The content is fun to work though and the range of courses is excellent. I had a bit of an issue with almost getting charged for a year subscription, but after a quick email it was resolved. I only ga... See more

Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

Excellent platform for learning and competition preparation
My son, Eduard, has been using Brilliant for over a year now, and it has been incredibly helpful in his preparation for international competitions. He truly enjoys learning on the platform, and we’re very happy with the quality of the content and support. Highly recommended!
Be aware of your renewal date
I've used this platform for a Year as a paying customer and was promoting it amongst my friends and colleagues. Personally I feel it's important to be a live long learner and the platform is supporting you with quality content.
The last few months of my subscription have been unused as we had to say goodbye to a family member diagnosed with cancer. It's been both financially and mentally pressing and I have to hand it to brilliant that they send out an auto mail reminding the upcoming auto renewal. I've missed it as I was just not in the best of mental health with what happened to our friend.
Brilliant will not send out the renewal itself which is fine, I've seen the paypal receipt and checked the platform, there's a request refund button with a mail address designated for requests which sparkled my hopes, also being a learning platform I was hoping they have some good customer care.
Unfortunately the reply I received has been the worst customer support interaction I've experienced to date. It's a short 3 sentence copy paste stating that every payment is final as outlined in the terms of use, they confirm my cancel for the next renew (which was done by myself just after writing the mail request) and that I can use my premium feature until the remainder of my current term (363 days).
I know brilliant can legally do this, it's daily bread is service though and this customer service reply was terrible, they not only haven't taken the time to understand the customer but also have not provided a way to settle in a different manner. A customer has missed the renewal, this happens to everyone at a time, 2 days into a yearly subscription and you can't offer to at least cut it down? That's not a friendly way of dealing with already paying customers.
Do not rely on support, if you sign up for premium cancel it right away. I usually do that but have missed out on it this time and while I was planning to go back when I financially recover but I'd rather not do that any more, customer relations are important.
Update: upon further contact with the support team they promised to make an exception and refund 11 months, I've updated the review based on this encounter. Can't grant 5 stars as there certainly is room for improvement but they kept their promise and the services themselves are very good.

I loved BRILLIANT
I loved BRILLIANT . It has a deceptively clever design which encourages doing more every day without it forcing knowledge down your throat. I'm 66 and I hated school for that very reason. But when I started BRILLIANT. That all changed, I was engaged, the lessons are fashioned in such a clever way , it made me want to do more. I also liked the competitive structure too. The lesson designs for each of the thousands of lessons and the structure allows for you to chose when and where you want to continue or take a break. I honestly learned more in two weeks then I ever thought possible. The great thing is I didn't feel scolded when I got answers wrong because there's a button to explain exactly why my answers were incorrect. The way each module is structured starts off in small increments and builds on what you have just learned. My only criticism would be the amount of notifications. They can be intrusive at times but then I found this can be controlled by tweeking the amount of notifications you get in any one day, in Settings. Honestly I couldn't fault this great learning app. If your like me and like to learn at my own pace and difficulty! Then Brilliant is for you, I found it engaging, entertaining and fun. I would definitely recommend this App to anyone who like me with a short attention span to give it a try. I learned such a lot in a very short time. Well done, there are some very clever people at Brilliant. The make learning feel easy.
Well worth a try.
Great customer care

be very careful about sharing credit card with brilliant.org. there is no reminder on billing and simply impossible to get to speak to support. all support responses are auto/AI generated. DO NOT share credit card on this site. All support responses are AI agent generated! There is no person in support. This whole platform works using AI agents that simply collect money!

Customer service
The customer service was very helpful even for my unreasonable request and they got my problem resolved quickly and nicely even though I was being difficult with them.
Log in issue
I had to resolve issue with log in. Sandy from helpdesk was professional and resolved my problem very quickly.

they don't warn you about the renewal at all and the app is not worth the money - you can learn much more from free youtube videos

Had some trouble logging in because of a mistake on my part. Made contact and problem resolved over a few emails. I would never have spotted my error.
Great set of courses and high five to customer support
I think Brilliant provides and excellent set of courses on different topics and difficulty levels. For me with a personal interest in math and physics and working professionally with programming, Brilliant has it all.
And for support, I messed up the renewal but it was swiftly resolved so all cred to customer service.

Very quick and effective customer service
Very quick and effective customer service.
I had an issue getting into my account, contacting customer support via email resulted in quick responses and a solution.
The app itself is intuitive and great for cementing foundational concepts. Probably more later on but I'm not that far yet

Quick and amazing customer experience plus a great product that makes learning fun
Opposite of brilliant. Missed auto-sub
I signed up for the free trial and was charged a $180 fee on my credit card after missing the auto-subscription email. I did not elect to annually subscribe.
The singular notification email that was sent regarding the auto-subscription was lost in my spam folder.
When I saw the charge on my credit card I emailed Brilliant and received an automated response (this must happen often). They refused a refund - forcing a one-year membership that I don't want.
It has only been two days since the free trial ended, and I have not used the app in those two days.
I am not optimistic about the customer service from Brilliant, as their replies to reviews on here are either stock or snarky. The company must make money off of people forgetting the trial has expired.
Don't get stuck in their expensive subscription.
