Pay less than the price of a coffee for peace of mind and to find out if the phone you are paying on ebay, (in my case £700), is clean, not stolen, and most of all not tied to a contract that someone... See more

CheckMEND is a service that helps the public and traders to avoid buying stolen property. We prevent over £35m per month of stolen property from being traded. Consumers are always at risk when buying used or refurbished property; a CheckMEND search before you buy can help you avoid a nasty surprise later. A CheckMEND report will alert whoever performed the search (retailers, corporations, insurers, police or members of the public) to the item’s history and status. You may purchase a used item that works for months or years, but when you try to sell it to a responsible trader, their check with us shows it was stolen before you bought it. This proactive crime prevention doesn’t always make us popular, but it does mean we’re doing the right thing. In the unlikely event that a record reported to us is incorrect, we provide full support to resolve it with the provider. Please, don’t leave a bad review because you didn’t like a result over which we have no influence. If you engage with our support team, we will always try to help.

Really hard to contact, I needed a red flag removed and I have proof of ownership and they wouldn't do it. Really poor service

Worst company ever

Worst company ever! Don’t take anything into consideration and try and take your phone of you. When firstly you paid for the phone. And they insist that it is stolen and fraud. When you have proof from your phone company but they still insist they are right. Will be taking this much further until I get it back

Terrible is the best way I could…

Terrible is the best way I could describe it. It took over an hour to navigate the website and make a purchase. Perhaps the site is not “iPad friendly”. Little help from support. I was told to repeat the process.

In summary, I found the interface difficult to navigate. I had to repeatedly perform the same operations.

Anyway, I received my report in the end. Hoping that it will be easier the second time. If not, I will seek another service.

Checkmend is Good but Police will knock on your door if item you searched is Stolen or Lost

Checkmend is Good . I used then to check on a Laptop I am about to buy and result shows negative ( means stolen ) so I decided not to buy the laptop . I thought that’s all

But few days later 4 police officer turned up at my flat asking for the laptop that I checked with checkmend . I told them I only used checkmend to look at the history of the laptop and when it shows negative I never bought it

Be prepared .. if you search for a laptop or phone and the result is negative ( lost or stolen ) police will knock on your door thinking you have the laptop

CHECKMEND UNRELIABLE

IMEI is black listed on AT&T network yet CHECKMEND has no idea why it’s not showing up as blacklisted. What good is this service if it is unreliable? What a terrible service.
