Easy to make initial appointment with…

Easy to make initial appointment with consultant but I had to keep checking with Benenden to ensure that I was covered for each procedure needed pre-op as well as for the operation

Benenden now seem more picky about the…

Benenden now seem more picky about the conditions they will help with. I found the app to be very confusing. I was approved for medical diagnosis for shortness of breath and given a budget of £2500. I was charged £349 to see a consultant and he said I should have an echo cardiograph £352 a sleep apnea test £852 and a lung test but I couldn’t have the lung test because I had to pay £297 for my outpatient results that was a telephone call. These items cost £1821. If you exceed £2500 you have to pay the excess. Each time I rang I was given different priced so I chose to not have the lung test.

Limited financial support despite 63 years membership.

Organisation responds quickly but limits financial support in some cases and not in others; which is confusing and makes one question the true value of membership!

As you know, we are one of the most affordable private healthcare providers, with membership costing only £15.85 per month. For the range of services included — GP and mental health support, diagnostics, physiotherapy, and some surgical treatments — we believe this represents strong value for money.
We don’t offer every type of surgery because we need to remain financially sustainable for all members, and some procedures are simply too costly to provide within this model. In addition, certain surgeries remain accessible through the NHS.

It is very simple to book a GP appointment. You can easily get an appointment the next day. The doctor called on time and took the time to listen and was very personable.
