Amerigas has a predatory business practice

Amerigas has a predatory business practice. Takes eight to ten eleven days to deliver after they take your money. They prolong the delivery so they charge you 300 dollars for emergency delivery. This usually happens in winter when you need gas.

This Is Thee Worst Company Ever

This Is Thee Worst Company Ever! Do Not Enroll With This Company! Had An Emergency & Placed An Order For Gas .. A Very Nice Technician Came To Check It Out & Also, With A Full Tank Of Fuel .. After The Inspection Nothing Was Wrong So We Were Expecting To Have Our Gas Order Dropped .. The Technician Is Told By His Supervisor/Safety Protocols To Lock Our Tank & Do Not Put In Gas With Absolutely No Explanation! Called Customer Service And Call After Call Hold Times They Said No Issues On Our Account Gas Can Be Dropped Yet The Supervisor Of The Driver Is Saying No .. Even Worse Now It’s An Appointment Needed To Unlock The Gas Tank & Then We Can Call Back & Reschedule A Gas Delivery Date Just To Unlock It Is 10 Days Away & Unless You Pay The $300 Emergency Fee You’ll Wait Another 2-3Weeks Just For Your Gas Delivery!! I Log In Online & It Said An Order Was Placed For 1 Gallon … Like Come On Reps How Do You Not Catch/See Such An Error & Immediately Rectify!! I’m Sorry Customer Service Is Non-Existent!!

Bad choice on my part to pick this company

I wish I read these reviews before I chose this company for propane. Terrible service. They messaged me with the delivery so I got my house ready and waited for them all day, never showed up and never communicate with any updates. Same thing happened last delivery too. Don't bother to call their customer service. They don't know shit and they don't communicate with each others either. You'll have to depend on yourself to schedule the delivery and I recommend that you schedule a delivery when your tank is 30-40% level then you can just don't care when they show up. Terrible company. If there is option for zero star, I would have given them. Bad choice on my part. Looking to change to another company but I think they will screw me for ending service.

HAD service with them for 20 years

Had service with them for 20 years. Had second property, a large garage for collector cars. Needed a heating source instead of kerosene. Requested an evaluation. New Heater already hooked up by a professional. Line for the tank already thru the wall and threaded. Exhaust duct in place and hooked up to the new heater. Man comes out and wants me to move several vehicles even though there is space to pass by them. Then says he will be back next week. I don't hear from them for several weeks. I call and get tossed around from person to person FOR OVER AN HOUR. Finally get someone. She informs me that installation for the tank will be $550 for a tank that I will not own and they charge a monthly rental fee. NOTE the hook up pipes are already there and ready to receive the tank. Then gives me a date and says they will be there sometime between 10 am and 2 pm. I try and give a phone of a person that can l be there, not me nor my wife because we both work. The lady doesn't take the number because "we will NOT call ahead regarding the arrival". I explain we are upstate NY along the Canadian border and this is winter. There is a unheated garage there, not a house and they expect me to have a person sit there for 4 hours IN THE cold wondering when they are going to, or even will show up. Several of our neighbors have used a local company that gives better service and a better price. SO we are cancelling our contract with Ameri-Gas on the primary property, the swimming pool and also the request for this additional property. Goodbye Ameri-Gas

Non existent customer service

My experience with Amerigas has been a nightmare. No one ever answers the phone, in fact the only way to get in touch with anyone is to report an emergency gas leak. Secondly I was given an appointment for a site survey. I was given three reminders to be at home between the hours of eight and 12 on a particular day. No one informed me that this was not going to happen because of protocol that I was unaware of. If you were thinking about signing up with the Propane supplier such as Amerigas, good luck ever trying to get through on the telephone.

Horrible company, over delivered just to get more money

I ordered 100 gallons and paid for that to be delivered. They delivered 271.1 gallons and are now charging me for their mistake. I have called for two months and they have given me the run around. I've been in contact with the BBB also. They still want me to pay adding on late fees. They offered a small discount but still want me to pay hundreds of dollars for their mistake. I'm so overwhelmed and don't know what to do.

The worst

The worst. - call their 911 number when we suspected a leak after the tank was found on its side after Helene. Our house is not livable. Call disconnected twice. Now - month later I get a rental bill for the next year / no mention of whether they even check the tank or refilled it or what. Now I called again today to cancel service. On hold 20 minutes- praying someone answers. I inherited this shitty company from the last owner of the house. I would NEVER work with them again. 0 stars is not a. Option.

Predatory pricing

Predatory pricing, cannot contact customer service. Do not use Amerigas Propane! Amerigas, remove your equipment and tank from my driveway! I have canceled your service and since your tank is disconnected, will not pay future rental on your tank and expect reimbursement for the remaining 40% of propane left in the tank.

Surprise charge to stop using their service.

After being told, I would have to pay $140+ for a gas line pressure test to refill my tank, they have been serving me for more than 15 years, I found a new supplier. Called Amerigas to come pick up their tank and why I was changing service. They picked up the tank as promised but 3 day later I get a bill for $400 from them to pick up their own tank. Outrageous!

Disgraceful way to run a business!

You current Amerigas customers, have you looked at your propane additional invoice charges? Haz Mat Fee, Fuel Recovery Fee, Paper Invoice Fee, State Sales Tax, City Sales Tax, Local Sales Tax. Not to mention the high price they are charging per gallon for propane. The tipping point for me was the ongoing poor customer service, mostly based overseas somewhere (India?) Needless to say, I have moved my propane business elsewhere (Arrow Propane) as there are options, like, free tank delivery and setup, propane delivered at 2.10/Gal without all of those additional charges! Just state sales tax. And with excellent customer service and a friendly staff, how can you lose?

Communist systems at not work!

Customer rep. told me that she could NOT set up a del. as we didn't need that much, tank at 50% and a 120 gallon tank holds 95 gallons their min. is 100 gallons for del. She did get a service "advocate" to help me, in the Philippines. He set up a del. for us as we are grandfathered. Nobody in the local office anymore, customer service SUCKS, and now we have to talk to someone in the Philippines to get service? They no longer had our e-mail on file, what happened?

I wish there was an option for negative…

I wish there was an option for negative stars. Amerigas stole nearly 400 gallons of propane from me and then had the balls to charge me for removing the tank. they want me to pay them and they still owe me $1300.00 and refuse to pay, it has been over a year and all I get is stonewalled, now they have sent me to collections, I told them that I would pay them once I got paid for the propane they took.... even though they say that it is coming, I have a feeling they are just in the business of stealing from people.

Stay away from this company they need to be out of business so they stop stealing from people.

Be aware of Amerigas charges!!

This is the worst company, tried to schedule for a propane delivery in which the driver couldn't put the propane in and said it needed to be serviced. It took over a month to schedule a service call and when coming back out the service technician said nothing was wrong with my propane tank. This company had the nerve to charge me $284 for my propane tank to be certified without my knowledge and refusing to delete this charge. They are looking for any avenue to make money, horrible company!!

Terrible customer service

AmeriGas customer service is horrendous. You have to wait for a long time just to speak to a representative. There are several better options for propane, I'd highly recommend you avoid doing business with AmeriGas

I called friday 9/27 after hurricane Helene requesting to have our tank filled Monday 9/30 and told it would be filled 10/7 or we could pay an additional $300.00 and they would come earlier. with amerigas, they won't let you schedule unless you're 50% or less and we were at 50% on friday and like i told the awful customer service which i couldn't understand, we would be out Monday!

Price Gouging & No service

I am currently sitting with zero power in my home. I called Amerigas several days ago and I was told they would not fill my tank for 2 weeks as all their customers are on a strict schedule. I asked if there was an emergency delivery option, and I was told no. Today, I logged onto the website and learned that an emergency delivery is an option. However, they want to charge a whopping $450 for the delivery & leak check. My tank is a residential 250-pound tank. The fuel is in addition. I called other local companies and learned that these other companies do not even charge a fee.

Delivery drivers are great.

It's difficult to get a hold of them during off hours for emergency service. But I must say the driver went over and above service expectations after we had a hurricane hit in Lake City, FL. She was great. Thank you so much.

DON'T EVEN TRY TO CALL YOUR LOCAL OFFICE

This company will allow zero contact with your local Amerigas office. Dial the local # and you get the generic phone tree which routes you to someone in the Phillipines or Taiwan if you have a question. I tried to call them about a non-standard issue and that person had no idea how to answer my question. I simply HATE how they have dehumanized their customer service!!!!
