I would strongly caution anyone considering applying for the Reserve by DirectCard credit card.

I applied for this card on April 29 after being approved. Like anyone else, I expected to receive my card within a reasonable amount of time. Instead, I spent over two months waiting while my account continued to show that my application was “being processed.”

During that entire time:

* I never received the credit card.
* I never received any meaningful updates.
* There was no explanation for the delay.
* Customer service never resolved the issue.
* My application remained in limbo for months.

Then, without warning, I logged into my account and saw a message stating that they were unable to open and activate my account and would instead refund the $95 they charged me ($35 application fee and $60 program fee).

To make matters worse, they informed me that I now have to wait approximately another 30 days before they will even mail the refund check.

So let’s recap:

* They accepted my money immediately.
* They approved my application.
* They never mailed my credit card.
* They kept me waiting for months.
* They canceled everything without explanation.
* Now they’re making me wait even longer just to get my own money back.

After experiencing this, I searched online to see if anyone else had gone through the same thing. I was shocked to find numerous reviews describing almost the exact same experience—people being approved, paying the required fees, never receiving a card, waiting for months, and then eventually being told they would receive a refund instead.

That pattern is extremely concerning.

Consumers should not have to pay upfront fees only to spend months waiting for a card that never arrives. If a company cannot provide the product it promises, it should issue an immediate refund—not place customers on another waiting period.

This entire experience has been frustrating, disappointing, and a complete waste of time.

I cannot recommend this company to anyone. There are many legitimate credit card companies that do not require large upfront fees and actually deliver the cards they approve.

I hope my experience helps someone else avoid going through what I did.

Application Date: April 29
Card Received: Never
Fees Paid: $95 ($35 application fee + $60 program fee)
Current Status: Account canceled, refund pending after an additional 30-day hold.

My advice: Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere. And report this company to the BBB..

This company is bad news they’re full of it. They’re liars and their thieves.

This company is full of it. They when you fill out the application you are approved right away, but they want you to pay the fees upfront before they do anything else. They said that they would get back to me in 15 Calendar days. It’s been 14 days I log on and I couldn’t get into my account because they locked me out and they are giving me my $70 back saying that I was not approved but when I signed up, I was approved so they’re full of shit excuse as my French this company is bad news. They should not even be open the emails to helpdirectcard.com does not work. The phone number does not work so they’re scamming people they need to be shut down.

Absolutely insane

Applied, approved, paid the fee, now that was in march. Still no card. Went to log in and talk to customer service after they had been promising me the card was on the way and there was a mail delay, to a message saying. “We where unable to activate and open your account here is your fees, but we will mail them to you after a 30 day safety hold.

Approved, never received card

Applied, paid the dues and never received the card. It’s now over a month and I checked the website and it says they need to refund the dues. It stated I have to request a check and there is a 30 day holding period before they mail it out. Beware of this company.

I paid my fees on May 20th

I paid my fees on May 20th. I have spoken to 2 different people the last was on Monday June 29th. And they said that they were mailing out my card this week. Went to check today and now they are saying that they could not approve me and that I had to wait 30 days to receive a check. I should have knew something was off the 1st time I spoke with someone and should’ve asked for a refund then. This company is bull shit and should be reported better business bureau.

Do not deal with this fake credit card…

Do not deal with this fake credit card company. Applied got approved paid 35 application fee and 60 program fee for a total of 95 dollars. Wouldn’t take my Bank of America card as payment had to use Cash App should have been first red flag . Then said get card in 5-10 business days no card reached out said they had a lot of applications so will be 10-14 business days never received card or mailing confirmation. Reached back out which is very hard to talk to or chat with a rep. Told me to wait until the Tuesday which was another 4 days. Reached out today in chat and they sent me a message saying they couldn’t open and activate my account they would refund my fees by check, but have to wait a short safety wait of 30 days then they will mail my 95.00 out in the form of a check . Why is there a safety hold when they received my money over 30 days ago. Now u gonna make me wait another 30 days to get my money. I will be filing a complaint. The company is fraudulent.

First and foremost shoutoutto…

First and foremost shoutoutto Trustpilot for give consumers a place to voice our opinions and keep it 💯!!! (UPDATE) I did recieved several emails.
Lets back up this started way back in April this year and just like most of us they decieved everyone, lied to,
manipulated, scammed!! All the while these people, this company laughing at us clowns and to be honest I dont like to be a made a clown, fool or any other for that matter (back to that in a minute)
Started mid April was approved for $300.00 Credit limit, I paid the original $35.00 for " Processing Application, once I was "APPROVED " Only to be directed to pay another $60.00 for processing my card which i never paid then only to find out if I would of continued to the next page itnwould of stating that they will deduct $75.00 from my credit card to pay for the yearly fee. I have know been waiting almost 3 weeks now for a $35.00 refund which they say they have processed the refund. With all that being said I like to screw but I dont like getting screwed, now then this is just a suggestion this is what I have done as of today i have filed legal documents
1. Consumer Financial Protection
2. Federal Deposits Insurance
3. Office of the comptroller of currency
4. Federal Reserve Consumer Help
The document was very detailed from beginning to end I attached copies of all emails had it notarized and then I faxed or uploaded this document on there website. Here's the great part of this is I recieved a phone call from an attorney today and along with this attorney and myself say its time to put these people out of business for good he says that i have a great case to take this to court but what would even be better is a class action cival suite the more people who sign up the bigger the case and as far as im concerned its payback time!!!! That is what I have done and I am not backing down I know $35.00 is not a whole lot to most people, it is to me i recieve SSI & SSDI and that dont even meet my needs. Im taking my money back with interest

Keep Trying

Ok, so it's not a total scam. I was supposed to get the card in May, but it didn't come until the third week of June. I kept calling and using the online chat. They always told me the same thing, we're backed up, it's coming etc. When I got the card, I called the number after using the online activation prompt. Tried calling for three days, nobody answered. Called the other number they have and got through, was told that the first number I called isn't for activation. Was given (810) 775-2581 and still no answer. So I emailed them and they actually emailed me back and said they'd look into what the hold up was. The next day my card was activated and they had only charged me $75 for first years fee. $225 in available credit, tried buying something, and it was all good. So keep on trying guys, just keep at it, the 810 number eventually picks up. Use chat and email. Stay on top off it if you want the credit card.

I would give it a zero if I could

I would give it a zero if I could. This has been, by far, the worst credit card company I have ever dealt with. I paid the required $95 fee and was repeatedly given inaccurate information about when my card would arrive. After several delays, I finally received an email stating that my card would be delivered between May 27 and May 29, but it never arrived.

When I contacted customer service again, I was met with excuse after excuse rather than a resolution. I was also told that if I canceled my account, I would never be able to reapply, so I decided to wait a few more days in hopes that the issue would be resolved.

After receiving no card and no satisfactory explanation, I filed a dispute with my bank regarding the $95 fee. The very next day, the company canceled my account without my authorization and failed to refund the fee I had paid. Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing due to poor communication, misleading information, and the lack of a proper resolution.

Frustrating company

Frustrating company. My card came a month late. Activated online just for them to say to call to finish activation and noone is ever available. This is day 4 for me. I hate that I spent money to even start this process.

Pay additional $150 to activate card

IF you ever get your card They will not ACTIVATE IT without an additional $150 for some credit repair program being charged to the card. I waited over 2 months to finally get the card. I was approved on 4.28.26 the card didn’t arrive until 6.27.26. You can’t activate it on the website after you put the info in to activate it then gives you a number to call instead that no one picks up when you call the regular customer service number they tell
You to call a complete different number. 3 days over 100 calls that immediately hangs up or puts you on hold for exactly 5m 23s then says leave a vm. Just to be told they won’t activate the card unless they charge $150 to the card for some credit program. You have to pay 2 different fees up front then wait 2
Months to get your card another 3 days 100
Plus calls just to pay another $150 and still can’t use the card. RUN DONT WALK AWAY FROM THIS CARD
