sad and pathetic.
$
I have had constant reoccurring issues/problems with cvs and this just takes the cake.
It is such a threat to reality and safety as to be literally unbelievable!
$
Every month they do more to discourage me from continuing to be a customer. After 25 years I am fed up with their inability: to keep records, follow orders, process the most current meds, input or maintain or keep med related notes in their "system", record or keep client instructions, refill meds properly or on time, remember to refill meds.... the list is atrocious just keeps growing. I no longer trust cvs as a pharmacy related company.
Tadalafil 5mg tablet 30 day supply…
Tadalafil 5mg tablet 30 day supply costs $4.85,
Tadalafil 5mg tablet 90 day supply costs $28.80.
No one on line or at the store could explain why. A 90 day supply usually less expensive per month than a 30 day supply. In this case it is 100% more out of pocket!!!

We've been using cvs granbury for many years. No complaints from us. People are always busy both behind & in front of the counters. A lot of folks have moved here & it slows some things down too. Cut them some slack, they're trying to keep up with this increase of many things.
Middle East Pharmacist
I've been using CVS for many years now UNTIL I got the Pharmacist from Middle East. My doctor has slowly increased the MG's from 20 to 40. The last of which was called in. He asked me in an aggravated tone.." Do you want 20's, 30's, or 40's. The last script was called in for the 40's. Common sense would tell you what the doctor was doing. I didn't know it was going to be a multiple choice.

Went through drive thru on 11-22-2024 at CVS Pike Road. Associate was rude inattentive and couldn’t care less about my services. Will have all my RXs moved to Publix where I am always treated nicely. She should not be allowed to work with the public!

The pharmacist is rude, denigrating and has a foul attitude
The actual pharmacist, Standly Assanga, one of the most rude people I have ever encountered in customer service. I went in there yesterday to get a prescription, he was on the phone. Another person was at the drive through and a third person decided they were going on break.
He stayed on the phone for a long time. I mean, this was beyond excessive. He finally decided to call for help, but there was no one to help him. Instead of putting the phone down, please hold? , for the people that actually walked in, he just ignored me and a lady standing behind me. I walked out, saying nothing to anyone.
So today, the next day, I went in there. Same dude - Standly Assanga - he looked at me and I asked if he was going to make me wait 10 minutes again. He had nothing to say, so I directly asked him if he was going to apologize for the lengthy delay? Nothing again. He just stared at me and then demanded my ID. I got that out and still asking him about an apology and his demeanor the day before? I eventually said, yes, you don't care. This is just a job, not a career. Taking care of people is not your purpose here. You .... don't.....care.
At the end of this, he said "I wish I had a camera to record all of this". I pointed at a dozen or so cameras on the ceiling. None of those record the voice, he replied. Ok, I'll bite: what is it that made you say that and act the way you are acting today? He replied that I came in with a foul attitude. No, I replied, I came in asking you about yesterday and that was still fresh on my mind. If i''m going to be treated the same way today, I'm leaving without my prescription and I"ll have it put in at Walgreens or Walmart, or maybe Kroger's. Oh yes, my co-manager (MY co-manager?) came up to me and we had a discussion about this after you called.
The man is obnoxiously rude, curt and even denigrating towards CVS customers. I mean, how did this dude even make it into this position? It was a big joke to him. If you want to be treated with respect, go to Walmart. They don't treat you that way and the only reason I was - and emphasize was - is because it's a bit easier to get in and out of than walmart. Or perhaps I can try Walgreens. All I can say is they lost a customer today.
Editing: Look at the average stars for this place. 2.5! I would guess that management and corporate have already heard about this from other customers before and obviously have done nothing about this man. The customer is always wrong...
Unethical practices and no common sense
My son got a prescription filled at CVS for a controlled substance on June 12 with a 30-day supply. The Dr. called in a refill 2 weeks ago to be filled on July 11. I called today (July 10) to verify that they had the drug, not really expecting any issues although there were issues with the first prescription being 5 pills short when I got home with it. Thankfully I called BECAUSE 1. they don't have the drug on hand although they've had the script for several days, 2. (I was told) Their "system" will order it tomorrow on the 11th (the day the Dr. had said we could pick it up) ONLY IF I call them back in the morning and tell them to fill the script. Calling today apparently wasn't enough. 3. They can order it tomorrow (after I call again) and it'll be available Friday afternoon (July 12) after 5:00. He's supposed to take it Friday morning. This is a drug that timing is everything.
It would be entirely too logical for their "system" to place the order the day before without the customer having to call to tell them to order the drug that the Dr. has already ordered AND to have the drug available for the patient to pick up in time to take the medication when they are supposed to take it. To disrupt a patient's prescribed medication schedule like this adds unnecessary stress and is also very unethical in my opinion. One day may not be a big deal to CVS but I can guarantee you that it'd be a big deal to them if it was their family. I have no doubt that between CVS and the government that tries to control our every move, to them it's perfectly logical.
I plan to NEVER step foot back into a CVS!! And I will share my experience frequently to save others the misery that I've experienced.
They wont take phone calls
They wont take phone calls. The recording says they will call you back in a couple hours and they didnt. So I had to drive to the store to find out what they said earlier (when I was there) was wrong. So no or very poor
Communication. I am changing pharmacy's.
Went to cvs on 733 s irby street…
Went to cvs on 733 s irby street florence s.c. 10/3/2023 to refill my meds. After waiting behind 2 cars in line for over 30 minute.we come to the window and were greeted with a big frown and and an crappy attitude as big as texas.she ask the birthday and name my husband gave her the birth date.and let her know we had two prescriptions . Gave her the name she preedee to tell us that we only have test strips . She was told that we did not have test straps. She proceeds to inform us that that we never had any prescriptions for the meds we told her we were there to pick up. i said yes we do, she said well you did not get those here along with sucking her teeth and being a jerk treating us like we were stupid. My husband ask her 3 times was she sure she had she right name. she proceeded to tell us we only had test strips. I told my husband I don't use f ing test strips. She proceeds to say don't cuss me .I told her I was not cussing her. I tell him I don't use test strips..he again ask her to check the birthday again by this time he had clearly repeated that to her 3 times also .So she realized she had made a mistake.(you could tell by the look on her face. So he ask her so do you have it or not? Yeah we have it .instead of apologizing like a normal decent human being. She starts blaming my husband for giving her the wrong birthday. And saying how there was only 2 of them there and she could have called out like everyone else and we needed to be nice to her and it was not ready yet and we could just come back in 20 mins if we wanted it. (She decided to punish us because of her mistake) Now mind you I had a text over 2 hrs before that it was ready for pick up. We drove 35 miles to get those meds and sat in line over 35 mins already. Never again I changed pharmacys. Boycott this sorry excuse of a bussiness.
