Currenty looking at 30 hours delays if I am lucky and looking at the logs the delays I encountered are nothing unusual. The very worst. An embarassment for Star Alliance and the country. Good grief.

No real customer support, unacceptable behaviour.

Never flying with Air Canada again. I always liked this airline, until a flight got cancelled. No support at all, initially didn’t offer any Hotel for the night (New flight was on the next day), contrary to their standards of treatment policy. Didn’t cover any cost of a new connecting flight, since I missed my connection as a result of the delay. No way to contact them online, especially not as a tourist / foreigner.
All in all: Thanks for partially ruining my vacation to this beautiful country. Airline is only concerned about own profit, trying to save every single dollar, even if that means major inconvenience and cost for the customer. Completely unacceptable.

Flight delay missed next flight

My family’s Air Canada return flight from Las Vegas to Vancouver delayed about hours, we missed connect flight to home city. AC agent at LV airport told us AC representative at Vancouver airport will take care of everything including hotel booking. When we arrived at Vancouver airport at midnight, the duty manager told us a totally different story, something like “Air Canada not responsible for any compensation, as your next flight is not Air Canada…..”. Completely unacceptable words. She even did not say a word of apology!!! Air Canada customer care emailed us quite same disappointed answer. My words to Air Canada - No reputation, No future! It is irresponsible to shirk responsibility!

IF ONLY WE COULD GIVE THEM A 0 RATING!

This is undoubtedly the world's worst airline. 22 separate incompetencies leaving 3 travellers stranded in a country that was not part of their route with no luggage, no food, no hotel, no ground support in a country where they did not speak the language. Lied to by Air Canada staff. They were pinballed around Europe. What should have been 2 legs on 12 hours, became 4 legs and over 40 hours. Air Canada is simply garbage. Destroyed the vacation. We will never fly SC-AIR CANADA again EVER! And now they are trying to avoid paying expenses, delay fees and compensation. They have automated systems designed to minimize their expenses and run you in circles. What they do is prevent you from solving the problem with a customer service representative. They hope that you give up. Shameful and pathetic. Unfortunately for them, they have decided to pick a fight with me. We will take them to court to see our money and then some. In the meantime, suffice it to say that they are a disgusting group of trolls and scammers.

One of the best airlines I‘ve flown with

Can‘t complain. Had four flights with them. Puntual, seats are fine besides on one flight they were hard, food is fine, there‘s always a vegetarian option. On the longer flights the choice of movies is insane, they had every famous movie under the sun, never had a selection this good. Besides that they still have rows of two seats instead of three which is way more comfortable. Generally their planes aren‘t as tight as the planes of other airlines I‘ve flown with.
Free seat selection is possible.
The best thing was when I missed my flight because of excessive security controls, barely had any proof and the worker just rescheduled my flight for free to the next flight! I know not every airline would do this. Even tho boarding had almost started they still managed to get my bag on the airplane!
Also liked how they allow the flight attendants to have many tattoos, seem to be more progressive and open than other airlines.

Ongoing website issues

Booking a flight on the website is an absolute nightmare. I have been sitting here trying to book a flight for my mother for over 2hrs. As soon as I am about to get to the payment page an error message pops up and I have to start the process all over again. I also tried using the app on my phone and the prices were completely different. Also, prices for booking on the 2nd week of April appear as $200 but when you click on any of the $200 flight times, the prices shoot up. Waste of time. You would think that as a big company providing flights all over the world you would want a better name for yourselves. Poor reputation for a reason. Be better AC!!!

Special assistance isn’t so special

I require a wheelchair when I am in an airport. My profile with Air Canada shows this and it is noted when I book flights. However accessing this service is very difficult at the best of times and when they pass you off to a “codeshare” airline there is no coordination or sharing of information. Be prepared to wait…and wait…and wait when you do get help - you are loaded on the plane first; last off; no chance to access the washrooms or purchase food. The wheelchairs aren’t made for comfort so I strongly suggest you take a pillow with you and come prepared with the food you require - especially for domestic flights. You need to speak up and be prepared to ask several times for the help you require

Good morning

Good morning, I would like to thank all the travelling staff of AIR CANADA flight ac 842 Toronto Frankfurt and in particular a stewart. who spoke Italian and who was interested in resolving our situation. Premiere Experience

My wife and I flew went to Cancun for our first all-inclusive resort via SunWing. On the way back home, my wife fell in the airport. The SunWing staff prohibited us from flying and we had to attend a local hospital but assured us that we’d have a flight home. After getting a “ fit-to-fly” certificate, I called SunWing to get a flight home and was informed after several attempts that I had to go and stand by until there was on opening. In total frustration I called Air Canada.. I explained our situation, the next words were “We have you, don’t worry, Air Canada will take care of you!!” This was so comforting.. Air Canada gave us a great rate, wheelchair service at the crowded Cancun airport.. the experience was nothing less than premium as I’ve experienced over the past decades…
Air Canada will now ALWAYS be my choice aircraft experience!!!

Well done!

My wife and I had a return Air Canada…

My wife and I had a return Air Canada ticket from Toronto to London Heathrow on February 21st, flight AC845 at 6:10 PM.
After boarding the plane and waiting for two hours, the flight was cancelled due to a technical fault.
This resulted in us being given a replacement ticket the next day at 20:10PM.
In addition to disruption service follow of the cancellation, we lost our return coach ticket from Heathrow to Birmingham on February 21st, as well as a day of work. Now the only way to claim compensation and contact Air Canada is through the website, which without any reason states that you are not eligible to claim compensation.
The fact that we cannot contact the airline by email or chat is an indication of the system's trickery to waste passengers' rights, and unfortunately, this was a very bad experience for us.

My recent experience flying Air Canada…

My recent experience flying Air Canada from Toronto to Heathrow was beyond frustrating. The flight was initially delayed by 2.5 hours, which was bad enough, but after all that waiting, it was delayed even further with little to no clear communication from the airline. No real explanation, no proper updates—just endless waiting with vague announcements.

For an international flight, this level of disorganization is unacceptable. Passengers were left stranded with no compensation or real support. If you're considering flying with Air Canada, be prepared for delays, poor customer service, and a complete lack of accountability. Would not recommend.

Disappointing Experience with Food and Baggage Handling

I recently flew with Air Canada, and my experience was far from satisfactory, particularly regarding their food and baggage handling.

First, the in-flight meal was terrible—bland, cold, and barely edible. For the price I paid, I expected at least a decent meal, but what I received was worse than a budget airline snack. The portions were ridiculously small, and there were no decent vegetarian or special meal options. To make matters worse, the crew seemed uninterested in addressing any complaints about the food.

Secondly, the baggage handling was a complete disaster. Despite checking in my luggage well in advance,

Worse than any budget airline I have…

Worse than any budget airline I have been on and this is supposed to be a national carrier. The staff are rude and patronising, the planes are old and frequently get delayed. If you don't pay for seat selection they will split you up even if you are travelling together on the same booking as a way to sell more seat selections. Thin flies entertainment is appalling. So that's it I will never travel air Canada ever again.

Air Canada charged plenty to get our bags to Sydney Australia t…

Air Canada charged plenty to get out luggage from Denver to Sydney Australia, that was OK with me except for the fact that they sent them to Ontario where it sat For 4 days. during that time we were told. Purchase what you need while we find your luggage and we'll reimburse you. That is a scam and complete farce, I think Air Canada tells their personnel to lie to folks to shut them up.
They won't reimburse and the will not even talk to you. The message on their phone line says if s you have a case number
which we do - customer service cannot take your call or assist you.
That's plain old bs deflected and delivered Canadian style.
You guys really stick!
I didn't know the Canadians were no different than the Mexicans - both are lousy at resolving issues they create

Still waiting for resolution

I booked a flight knowing that I might need to cancel within 24-hours, but I was reassured by their website that cancelations were refundable within 24-hours. So I booked. Sure enough, I had to cancel after 18 hours. After paying $1,246 for my ticket, I was refunted $1,005. They decided to keep "carrier surcharges" $164, Transportation Tax $23, and Passenger Faciliy Charges $4.50. This bullshit airline lost my trust. Never again.

Complaint Regarding Flight Change & Unresponsive Customer Service

I am writing to formally express my frustration regarding the recent change to my flight and the complete lack of customer support I have experienced while trying to resolve the issue.
I have called your customer service line six times so far, and each time, I have been met with an automated message stating that the wait time is two hours. I have patiently waited for over two hours on multiple occasions, only for the call to be disconnected without ever reaching a representative. This is completely unacceptable and reflects the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered.
I expect a prompt response with a resolution regarding my flight change. If this matter is not addressed immediately, I will have no choice but to escalate my complaint to the relevant consumer protection authorities and share my experience publicly.
Please provide me with a direct and immediate point of contact to resolve this issue.

Will never book with this Airline again. Was delayed 3 hours, then flight canceled, not refunded, but now not even offered a flight credit toward another flight!? Their response:

Inhuman Airline: Zero Compassion from Air Canada

I am extremely disappointed with Air Canada's customer service and lack of compassion. I had to cancel my flight due to a serious medical condition that prevents me from traveling. I reached out well in advance—almost a month before my departure date—and provided all the necessary medical documents to support my request.

Despite this, Air Canada refused to offer a refund, even though many airlines make exceptions for medical emergencies. It is frustrating to see such a rigid and unsympathetic approach, especially in situations beyond a passenger’s control.

I expected better from a major airline, but this experience has shown me that Air Canada prioritizes profit over customer care. I will think twice before booking with them again and would advise others to be cautious about their policies.

Good experience with Air Canada

I've always had a good experience flying Air Canada. Please remember that the people that had a bad experience are the ones motivated to write a review, so this skews the survey results. I think it's best to throw out the 5 star and 1 star ratings to get a more realistic idea of an airline.
