Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 981 reviews, reviewers had a great experience with this company. Customers frequently highlight the excellent prices and wide selection of tyres available, making it easy to find what they need. Many appreciate the simple online ordering process and the convenience of choosing a local garage for fitting. The staff and fitters are often praised for their professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency during the fitting process. However, some people were dissatisfied with aspects of the service, particularly regarding unexpected additional charges for TPMS valves not included in the advertised 'all-inclusive price'. There were also occasional issues with tyre protection not being provided despite being paid for, and some customers experienced problems with fitting appointments or incorrect tyres being supplied.

Easy online ordering process. Tyres only fitted yesterday so can’t comment on grip or durability, but they’re Pirelli’s - got to be decent, right?

Selling upto 5 year old tyres as New

I believe Asda should clearly and prominently state on its tyre sales pages that customers may receive tyres that are up to five years old. This information should be displayed before purchase rather than being buried in the FAQs, as many customers will not read those sections when placing an order.

Charging the full current retail price for tyres and then supplying tyres that are already several years old is disappointing and does not meet the expectations that many customers would reasonably have when purchasing new tyres. While the tyres may still be legally considered new, the age of the tyres is important information that could influence a customer’s purchasing decision.

Greater transparency at the point of sale would allow customers to make an informed choice before ordering. I am therefore unhappy with this purchase and would like Asda to review how this information is communicated to customers.

Tyre Protection (insurance) is deflating

Whilst the tyre price was good, when it comes to 'Tyre Protection', Jenni claim's is not insurance, but by every definition is insurance, they are crooks. The 2-star is an average, I'd give 5 star for price, but zero for insurance. Asda take money for Tyre insurance, if don't receive emails afterwards they cancel and keep the money paid. It's wrong they cancel, it's theft if they keep money for no service.

Non-delivery of pre-ordered tyres

I ordered two new tyres online from Asda tyres on the 5th June. I arrived at the agreed garage on the 10th June for an 11-12 slot to get my new tyres fitted and was told that they hadn't been delivered and I should chase the supplier.

I phoned Asda tyres who said they would chase their supplier and phone me back. They did not phone back so I contacted Asda tyres again to be told that the supplier would not be able to make the delivery in time for the agreed slot with the fitter at the garage. Asda then booked me another slot for Friday 12th at 3:00pm and they stated that the tyres would definitely be delivered on Friday morning.

The fitter told me during my initial visit that they had experienced similar non-deliveries of Asda tyres earlier in the week so I therefore phoned Asda tyres one hour before to check my tyres had arrived i.e. to save me another wasted trip. Yet again they had not arrived and so I immediately phoned Asda tyres and they said they would chase the supplier and phone me back.

Asda tyres did not phone me back so I phoned them 30 minutes before my fitting slot and was told that they could not get hold of the supplier to confirm the tyres would be delivered. I stated how unhappy I was with this situation, cancelled my order and had to order them from the garage at a extra cost of £42.97 per tyre. I said I would be raising a complaint to which the agent replied, "that's your choice" without any apology.

The impact on me is that I have wasted two half days when I could have been doing something much more productive than chasing my order and driving to the garage fitter. I have used Asda Tyres without any problems before so I don't know what's happened to your supply chain but I will not be using them again unless you can convince me that this process has been fixed.

My expectation is that the company I pay for delivering the product, proactively ensure that their delivery sub-contractors do what they supposed to and not the customer!.

Cheap, but also good.

Asda Tyres provided the cheapest quote around, but that’s not why I chose them!
They have an easy to use website, where I was able to choose tyres specific to my car. It was also easy to choose a fitter for next day fitment.
F1 Autocentres were great for fitting too.

Great service from Asda Tyres

Buying tyres clearly isn't a fun activity but Asda tyres had the best online price and I could choose a fitter nearby. The tyres were delivered 5 minutes late so I was asked by the fitter to ring Asda Tyres customer service and I can add that was easy to do and the lady was fabulous.

Very user friendly experience

I searched multiple suppliers before ultimately purchasing 2 GT Radial Sportactive 2 tyres (255/40/20) to be fitted locally.

I was looking for mid-range tyres and read many good reviews of the GT’s which praised their blend of performance and affordability.

Fitting took approximately 30 minutes and was done within the agreed time slot.

If the tyres remain at the same price point at the end of the month, I’ll purchase 2 more.

The TPMS triggered a short distance after driving away but this is perfectly normal after tyre fitting and only took me seconds to reset.

Systemic Service Failures from Booking to Refund

I agree with many of the negative reviews. Asda Tyres gives you a fitting date and time that, in my experience, is unlikely to be honoured because it is entirely dependent on the independent fitting centre, yet there appears to be little communication between Asda and the fitter. Why is Asda not contacting the fitter to confirm availability before offering customers a booking slot?

They should also be checking with the fitting centre that the tyre brand and specification ordered are actually in stock. If not, customers should be contacted promptly and offered a suitable alternative rather than being left to face delays and inconvenience.

My biggest concern, however, was the refund process. Part of my refund arrived on 4 June, but the remaining £60 had still not been received by 11 June. When I called, I was told that Accounts had not "ticked a box" and that someone had been off sick, but that it would now be processed.

In my opinion, this is completely unacceptable. Whether through poor controls or a flawed process, customers should not have to chase money that is owed to them. I suspect many people would not notice a partial refund and would simply move on. This suggests a systemic failure that needs urgent investigation and correction.

The issues around booking management, stock verification, communication with fitters, and refund processing all need to be addressed if Asda Tyres is to provide the level of service customers reasonably expect.

Dreadful customer service and not interested.

I bought some tyres for my Audi A4. I put the reg of my car into the search and selected make and model. I had the tyres fitted OK. Two weeks later my car went into to Audi for service. The engineer noticed the tyres and said I should not be using them. They are specifically for Mercedes. Stating they could wear badly and could not guarantee them at speed. I contacted Asda Customer Service and explained. The woman I spoke to was very dismissive stating she would do nothing as I chose the tyres. I said I chose from their recommended list. She still refused. She would not put me through to the manager. I emailed and this was ignored. I am now proceeding through my Credit Card to get my money back. Their Customer Service is absolutely shocking. Stay away from this company.

Further to contacting Asda tyres they state that I should have checked the tyres were for mr car even though I put my exact details in. They say small print says it is up to the customer to know if they are for your car. How poor is this?

I will now take them to court as legally I can reject the tyres as not fit for purpose within 20 days of purchase. That is Consumer Law. Their customer service is non existant.
