The worst company I have ever dealt…
The worst company I have ever dealt with. After years with the company, and never missing a payment, I moved and closed my account. Suddenly an invoice shows up at my door noting an outstanding balance of $440.20. I immediately call them and get told that the invoice is from 2020 (it is now 2024) but they cannot explain why I was not notified of this old invoice. I escalate to their resolution team and get hung up on. I call back and get told that the invoice should not be billed to my account and that the issue should be resolved in a week or two. A month later I receive a late charge so I call them again and receive a completely different story on what happened but am again told that it will be removed from my account and not to worry. The cycle has repeated for months with no resolution. On the most recent call, I am told that the invoice actually belongs to the new homeowner and that they need to rebill it to them and I am also notified that all prior inquiries were escalated and closed out without any action taken. After again getting a late charge on my account and checking online to confirm the charge is still there, I contacted them this morning. I am told that this will be resolved but they need more time to work on my case (it has now been 4 months). It is seemingly impossible to get any ownership of the issue from anyone at this company. I would not recommend this company to anyone under any circumstances; try to find a local company that is reputable and accountable, Amerigas is anything but.
Theives
Theives! Not only is the propane $5 per gallon, double the price of 2 local dealers but there are added service costs per delivery of $25 not charge by other companies. I’ve now received a bill for $431 to close the account. $200 to pick up the tank, $100 service dispatch fee and tank rent for 6/1/2024 to 5/31/2025. The account was closed and tank removal request done on 6/3/2024. The 1st business day of June. The service order said tank would be removed by 6/31. Tank was not removed until 8/15/2024. On 8/16 the emailed final invoice arrived. I’ve been a customer for 30 years. Pre buyout of Northern Energy to overpriced Amerigas. Please don’t deal with this company
I have been (until now) an Amerigas…
I have been (until now) an Amerigas customer for over 30 years. Before they moved there operations oversees I had no issues with Amerigas. If I had a problem or wanted discuss my rate they were more than eager to work with me. Now that they have a call center and communication is lacking to say the least. I was charged a service charge which I was unaware of and so it went unpaid. However I was making my budget payment on time and for the amount they specified in their emails and texts. Trying to get answers from someone from the call center was impossible. By sure luck I got someone from the US and explained what was going on. That's when I was informed about the service charge. They also told me that to get a lower rate I should have signed up for there budget plan. I informed them that I had been on the budget plan for over 30 years. They also charged me late fees because of the unpaid service fee that I did not know about. I argued the point how can I be charged late fees when I have been making payments that they issued in the first place. When I canceled my Amerigas service I was told that I had to call them to get paid for the unpaid propane I had in my tank.
I rented their tank which they were to keep up to date and painted if needed. I took us 4 years to get that done.
Customer service is bad to say the least furthermore they are overpriced. My new company I am paying a $1.50 less than I was paying with Amerigas.
AmeriGas are crooks
AmeriGas are crooks. When placing the order I specifically asked about the price of the gas and any additional charges. She rattled them off and I wrote it all down. When the invoice came, there were three additional charges, essentially doubling the amount I was quoted. Get your gas elsewhere, these people are crooks. 30+ minutes counting on phone and they disconnected me.
AmeriGas is the worst
AmeriGas is the worst! The company had my home on a regular service route with automatic pay but they failed to check and deliver propane for 10 months. I found out when I ran out of propane. I engaged the services of another company who filled my tank. A few days later, Amerigas shows up and in spite of the tank being nearly full, they put in 10.5 gallons of propane and charged me $70.49 which broke down to $39.26 for propane and $31.23 for all the other fees and taxes. The effective cost of 10.5 gallons of propane was $6.71 per gallon. Very poor service. I cancelled my account and would not recommend AmeriGas to anyone.
Terrible company to get deliveries on…
Terrible company to get deliveries on time and one of the worst customer service representative departments that I have ever dealt with.
Getting ripped off by Amerigas
I just found out that Amerigas is charging almost twice what the other propane co in town charges. I knew it was less but not THAT MUCH less! $4.99/gallon as opposed to $2.55/gallon with the other company. Amerigas is a rip off. Switching to the other gas co.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. From the time I bought my house to when I replaced them they add bogus charges to every bill. I went with another company and was amazed they didn't charge for everything amerigas did.
Getting fleeced!
So, this jack@$$ company is absolutely the worst. Terrible customer service, overpriced propane. And price gouging to the max! There is a current class action lawsuit against these $(umb@gs! Everyone needs to join this lawsuit!
Terrible seervice.
We were on an automatic refill plan. In November we realized that our tank was empty (about 3%). The odorant was terrible in the house and several calls to Amerigas produced no results. I even went to their shop, but no one around. In desperation we switched suppliers and then Amerigas turned us over to a collection agency to pay for tank removal.
I want to praise customer rep. Sissi for exceptional service
I want to praise the customer rep. Sissi at AmeriGas Propane, she gave me exceptional service, and resolved the problem promptly and even left me an extension if I have further questions. Although I saw some negative review on this company, but I had a good experience.
This company is fraud!
This company is fraud!! Trying to charge me 650 for replacing a valve that the technician said I didn’t even need to have replaced! Btw the valve is 11.48 per their
Invoice! Still no gas and a 650 dollar bill that the customer service people on the other side of the world won’t change! Never ever using them again! Stay away!!
Worst Company....EVER!
I truly don't know how this company is still in business! I had been an AmeriGas customer for over 20 years, but this company went down hill….FAST!
First, I was on an annual auto-refill for our cooking propane tank, but no annual delivery happened and we unexpectedly ran out of cooking propane. I used to be able to call a local Amerigas office, but I have been told all of them have closed and now we have to call an overseas call center. I talked to an operator that was so hard to understand, I had to constantly ask him to repeat just to figure out what he was saying.
Secondly, the operator confirmed I was on the annual auto-fill, and they weren’t sure why it wasn’t scheduled (ironically, we ran out of gas just 10 days after the annual date). He scheduled a delivery the next day since we were totally out.
Two days later, and no delivery, I called again. This time, the barely-speaking-English-operator told me the that my auto-fill was CANCELED due to the fact that they no longer fill 100 lb tanks. Wth? No notice about this – just don’t deliver and wait for your customer to run out of gas?? And I would have to pay a $199 delivery/pick-up charge for a new larger tank. Um….no thank you! I cancelled and told them to come get their tank, upon which I was told I would be charged the $199 pick-up charge, as well as a $99 cancellation fee. I…AM…DONE!! Just look at all their 1-Star ratings!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Amerigas = Terrible
I just found out that they have been charging me $1.50 more per gallon than their competitors. And, I thought it was great that they were topping off the tank every two weeks until I discovered they have a $25 charge per delivery. And, I can't understand the thick accents of their representatives.
I'm switching to R.E. Hinkley. They sound like a good local business.
Bait and switch
Got a quote from several propane companies, Amerigas had the best price. Went to order, and they said I had to have a leak test done, because it was 2 years since I got propane from them. I still have propane in the tank, and they want to charge me $140 for leak test? They said it was a law, and they had to do it. I looked it up online, and they are required to do it, only if the gas ran out. I used to buy my propane from them all the time, but no way now. buyer beware.
Absolutely the WORST company ever
Absolutely the WORST company ever. They charged me 200.00 for an 'early termination' that I never signed up for, then said I signed electronically. Really? I have every email over the past 2 years, and I don't see one from Amerigas. I will gladly pay it, just to get rid of this blood-sucking corporation of leaches.
Called in for special Arborday price
Called in for special Arborday price, They delivered to wrong address, They want to charge 2.20 per gallon instead of the 1.89 on the promo.
Spent 2 hours talking to many persons who were not able to help, was put on hold many times, another person picked up and said so sorry and disconnected the call.
Out to get every dollar they can from you
Requested delivery with promotional offer. Propane at a discounted rate with free safety check (I called and was told that ment checking for leaks) I was not told someone had to be home. It was 5 days later (I work
& cannot be home 5 days waiting on a delivery) the customer copy of services left on my door stated no one home, found tank empty (tank gage reads 60% I was still using gas) The delivery driver delivered no propane. He disconnected the gas line from my tank to the house leaving me with NO gas to cook with ..and now I bet I'm going to be hit with all kinds of charges!!! I own my own tank!!!
Fraudulent billing.
I have been fighting AmeriGas over a bill they sent me for a propane fill which they actually did not do. I have proven they did not make the fill I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the attorney general consumer office and they still refuse to adjust my bill.
Very unprofessional company
Very unprofessional company. Their employees are rude. They price gouge for services. Had a survey done by their employee who was unprofessional and rude. Would NOT recommend. I wish I had read reviews on this company first!!!
