Currenty looking at 30 hours delays if I am lucky and looking at the logs the delays I encountered are nothing unusual. The very worst. An embarassment for Star Alliance and the country. Good grief.

Worst Food Ever

There was no interaction between crew and customers on the flights to Toronto from Heathrow and from Halifax to Heathrow. They delivered the food on the trolley with sour faces as if it was a real drag. The food was the worst food ever including frozen salad and bread roll with tepid tea and coffee (no lids). There was no alternative to even purchase a chocolate bar. Awful !

If I could give negative stars

If I could give negative stars, I would give all 5. A similar scenario is happening for the second year. The flight from Toronto to Munich, Germany, last year and this year Toronto Dublin Ireland is delayed by 3-4 hours in departure (last year the pilot was sick, and this year there is a problem with maintenance) and passengers who have to connect to other flights are trapped on some to other airports and destinations, normally at their own expense. It is a crime what this company has been doing to passengers for many years. If you have any chance to choose, run away from this company as far as possible.

Disaster

The customer service of Aeroplan and Air Canada is a disaster. I had over 500,000 miles and my account was blocked without my knowledge and for no reason and then deleted. I've been trying to reach someone for months, but no answers as to how, if or why. And I don't know if I can reactivate my account

Flight delay as a result of a mechanical issue

As a result of a mechanical issue, my flight from Vancouver to Toronto was delayed by 2.5 hours, thereby meaning that I would miss my onward flight to Dublin. The Air Canada Customer Service agent at Vancouver airport spent a lot of time sourcing 2 alternative options - the one I went for was a flight to Frankfurt and she also booked an Air Lingus flight from Frankfurt to Dublin and ensured that our luggage would also be transferred to the new flights. I was very impressed with her patience and persistence to get my wife and myself back to Dublin without any (further) major delay. We did of course arrive home a few hours after the original plan, but thanks to Air Canada's customer service agent, everything went smoothly from that point onwards, and our luggage also arrived safely in Dublin. Top marks to Air Canada! Ken Patterson, Moira, Northern Ireland

Zero care or compassion concerning a re-booking request. Rude customer service to begin with, different answers from 3 separate agents, hung up on twice after requesting to speak with a manager. Finally got an agent to proceed with getting a manager to call me by telling her I was recording the call. Two agents refused to provide ID number, one complied. I had two flights needing changed, the other was with Delta. They listened and bent their ticket rule, showing care and compassion. Fly Delta!

Air Canada terrible front desk service. Nanaimo

Air Canada terrible front desk service.
In Nanaimo BC airport, a flight attendant while doing our check in, an employee named Tanya gave us a terrible service calling us liars, when telling them why we didn’t take our last connection to Victoria, and that we did let the front desk know that we weren’t taking it. She just assumed we took off without letting staff know. And treat us terrible.
Luckily, there was another staff member that was very polite and did a great job.

really poor customer service

This airline delayed my first flight causing me to miss my connection by 24 hours. Getting customer care on the phone or online was impossible. It was only when we got to the airport that we got some help. They refused to pay any compensation for the delay even after the Canadian Transportation Agency ruled against them.

This company is the opposite of consumer centricity

This company is a shame. And I say that while I’m taking it at least 2 times a year, as I’m living in Canada and they have kind of a monopole here.
- prices are insanely high and for no logic but what the consumer search for: first complete disrespect
- they cancel their flights all the time to put you on others without having to reimburse or compensate you
- they never apologize when late, it’s never their fault (for a reason beyond our control blabla bla)
- their staff is so so. Depending. Too much depending.
- their premium eco is a joke compared to other companies as Air France
They don’t valorise at all their consumers. I never saw this level of disrespect of the consumer value and centricity.
And I’m telling that with an experience of +10 different companies and more than 20 flights with air Canada.
Last experience was last Wednesday, cancelling our direct flight 4h prior to it, we had literally to bargain on a 1h call (+40mns waiting on the line) to be on another flights (with 1 stop), we had to take a cab as we were now late : no compensation. Even not an excuse. Nothing. I even had to ask twice to be reimbursed of my eco privilege option I paid and didn’t get. At first they told me I can’t be reimbursed because I was “just” 2h30 late. Daaaa but you even didn’t gave me a privilege eco seat… A joke.

Avoid Canada Air whenever you can!

Avoid Canada Air whenever you can!

Canada Air is the worst and most disappointing airline I have ever travelled with. On a five and a half hour night flight we didn’t received a blanket nor a pillow. Entertainment is also not provided on such a long way. There were no meal, drinks or anything else. The stewards were blocking 2 rows and playing with their phones during the flight as they didn’t have to care for the passengers. I recommend to avoid the Canada Air airline whenever you have the possibility to choose another one.

Lost suitcases

I choose air Canada airline because we wanted to see Toronto after 5 days we going to Amsterdam and they lost all of our luggage that was 3 suitcases and 1 car seat. They find it after 4 days. I ask for e refund for my spendings and they said they were in the plain and it is Amsterdam his fault. What was not true. We check with the luggage department and they said there still in Toronto. Also it’s very hard to get in contact with costumer service when you call. They way back Amsterdam - Toronto we had to wait 1.5 hour for our car seat 😪 the staff are nice!

Don't travel with air Canada unless you are willing to check in and pay for all your carry-ons. No standard carry on fits in their box and they enforce it seriously to rob your money and force you to check in all your carry-ons.
We travel with many other airlines, including the cheap ones and never had problem with carry ons.

Rated 1.3 stars, that speaks volumes

How does a company this bad stay in business? How can the CEO and top brass not hang their head in shame.
How do I start? Well let's say that they robbed me of the last day with my dad and all along the lies and half-truths got sillier and sillier.
We arrived from Scotland via Air Transat (what an amazing crew and service personnel) and had a few hours to kill as we were early. We tried checking our bag to be told no and handed two $15 meal vouchers. The woman didn't even look up when she said "flights delayed.....NEXT"
Let's backtrack a bit, my mother called.to let us know my dad was gravely ill and we needed to fly in asap. Bought tickets online. £500 for the Air Transat 7 hour flight with two complimentary meals but Air Canada was $2000 for a 1.5 hour flight with a free beer.

Well we got to Toronto and watched our flight get delayed again and again. I actually pleaded my case with them and told them if the flight was going to be cancelled I needed to know asap so I could get an Uber to billy bishop and catch a porter flight. I was assured our flight was just running 'a bit' behind. I was in a panic because the last time we used Air Canada we were stuck in Toronto for Three days and two nights due to cancellations and managed to arrive two hours before my daughter's wedding (oh by the way when that flight was cancelled and Air Canaduh employee told us "air Canada no longer flies in rainy conditions" and one of the group we were in asked her to repeat that and managed to record her saying the same thing on his phone,)
.....as I kept receiving texts from my mother about my dad slipping in and out of consciousness I asked at the desk again saying I needed to know.......well at 1am they announced there was no plane to board and we wpuld be put up in a local hotel and given $30 in vouchers...in Pearson $30 gets you one order of fries and gravy...we got to the hotel and while in a line to book in received a text to say we had been rebooked on a flight the following evening. I tried porter but by this time everything was sold out and we had to sit in this hotel as my mum dealt with my dad's last day alone. We checked out of the hotel at 6am to see if we could get on an earlier flight but the people we were talking to had also been delayed but they had to stay another day and a half. There were no flights and we were told we should be happy we got the flight we did. I don't know about you but when a company cancels your $2000 flights a day and a half and gives you enough meals vouchers for a tictac I don't think they are doing me any favours. So we eventually did get in to see my dad at 11pm that evening but by the time we arrived he had slipped into a coma and died 3 hours later. I'm sure Air Canada would say I should be very thankful for making it on time but I see it as missing out on my father's last day.
I would strongly suggest everyone who needs to fly inside Canada arrives at Pearson and gets an Uber (we were quoted $60) to billy bishop and uses Porter Airlines. Sadly we had already booked our AC tickets to fly home last weekend but by some miracle the flight was on time. As someone who fly's Scotland to thunder bay often it was my first AC flight that was on time in 10 attempts.

If you have the means and the time avoid this horrible airline at all costs. As god is my witness I will never fly Air Cant-ada again!!!

AC is consistently the worst airline…

AC is consistently the worst airline I’ve flown. This trip, I booked tickets expecting to get to my destination on a certain time and day. Months after I booked they cancelled the flight and rebooked it to much later in the day so instead of arriving at 5:00pm we were scheduled to land at 12:00am. The day of the flight they delayed it and hour and then another half an hour. Checking in we were told we wouldn’t make our connecting flight so they rebooked us for the next morning. As it turns out, we could have made our connection but alas, our bags were already removed and we were stuck. We got to a hotel at 11pm and went to sleep only to wake up at 5am to get ready to go only to see the email AC sent at 1:00am informing us our 8:30am flight was cancelled due to “crew issues”. We were rebooked for 3:30pm that day. We effectively lost an entire day of our vacation due to incompetence in scheduling. Unfortunately, because competition in Canada’s airline industry is non existent I’ll have to fly AC again at some point knowing that it’ll be another brutal experience.
*Edit
My travel back, one of two flights delayed 2 hours and one of my bags didn’t make it to the final destination. Not even surprised.

Since the last 4 years 75% of my flights with AC are always delayed or cancelled. I fly often for business or leisure reason with multiple airlines and in all ways AC is the worst. My current flight to Bruxelles is delayed since they have no pilot! Flight is delayed by more than 2 hours now. I’m in business class and they have not even offer wine or beer. Sad since the crew have no power but AC don’t care about their customers. I just try to imagine how they treat people in the rest of the plane. Just amazing how a company is so cheap and I paid over 5000$ for this flight.

I paid for three seats

I paid for three seats. One person didn't come, but the seat was already paid for and I understood no refunds, therefore, just going to spread out over the flight, BUT air canada resold the seat ( collected two fares) and refused to refund me. Therefore we had a complete stranger placed between us.
