We had a great experience with Camino…
We had a great experience with Camino Ways. The hotels they booked us in were all good. The last hotel in Baiona was fabulous. It was a mystery. We left our luggage each day and it arrived at our next hotel the next day. Communications prior to our trip were excellent and timely. The only hiccup was in some of the walking distances being different than what we were told in our materials. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Mainly all good but things to note
We did a section of the Portuguese way from Baiona to Santiago. All accommodation was a good stand bar the last accommodation in Almenda Rooms in Santiago .We choose not to stay there and notified Camino Ways via email . We received a response the next day with action from them directly to the property . They issued an ex gratis payment to us with an apology from the establishment and from Camino Ways. It was not of a standard it should have been, unclean and mouldy accommodation was like student/hostel accommodation. We had 3 dinners included , the menu is limited and quite basic . One hotel In Padron the food was not of a good standard and we could not eat it. Also the Hotel Rosalia only took card over purchase of €15.00 , they preferred usage of cash which we didn’t have - it was bit outside the town .

We had an incident at the Hotel in Padron with one of our luggage. We have copied all emails with the Hotel Pazo de Lestrove and no one individual from your organization had the time to contact us and offer some help with the incident.
Also, we paid for the transfer of this and after it was stolen, at least you should give us some credit.
We will not recommended a company that do not helpmhis customer during difficult times.

Everything went to plan...nearly!
Everything went to plan. The accommodation was great with good wholesome food and plenty of it! The bags were delivered seamlessly from one hotel to the next and the location of each hotel was lovely.
The only thing that was an issue was the description of the blue trail coastal walk from Finisterre to Lires. It was challenging with steep climbs and descents with poor signage and no stops along the way. We had to ration our water! It took 7 hours and was over 20km with the climbs and descents rather than the advertised 16km. If we had known we would have chosen the red route!

A perfect experience
We had a wonderful experience with CaminoWays on our Camino from Muxía via Finisterre to Santiago de Compostela.
From the very beginning, everything was extremely well organised. The personalised information available on the website was particularly useful, giving us all the practical details we needed for each stage of the journey and making us feel well prepared without having to spend time researching every detail ourselves.
The luggage transfer service was impeccable. Every day, our bags were collected and delivered exactly as expected, always waiting for us when we arrived. It may sound like a small detail, but when you are walking day after day, knowing that the logistics are completely taken care of makes an enormous difference.
The accommodation throughout the journey was good and comfortable, and the meals included in our package were perfectly fine. Most importantly, everything worked seamlessly. We had no problems, no unpleasant surprises and no need to contact anyone to sort things out along the way.
That reliability allowed us to forget about logistics and simply experience the Camino — the walking, the landscapes, the conversations, the challenges and those special moments that make the journey so memorable.
Looking back, I realise that one of the best things I can say about CaminoWays is that we hardly had to think about the organisation at all. Everything simply worked.
I would happily choose CaminoWays again and recommend them without hesitation to anyone who wants to experience the Camino with the reassurance that all the practical details are in very capable hands.

The line that means most to us is the one about hardly having to think about the organisation. That is the whole aim and it is also the hardest thing to be thanked for, because when it works nobody sees it. No one notices the bag that was simply there when they arrived. So it means a great deal to have it noticed.
Glad the stage-by-stage information earned its place too. It exists so that evenings are spent on the day you have just walked rather than on tomorrow's logistics.
And Muxía to Finisterre and on to Santiago is a lovely way round. Arriving at the cathedral at the end rather than setting off from it gives the whole journey a different shape.

Worth every penny
My partner and I are not good at planning things together. Add in the last minute nature of our trip (1 month before departure), and the realization that we would be booking >10 different hotels in >10 different towns plus bikes plus luggage transfer -- yikes. CaminoWays was fast, easy, and worth every penny! Everything worked out perfectly: bikes, luggage transfer, hotels, even some meals. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Barebones Booking Nothing Else
Barebones service of just booking hotels and luggage transfer. Nothing more. CaminoWays changed the final days of my itinerary after I paid for their services, turning what I booked as one short day (for rest) and two medium days into two short days and one long day. It seems that CW couldn’t find accommodations in Atapuerca so I had to end the day’s walk 7 km earlier. Had I known, I would have not paid for three days walk and just walked for two. They were reluctant to pay for transferring me from my original end town but they later agreed. I paid out of pocket for the next day’s transfer back to Atapuerca. Other companies would have simply provided those transfers as the contract would have been to honor the evening stage towns as booked. Overall, the accommodations for the 14 day package were adequate and comfortable. Unfortunately one “three-star” hotel did not provide an electric fan (unlike others with no A/C) and the room was stiflingly hot; I left window open that evening and ended up with mosquito bites. Not recommending to 8 friends doing the Camino next year

Thank you for setting this out in detail, Teresa. There's one part we clearly got wrong, so let me start there.
When you asked us to add transfers around Atapuerca, we agreed to arrange both the transfer to your accommodation and the return the following morning. Through an internal error on our side only the first was added to your booking, which is why you had to pay for the taxi back yourself. That's our mistake, and we'd like to put it right — send us the taxi receipt at info@caminoways.com and we'll refund the fare.
On the itinerary: accommodation in Atapuerca wasn't available for your dates, which is why that stage finished in San Juan de Ortega, making one day shorter and the following one longer. Our records show we explained this before you travelled, but it plainly didn't land the way it needed to. A change that affects how far someone walks deserves to be unmistakable before they pay and we'll look again at how we set it out.
On the hotel: our Standard Collection is 3-star or equivalent, and air conditioning is genuinely uncommon in northern Spain.
We're sorry this fell short of what you expected and thank you for taking the time to set it out so clearly.
