Our group was so impressed by all of the reliable organization of great suggested hotel selections, the daily luggage transfers, and the selection of our Camino guide that the CaminoWays Team had worked with us in putting together for the stages we selected for our 7 day, 128 km Camino from Baiona to Santiago. We loved that if you followed the process each morning, that when we arrived at our next destination, everything was waiting for us. The daily half board for breakfast and dinner was brilliant as it made it so easy for departure and arrival each day, given that we were a group of 7 of us, which helped avoid having to select a different place each evening for dinner after a long day of walking. We absolutely LOVED our guide Maria from Doiro Guides. She shared historical info at the start of every morning, tips on keeping our feet in good shape, and stayed back with the two of the seven friends in our group, who were walking at their own pace. When these two folks got food poisoning she was right there getting them to a clinic and then getting transportation to the next city and hotel and offering info on the pharmacies in each town for folks that might need more moleskin for their feet, etc. Maria would also provide recommendations for lunches at our halfway point on the trail each day. I cant say enough about this amazing human being!! Thank you so much Maria, you truly made our trip so incredibly memorable!! I would highly recommend CaminoWays and their team to friends and family and would use them again for another Camino in the future!!
And big thank you to the team for all of the back and forth details you helped us with over the last year to pull our Camino together for everyone. Truly Amazing service and knowledge sharing over the last year in preparation for our Camino as well!!

What stands out is that she stayed at the back with the two walking at their own pace and that when they fell ill she had them at a clinic and the transport arranged before it became anyone else's problem. That's exactly what a guide is for.

Everything went really smoothly
Everything went really smoothly. They worked with me to build an itinerary that I thought I could achieve and it was just right. I was tired enough to need a siesta both day but not so exhausted that I was in tears. Most of the places we stayed were absolutely delightful. The food was excellent and CW was always responsive to my questions. The one thing that would have been useful is a brief introduction to the itinerary to know what to expect.

Maria was fantastic as a guide
Maria was fantastic as a guide. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable, she helped those of us who were slower walkers feel comfortable going at our own pace and encouraging us on those days when the hills were never ending
Lastly, I want to personally commend Maria when I came down with food poisoning and made the foolish decision to walk that day. Unfortunately, I did not recognize how dehydrated I was and needed emergency help on the trail. I don’t think my outcome would have been a positive outcome without her.
She is a true asset to your company .

Be kind to yourself about the decision to walk that day. Dehydration creeps up on people and you did the right thing in the end.

Our Guide Maria was wonderful
Our Guide Maria was wonderful, caring and inspiring. The one thing that was bad was arriving at our hotel in Caldes De Reis on a Sunday where the hotel is 2 miles away on top of a hill and there are no taxis on Sundays. There should be shuttles available on Sundays for pilgrims. It is very hot and a dangerous part of the freeway. I felt very bad for our guide who got no help from hotel , taxi companies or Camino Ways.

A hotel two miles uphill, no taxis on a Sunday and a road that is not safe to walk is a combination we should be planning around. We are reviewing the Sunday arrangements for that accommodation.
We are glad María was there. Handling situations like this is part of what a guide is for and she did exactly that.
Well organised trip
The booking process is easy. The accommodation is generally nice.I would have liked a nicer hotel in Bilbao, but the hostel was fine. It's great to have everything organised. It was a challenging Camino at times but thoroughly enjoyable.

For clarity, and for anyone else reading: the property in Bilbao is a small hotel rather than a hostel, with private ensuite rooms. The Spanish word hostal is a common source of confusion for English speakers, as it refers to a modest hotel rather than shared accommodation.
Your point is well taken nonetheless. It is a simple choice for a city stop, and depending on the time of year and availability, there is often a good range of alternatives in Bilbao.
We are delighted the Norte offered the right balance of challenge and enjoyment and grateful you chose to walk it with us!
Good but could improve
My experience with Camino Ways was good. They supplied what they advertise which is a well organized trip. The Hostels were pretty good except for one which didn't have a fan for my room and it was in the low 90s when I was there. If I could offer advise on what could be done better it would be to revise the way they communicate the itinerary. I think they could re-think their method of showing the itinerary. We had to stay 2 nights at the same hotel, twice. The process and km to be walked wasn't very clear. Sounds picky but frustrating to us. Other than that, they did a nice job.

For the most part, the service was great. The only thing is that I don’t think you should advertise five star and four star accommodations when your places don’t qualify. Also, it would have been nice to stay in the city. I understand we had a larger group, but it would’ve been better to stay closer to the city.

Dissapointing experience
All my correspondence with 'Camino Ways' was good before I set out on my trail. However, I was very dissapointed , although I was a solo traveller, that all of the chosen accommodation for me had no english speaking fellow travellers to converse with during breakfast ,dinner or other social evening gatherings. I had mentioned that I was hopeful to meet other people and that it was an important part of my whole camino experience.
Google translate had to be used to specify dinner times , transfer arrangements etc in many guesthouses. I was also the only person eating at one guesthouse and had nobody to converse with , which I found very lonely and dissapointing.

Very organized. 2 hotels I would not recommend to stay because the food and lodging was not good. The rest of arrangement was excellent. The response was quick during the walk.
