Parcel delivered to incorrect address

My parcel was delivered to an incorrect address and they could not retrieve it so they deemed it a lost item. They do not help you at all to retrieve it. They do not give you any information that will help you retrieve it yourself like a photo or address. I would steer clear from using this service.

No one is home..

No one is home... across the road from my parents' home one can see an Australia Post outlet... for mind blowing reason, postman takes the parcel 10 minutes away to another outlet.
Go there on the weekend, I provide id, the agent refuses to hand over the parcel because I don't have a bill that proves I like at the delivery address... well Sherlock... this is my parents address that I use for all my parcel deliveries as I am never home during the day.... This is not a first that someone gets a delivery at a different address.
To top it off, a genius at the call centre wants to charge me to re-direct.
Bunch of incompetent mob.

Australia Post doesn’t deliver

We’re do I start? We live on a rural property 15 minutes from the post office. We have a letterbox and a drop box at the end of our driveway. At least 60% of our deliveries are left at the post office with a message on the app saying they attempted a delivery. They take a photo of our letterbox which somehow justifies the alleged delivery. 100% of parcels sent to us via StarTrack are not delivered. Evidently they only deliver to city addresses. Somebody needs to inform companies using Star Track that their customers are not getting their items delivered.

Australia post, illiterate, incompetent beyond belief

If I could give these idiots a minus star I would.. The worst Incompetence I've ever seen. The staff are clearly illiterate and cannot read. At every stage they failed to read the address for Auckland New Zealand. The parcel was posted from Geralton Western Australia to NZ. It was clearly labelled. Here is the story via the tracking app

Australia Post fails to deliver

Australia Post has failed us all for years, but they recently reached new low. A parcel clearly labelled and paid for the extortionate postage was returned to me with no reason given. I took it back to the post office, where every detail was checked and no errors found. They would not post it Express to make up for the time. The same day I had to go to a neighbouring suburb to collect a parcel through StarTrack. That's another debacle. Don't use Australia Post. Use Transport Direct to find cheaper couriers.

No accountability and extremely poor customer service

Australia Post shows a serious lack of ownership and accountability when things go wrong. Once an issue occurs, responsibility is pushed back onto the customer, and staff repeatedly say there is “nothing they can do” rather than actively investigating or resolving the problem.

Customer service is extremely difficult to access. There is no reliable customer service email, enquiries bounce back or go unanswered, and customers are forced to wait excessively long times on the phone just to receive generic, scripted responses. Even after multiple contacts, the outcome is usually the same: wait longer, with no clear explanation or action.

Processes appear inefficient and outdated, especially for international services. There is little transparency, no meaningful escalation pathway, and no sense of urgency. Customers are left in limbo for months with no updates and no accountability from the organisation that accepted payment for the service.

For a national postal operator, this level of service is unacceptable. Australia Post urgently needs to improve ownership of issues, streamline complaints handling, provide functional customer contact channels, and train staff to actively resolve problems instead of deflecting them. At present, the experience feels unhelpful, inefficient, and frustrating from start to finish.

Don't ever use Aust Post Travel Insurance.

Don't ever use their "Travel Insurance" and try to claim. This will take forever, as nobody responds other than an AI bot. No phone calls made by them to keep you informed of the status of the claim, nor any on-line access, and robot scripted emails. After 16 emails and calls I am still waiting for an outcome after many weeks.

Australia post is the worse delivery…

Australia post is the worse delivery service in Australia. I have never had a good experience with them. They are absolute crap. What's the point of telling you when your item will be delivered on a certain day and then when you organise your day to be home so you can give them a signature. They change the delivery to the following day at the last minute.

I sent three carefully padded and bubble wrapped packages. They contained glassware for friends who attended our wedding. The packages were sent from Newcastle to Sydney, Medowie and Grenfell. Apparently because I declined to pay insurance and pay for special orange fragile stickers on top of the already very expensive postage costs, the parcels were marked MAKE SURE YOU USE THIS CUSTOMERS PARCELS AS A FOOTBALL ALL THE WAY TO THEIR FINAL DESTINATION…IF POSSIBLE, DRIVE THE DELIVERY VAN OVER THESE PARCELS JUST BEFORE DELIVERING!! My friends received a package of broken glass shards. Luckily no one ended up needing STITCHES after opening their COMPLETELY DESTROYED gifts. Do not use Australia Post, use a courier. A name change is needed, maybe CYCLONE TRACEY POST or GAZA POST…nothing about this business aligns with any Australian standards or values that I’m used to.

Always delayed from original scheduled delivery date. Called and always had to wait a long time going through their stupid voice system before being able to get through to somebody. Hired a lot of Indian operators who can't even capture the tracking number over the phone.
