Currenty looking at 30 hours delays if I am lucky and looking at the logs the delays I encountered are nothing unusual. The very worst. An embarassment for Star Alliance and the country. Good grief.

I dont know where to start
I dont know where to start, from air canada employees very rude and arrogant, would not even listen to our concerns, cut you off, and it was their way or no way, we booked all inclusive over 5500$ and couldn't sit together on the plane, with out paying additional charges will listen here air canada I already paid enough and I'll never ever book with air canada again I had a trip booked for may I canceled it, also extreme lay overs and wouldn't accommodate even if I paid extra to go on stand by, also when educating your employees teach them manors
Absolutely Terrible Experience – Will Never Fly Air Canada Again! tely Terrible Experience
Absolutely Terrible Experience – Will Never Fly Air Canada Again!
I honestly can’t even begin to describe how awful my experience with Air Canada was. If I could rate it zero stars, I would. From the moment I stepped into the airport, it was clear this airline couldn’t care less about its passengers.
First off, the customer service was an absolute joke. I was met with rude, unhelpful staff who acted like they couldn’t be bothered to do their job and told me I was wrong whenever explaining them my problem. When I asked about my cancelled flight, I was given vague answers and zero empathy, no clear way to explain my problem, no email to write to and a helpline that doesn't work. It's clear that Air Canada trains its employees to ignore passengers rather than assist them.
After my flight was cancelled çi was left with no answer or email for 24 hours later without any way to change the Flight that was asignes to me or compensation. No updates, no apologies, and no effort made to make up for the inconvenience. It's as if they think passengers have nothing better to do than wait around indefinitely while they play with their schedules.
As for the plane itself? A cramped, uncomfortable nightmare. The seats were so small, I couldn’t even get comfortable, and the onboard service was just as bad as everything else, on the rescheduled flight I was not provided with any meal and had to wait for landing to finally have some food, at my expense once again. It’s shocking that they even think it’s acceptable to charge full price for such a terrible experience.
If you value your time, comfort, and sanity, do yourself a favor and avoid Air Canada at all costs. There are so many better options out there.
Worst experience with an airline
Worst trip. Ever. Started with my disabled mother being abandoned at the checkin in a wheelchair that was requested to get her to the gate. My daughter and I had to manage 3 carry-ons, her walker, and the wheelchair to get to the gate on time. Flight to Montreal over half hour delayed boarding. The plane was offboarding passengers when we were supposed to be boarding. Ended up 2 hours late to connecting flight due to onboard medical emergency, which was unpreventable. Airline had us rebooked prior to arriving in Montreal, which was great, however, it was 8 hours later and required a stop in Toronto. We arrived in QC 12 hours later than planned, losing an entire day. In addition, talked into checking carry-ons from Montreal. Baggage didn't make it to QC until 7 hours after we got there. Return flight from QC to connection in Toronto cancelled. Rebooked for a flight 8 hours later. Arrived home 12 hours later than scheduled requiring an extra day of paid parking, and dog board. In addition, EVERY SINGLE flight was minimum 30 minutes delayed boarding. All but once was due to the plane's prior flight being late.
Worse flight ever
Where do I start, xmas day flight, entertainment system down, rude cabin crew wanted us all to go to sleep on 3pm flight, worse flight ive ever been on, please don't book with air canada over priced and awful.
I travel to canada lots of times a year, never again with this air line
I had a very disappointing experience…
I had a very disappointing experience with Air Canada. Our flight to London was delayed for nearly 4 hours. We had to pay for the lounge access as we had to wait for ages. When we enter into the plane, in my seat the TV was not working. When I raised this with the staff, they were very accommodating and took our complains seriously, however they could not do much as there was no other alternative seating as the plane was packed. For an airline of this caliber, I expected much better comfort and a smoother experience. Unfortunately, I won’t be looking forward to flying with Air Canada again anytime soon.
Would give 0 stars if possible
Unfortunately, I had the worst experience flying with Air Canada. The flight got delayed, and the employees were super rude. Also, I fell asleep during the flight and they didn't give me any food, while other customers were sleeping and the flight attendants left the food on their trays. Wouldn't recommend!
Worst Airline i ever traveled with
Worst Airline i ever traveled with. Unaware that a 5.5 hours flight would be considered a short flight and run by "domestic airline". Traveled to Mexico with my hubby and 2 kids 3 and 7. Our flight from YUL was at 9.30 so we left home at 5.30. Once we checked in we waited at airport for almost 3.30 hours before boarding started. Kiddos had some snacks at airport me and my hubby had some coffee. Once on board and almost 20.minutes into flight they started serving. I was hungry as you can imagine not having had a proper breakfast in the morning, when I got a shocker!! The meals had to be purchased on flight!!! When I booked my flight no where did they mentioned that meals would not be free, if they did then I am sure it will be in small characters and in places no one really reads.
Point is if it was a 2-3hr flight then I can understand paying for meals but 5.5 hour flight is long to me and they should atleast provide 1 time free meal. I never imagine Air canada was so poor and not to mention the grumpy faces of the hostesses. Not welcoming at all. Never travelling with AC again.i would have given half star only if possible. Half star for the package tour and transfer at airport.
Everytime I think about flying Air…
Everytime I think about flying Air Canada, I read another news story that reflects my past experience with them which wasn't good. Their services should be better regulated as they do not appear to regulate themselves. It's been years since I have used them but I won't be trying again anytime soon until I hear they are interested in taking customer complaints and refunds (where reasonable) seriously.

Zero start for this airline
I will never book again with this rude service
Air Canada: A Journey of Disappointment and Frustration
My recent experience flying with Air Canada from Vancouver to North Sydney, Nova Scotia, was nothing short of a travel nightmare. What should have been a simple journey evolved into a four-day ordeal filled with delays, poor communication, and an alarming lack of accountability from the airline.
The troubles began after a smooth flight from Vancouver to Toronto. On the second leg of my journey, the flight from Toronto to Sydney, Nova Scotia, took a disastrous turn. As we approached landing in Sydney, the pilot informed us he could not land due to heavy fog. Instead of proceeding to our destination, we hovered in the air for nearly 50 minutes, only to be forced into an emergency landing in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Upon landing in Moncton, we sat on the runway for over an hour while the crew figured out what to do next. Frustration among passengers mounted, particularly as some chose to disembark rather than remain in limbo. Naturally, we hoped the pilot would continue to Sydney after learning that the weather there had improved. However, we were shocked when he announced that we would be returning to Toronto instead.
This left us stranded overnight at Toronto Pearson Airport. While Air Canada provided hotel and meal vouchers—which, while appreciated—did little to truly compensate for the distress and inconvenience we had faced. Such gestures feel hollow when weighed against the stress of missed connections and chaotic travel.
The following day, without any prior consultation, Air Canada rebooked me on a flight for 5 PM with a layover in Montreal, even as others were booked on earlier flights, despite my requests based on the urgency of my journey. When I finally boarded the plane to Montreal, we sat on the tarmac for nearly two hours with no legitimate explanation for the delay. After finally taking off, we were informed that my connecting flight to Sydney had already left by the time we arrived in Montreal, necessitating yet another night away from my destination.
The next morning, instead of proceeding to Sydney, we were rerouted back to Toronto once again. The entire experience was a series of disappointments, leading to an overwhelming sense of helplessness.
Offering hotel and meal vouchers does not even begin to make up for the emotional toll and disruption this journey caused. The lack of clear communication and support from Air Canada made an already challenging situation even worse. Instead of feeling cared for as a customer, I felt like just another statistic in a long list of frustrated travelers.
My advice to fellow travellers is to think carefully before booking with Air Canada. A 9hrs flight can quickly turn into a four days trip filled with confusion and disappointment. Moving forward, I will seek airlines that prioritize effective communication, customer service, and overall efficiency.
This experience has led me to firmly believe that Air Canada needs to reevaluate its policies and practices regarding passenger care and crisis management. Travelers deserve more than vouchers; they deserve genuine care and a commitment to getting them to their destinations in a timely and respectful manner.
I hope that others can avoid similar frustrations in the future, and I find it disheartening to think that I will likely pay the price for Air Canada's inadequacies long after this journey has ended.
EVERYTHING WENT WRONG!!
EVERYTHING WENT WRONG!!! I had a trip between the US and Halifax, business class. Four connections, three totally blown. Two for equipment issues, one for operational. They did a "bait and switch", providing their lower-class "Rouge" service for actual business class. Bad seats, no ground beverage service, no in-flight entertainment, bad lounge service, snarky employees. Save your money if you want biz class, because this is a total scam.
Bad Customer Support Experience
Bad Customer Support Experience
Living in Canada unfortunately we do not get too much options flying out so I always fly with Air Canada. This time the Customer Services of Air Canada is truly bad. I got notified for 'flight has changed please contact to cancel' so I called Customer Support to check. When I ask if I can cancel my flight due to the change she gave very vague answers saying 'you can cancel if it's 3 hours', when I followed up asking 'do you mean I can cancel if the flight change is more than 3 hours' she answered 'yes'. Then when I asked if the cancellation is free she became very impatient and rudely saying 'you booked the basic ticket you cannot cancel you will not get any money back'.
Please get better customer service rep in handling these situations this is truly unpleasant.
DO NOT fly Air Canada
DO NOT fly Air Canada. We tried to inquire about changing our flight. After 10+ phone calls and hours on hold we gave up. It would have been nice to extend our vacation but were not able to reach anyone at the company.
Air Canada made me miss a flight and…
Air Canada made me miss a flight and couldn’t help because it wasn’t their connection. I’m losing a ticket of 1900$ and my contract.
Worst experience ever lost all my carry…
Worst experience ever lost all my carry on in April 2024 until today no response. I have over $5000 worth in my carry on. I wrote out to air Canada ceo and customer service no response my car still sitting at the airport parking lot because my car keys are lost in my luggage and I don’t have an extra key. I urgently request that someone reach out to me. 6477618950. Linda
Confirmed seats? Not at all!
Booked a flight and confirmed my seats three months ago in Premium Economy for my wife and I. Found out less than a week before the flight that my ‘confirmed’ seats were given to someone else for ‘operational’ reasons. My wife and I have been separated and Air Canada claims that they have every right to do so.
How is this fair?
I flew again with Air Canada; all good
I flew again with Air Canada and had to leave a review. I pushed the rules (not gonna say how, don't wanna start a trend) and staff knew .. they simply told me a rule was being broken but let me get away with it and I am so grateful.
On the flight, attendants were prompt and kind. Food smelled great, and there was plenty to drink (I did not partake at all, since I'm a total health nut). Luggage; 2 checked in were promptly retrieved at the carousel in Rome. Flight took off about 10 minutes late, no biggie at all. Overall my 3 last AC trips are all thumbs up.
PS Flew economy as usual. Legroom and seat size aren't huge lol, but I'm a slim guy and my co-flyers were very nice, so it worked out well.
Poor example for Canada

We just flew Edmonton to Athens via Montreal then Malaga, Lisbon to Montreal then Edmonton. Oct 10-26
We have flown this route last year for another Cruise we did with BA but chose AC this time.
NEVER AGAIN. Our flagship airline makes you feel like a forenger, as if you are not French you are second class. The in flight service is adequate but boring. They advertise wine and spirits but only wine is offered at a meal. It is cheap white and gross red. the Montys snack is over cooked meat pie. The chicken or overcooked dry pasta along with the dry bun frozen butter and gross chickpea salad is not appealing to eat.
Airline delay at Montreal, while the plane being late had to be TOWED to the gate. Had only one toilet working so was told to use toilet in airport first. Flight delayed 45, then when on board advised the calculator for fuel weight ratio was broken thus doing the calculations by hand was a bit scary.
We have often flown AC
We have often flown AC - business class. Overseas flights usually OK, I’m ex-Airlines so have a good idea of what is what.
We flew AC on 27th October 2024 to Bangkok non-stop. Inaugural flight this Fall. Seats are fine, flat bed.
Service not so good, grumpy Chief - and the Chief sets the tone of cabin service. Seemed a lot of AC staff in the full biz cabin. Food was mediocre. Flight deck announcements OK, but the seat belt sign was on 90% of the flight, and the Chief snapped at me (87 years old) when I staggered out for a pee! He needs a Charm School refresher course.
Overall, disappointing flight.
