My experience here at BC at this point has reassured me that this has been one of the best choices that I could have made for myself and my family. There is a lot of information for you to take in, but this program gives you the chance to slowly take it in and digest it. If you're still struggling, there is multiple different ways for you to ask for help or get a better understanding to what your struggle may be. This program is very unique, for instance if there is something that you get wrong on a test or quiz, it almost forces you to want to get the understanding right. Once I understood the reason behind why certain steps had to be taken for the requirements, then it made the big picture clearer. I advise any student of this program to just use your resources and you will be fine. Do exactly what's asked of you without skipping steps and you will be fine. Some people can follow directions and some people just don't. For those who don't will make excuses for why it didn't happen. I would recommend this course over and over again! Good Luck!

BC exceeded my expectations
I have been in the program now for a month, the tools that are given are not only beneficial for the cyber security field but in life. It starts by building character forcing you to become the best version of yourself, and the Boyd takes the lump of clay and molds you. I would say that the training is applicable to all fields in GRC, Risk assessment/Remediation or Information security. Not only is the program great but there is also a community of like-minded individuals some who have passed and others who are starting or going through, it's great to connect with them and look for pointers. There are some things I would search Professor Messer for but for the most part the information is easy to digest, and you can go through it as much as you need to achieve mastery. Really happy to be a part of the club! Edit: I have since passed my final and now I'm learning in the field through the internship, next update I'll have the job

What’s your Kaizen? Mine has been attending Baxter Clewis Training Academy gaining PCI DSS Mastery and the Authority Mindset to improve my tech career .. that’s Kaizen!
My life’s mantra has been Kaizen, there's always room for improvement. Whether it is for spiritual growth or a pivotal new Cybersecurity career. Every few years I get a new certification. Learning new things makes me feel good. I took an interest in Cybersecurity towards the end of 2023, and began taking an Intro to Cybersecurity Bootcamp, that’s when I first learned of PCI DSS. It was my first time experiencing online learning, and I honestly didn’t feel confident in the Cybersecurity Bootcamp, it encompassed a broad spectrum of several niches, and I had zero tech background so some of it felt incomprehensible.
I began looking up PCI DSS after learning about it in the Cybersecurity Bootcamp and found BCTA, specializing in PCI DSS. It resonated with me because I’ve been working for over a decade with regional government administration specializing in Compliance and Purchasing. I figured the PCI DSS Requirements to be similar in nature to the Regulatory Requirements I was used to monitoring for compliance. The methodology is practically the same! If it’s not in compliance, how long will it take to remediate to become in compliance?
As for BCTA program, it’s been a very good experience. On day one I was given a success advisor who has supported me throughout the first 12 weeks of the program. I have also been given a community of students at all levels of learning within the program. Which is a gem within itself to have such a wealth of resources at my fingertips. The community feels like family cheering each other on sharing our wins!
And to my surprise, Boyd comes on live zoom calls with us all for additional support and is not just teaching us the lessons on the modules. He shares his experiences, his insights, and how to do things that will help us to get hired, and how to do things when we get on the job. His coaching and mentoring skills set us up for success!
I feel it was a smart decision to have put the Cybersecurity Bootcamp on hold until I complete BCTA and land my first job in tech. One thing I wish, would be if there were a legacy membership to stay connected after completing the year of BCTA. I’ve found the community to be not just a wealth of knowledge, but also a tribe of like-mindedness all there for each other. I know I’d pay a membership fee to stay connected, and I suppose there are others who would do so as well that are in the program with me currently. Something to consider Boyd. Something to consider, just saying. Boyd, kudos on creating a learning platform specializing in a niche of Cybersecurity that is extremely important in today’s world shifting to a cashless society!

You have to look at this as an investment in yourself, just like you would college. There is no guarantee that you will receive a job offer after you gain your degree. This is the same. If you decide that you are going to invest in this program, then don't do the Self-paced Training. Go all in! The Internship is where the real value is and where you gain the real experience working with a real Fortune 500 Company.
Could you learn to do this on your own by reading the PCI DSS Framework? Yes, you could!
Could you learn to do this by watching YouTube videos? Yes, you could!
Would I recommend you invest in this opportunity? Depends on how much you believe in yourself and how much you believe in investing in yourself. I believed that I was worth investing in.
BTW...everyone that has left a 3, 4 or 5 star review I have either worked with or seen in the program, However, I have never seen ANY of the individuals who gave a 1 star rating in the program.

The Baxter Clewis Training Academy does a fantastic job in getting you started in a cyber security career! The course is full of valuable knowledge and you get to hear it right from the people leading the way. The interactions with Boyd and his team are always helpful and they try hard to show their investment in you and your success. If I had to voice a word of advice to those running the show, it would be to provide more in depth interactive training while going through the modules (such as reviewing network diagrams, firewall rules, etc).
