Currenty looking at 30 hours delays if I am lucky and looking at the logs the delays I encountered are nothing unusual. The very worst. An embarassment for Star Alliance and the country. Good grief.

The worst ever airline I flew with
Good International flight - Air Canada cheap with snacks
Plane was on time and staff helpful with good communication. Comfortable seating but lacking in complimentary tea/coffee or a snack. Almost a 6 hour International flight from Hawaii to Vancouver and thought we would get at least a free coffee, tea or juice. Then I board a 50 minute Air Canada flight to the BC interior and they are offering free juice - go figure! Some of us passengers thought it pretty funny. Air Canada don't be so cheap!!
ZERO ⭐️
I would give zero stars if it was an option.
Worst customer service in the entire WORLD.
This was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime. My Two year anniversary on a Mediterranean cruise with my wife.
To start, Air Canada did not load TSA pre-check on our tickets for the security line at the airport.
We had a layover in Montreal. On the way to Montreal our plane received a crack in the window, which I understand is unavoidable, and we had to divert from Montreal to Toronto.
We were going to miss our connection because of this and our flight was changed from Toronto to Barcelona… due to this we were packed like sardines into a completely full international flight. We previously booked two seats on the aisle but were switched into two middle seats for the new flight. There was no option to put our personal items below our seat because of two horribly placed beams under the seat. We had to sit with our bags between our legs for an 8 hour flight.
But here is the good part! My bag was lost for the first 24 hours of our trip. My wife’s bag (way worse) was lost with no trace for 48+ hours!!!!
It poured rain on us the first night here and got our only change of clothes (from our personal item on the plane) wet immediately upon arrival. So here we are in Barcelona with none of our clothing at the mercy of an outsourced incompetent customer service team.
Trip of a lifetime planned for months and prepared/packed everything needed only to be ruined by this Airline. Our FIRST and LAST time. You suck royally.
My fiancé's flight from Nashville got…
My fiancé's flight from Nashville got delayed twice. She didn't make it in time for her connecting flight in Toronto and no reimbursement, hotel, or car rental was provided. Do not fly with this trash company.
Air Canada lost my baggage and won't help!
Air Canada lost my baggage and after calling daily for 3 days, they finally told me they had shuffled the issue to United Airlines. So I called United, who said Air Canada was wrong about that. The United rep kindly called AirCan on 3-way and argued with them too. Finally, AirCan is going to "try again" to find my luggage and get it to me, and meanwhile say they "MIGHT" refund me automatically in 14 days for the checked bag fee and to call back if they don't (for reference, I've already wasted over 2 hours on hold with them).
Is this how Canada actually is, or just the airline? My AirTags are doing a better job of tracking my luggage down... my bag, which arrived with me per GPS in Austin and has been sitting somewhere at the airport for the last several days.
Also, their planes are outdated, including broken seats, and their customer service is crap. I hope they fail in Austin so a better airline can take their spots.
Stupid customer service representative
was talking to a customer support agent, she was not very friendly to begin with and then at one point while I was still talking about what my problem was, she sighed and hung up on me, Air Canada is just hiring lazy money-minded and some stupid people now. The employee dont seem to get in trouble for what they do considering how non serious they are regarding their jobs. I still had to get something done at that point so i called another agent and got what I needed, not too difficult
Deceiving website, bad customer service, planes with zero amenities as they want to charge for everything
Aside from offering zero amenities on their planes, their website can be very deceiving when it comes to additional fees that you only become aware of once you've purchased the ticket.
I purchased 2 tickets back in 04/24/2024 to fly from Montreal to New York. Those tickets were purchased within the Economy Flex type rate, which included a complimentary 23kg max bag per ticket. This is what the original Booking confirmation document outlined.
When we got to Montreal's airport, we were redirected to United Airlines counter as the operated the flight and they said we had to pay for the 2 pieces of baggage again, as it was their policy. They explained that even if Air Canada sold the flight, they operate it, so their specific baggage policy applies. We had no other option than paying on-site, but this charge shouldn't have been made as we had already paid for these bags in the price of the original tickets.
It was specified nowhere during the online booking process that a flight operated by a third party would involve paying for the bags again, as per their baggage policies. This was outlined
only after you've completed the purchase, in the booking confirmation document at the 'View the additional checked baggage policy of Air Canada's codeshare and interline partners.' which is deceiving.
Of course, their customer support lasted an entire week to let me know they wouldn't refund anything because this was a 'misunderstanding' and that I could check their policies in a specific link.
So there's the chance I still have to fly with them unfortunately, but I wanted to make others aware of what they can expect with this airline.
Lots of 1 star reviews are correct...
Waiting for hours for a pilot to show up, planes were messy and understaffed. Delayed multiple times with no excuse, "just a little longer". We have flown multiple big airlines and Air Canada is by far, the worst we have flown with. If you enjoy waiting in the airport for hours, if not days, then buy a ticket! But if you want to get to your destination in a timely manner, without annoying hiccups, do NOT buy a ticket from air canada. We thought the reviews were just from angry customers, until we got to the airport......
This airlines is Curse to Canadians
This airlines is Curse to Canadians, Always 100% of the time late, moreover when we gets late on the top of the delay Terrible. I ordered special meal they didn't provide me on my round-trip journey, and it's expensive airline for low service they offer.
I was awarded a free ticket to Toronto…BUT …
I was awarded a free ticket to Toronto plus my own payment of an extra one hundred dollars US due to an unprecedented series of delays and missteps on a flight the year before.
They “ lost” my luggage ,clothes skis etc so that I arrived Losing two plus days on the mountain and just only the clothes on my back…
Same on the return trip.
The following year ,realizing that Air Canada is lacking in any semblance of customer service I booked a hotel at the airport a day early before I left from Toronto to Calgary (cancelled flight anyway ) and a return flight a day after I returned to Toronto from Calgary on the ski trip..
That is two nights in a hotel at my own expense in order to avoid possible cancellations etc by Air Canada.
Next the return to NYC.
After being shuttled from pillar to post by AC staff unclear where to check in for a flight to the United States finally after many ,many missteps I was directed to the proper line.
The desks to receive passengers were undermanned ,indolent, and unresponsive to the lines in front of them to the point where it was almost comical.
I attempted to check in at a kiosk but was shut out.
Arriving at the front of the line, I was informed that I was three minutes late to check in!
I was obligated to purchase a new ticket at my own expense.
I reached out, not only to customer service, but to the higher echelons of the executive staff. No reply from the upper levels and the usual corporate drivel from customer service .
Honestly, after traveling 20 years or more to ski in Canada with old friends, this was the final nail in the coffin.
That includes the singular experience of having the oxygen masks drop and dangling in our faces as we plummeted to 10,000 feet due to loss of pressure on a prior flight .
I will, nor will any of my family or anybody I can ever mention it to fly a flight by Air Canada again.
Someone should purchase this entity and change the culture from a third world department of motor vehicles into a useful and purposeful addition to an otherwise wholly wonderful Canadian experience.
The worst travel experience at every level.
I cannot warn you hard enough to stay away from Air Canada. The poor quality of the seats is matched only by the poor quality of their representatives. Not only were we jammed into the international plane like sardines, every flight was inexplicably delayed. Resulting in missed connections (we landed hours after our connection left) and the complete inability for Air Canada to give us comparable seats on a comparable flight. I have been on over 100 flights in the past ten years with both large carriers and discount airlines. Never have I been more disappointed with every aspect of an airline.
They never leave on time...EVER!
I would like to inform people that if…
I would like to inform people that if they are thinking of taking out flight change insurance {HOPPER} be sure that you read the conditions VERY carefully. It is only valid until you get on the plane for your outgoing flight.Once in the plane the insurance is over.
One of the worst airlines!! DO NOT USE!!!
One of the worst airlines!!! Do not use!!!
We had a "pleasure" to fly by this airline, the first and definitely the last time. It wasn't a direct flight, we stopped in Toronto. Both flights were late, and we didn't know if we could make it to our cruise in St.Martin. I talked to the passenger in the airport, who travels to Toronto every three months, and she told me, that they are always late and often cancel their flights without any chance to get on another flight (it's what normal airlines usually do). This is not a private airline, it belongs to their socialistic government, which explains everything. The service on the plain was awful, they even didn't serve us coffee in the morning. The best part was, they lost our big suitcase and we went on a cruise without clothes, shoes, swimsuits, toiletries, etc. The ship was trying to get the suitcase to be sent to us to one of the destinations, they called them several times a day every day without any success in reaching someone who knew what they were talking about. One day someone called me and said they had my suitcase, the next day when the ship was trying to arrange for it to be shipped to us, they were told, they couldn't locate the suitcase yet. Thank God, we got it when we returned from the cruise in St.Martin.
I opened the claim for the delayed luggage and received the confirmation email with the case number and the link for checking the status. In 9 days I still didn't hear from them. I used the link they sent to check the status and when I entered the case number they sent, I received the message, "Please enter the valid case number".
Do yourself a big favor and NEVER EVER use this joke of the airline!!!!!!!
Air Canada has turned into a Junk Fee Airline
Air Canada has turned into a cheap "Nickle and Diming Airline". Keep changing the rules in order to extract more revenue. Just yesterday, if you checked in within 24 hours of your flight, you could choose any open seats available within the economy, or your booking class section. Now they want $25, possibly more if its a sun destination, or a longer haul flight. For me, they will no longer be considered a top choice when flying any more. That is just petty and cheap in my mind, and a money grab. Even just moving laterally to an aisle or window seat will cost you $25 or more for that "privilege". The "Customer" is not their primary focus, or loyalty. It means nothing to Air Canada, only profit. Joe Biden calls these “Airline Junk Fees”. This is for my flight from Fort St. John to Vancouver.
The worst ever airline .had to cancle…
The worst ever airline .had to cancle my tickets, they didn't refund me.they offered me open tickets despite I told them I won't travel to Toronto anymore and I won't use that tickets. So I lost my money. I won't recommend travel junction travel agency and air canada airline to anyone and I would never ever book tickets with them.
Overcharged for our Baggage
Our original flight, back from Chennai was changed by Air Canada due to Air Canada's internal problems of some sort. We called and asked for the same transit timings as we couldn't spend 12 hours @ the airport in Dubai. So, they issued another ticket through Air India (Up to Dubai) and we thought the issue was solved. We couldn't check in the baggage online, 24 hours before the flight time as it didn't allow us. On the day of our flight, when we tried to check in at the Air India counter, they were adamant that we had to pay US $240 for one extra piece of luggage (Instead of $100 Canadian). When the ticket was changed, no one from the customer service of yours mentioned that there would be an extra fee for flying through another airline. They are arrogant and very unfair.
Disgraceful service flying from Quebec City
Flew round trip from toronto to Quebec City this past weekend. Going there flight was delayed because of pilot scheduling problem. Coming back to Toronto we arrived at the airport at 10 am for11:30 am flight. Flight was delayed for mechanical problems and then changed until we finally flew out at 8:15 pm. It would have been faster to drive to Toronto. People with connecting flights had their journeys disrupted. When flights were changed people with checked baggage were told their luggage was dumped in baggage claim and they had to pick it up and re-check-in for the new flight. Disgraceful service
Disappointing Journey of Missed Connections and Poor Support
Air Canada's handling of our recent travel disruption was a complete letdown. Despite their terms stating otherwise, they failed to rebook us on a more convenient route, resulting in a missed connection and a 24-hour delay. Their meager $15 meal voucher for breakfast at a hotel didn't come close to covering the costs. Their lack of empathy and support when things went wrong made us feel like second-rate passengers. Avoid Air Canada if you value reliable service and customer care. #AirCanadaDisappointment 🛑✈️
