Made a booking a hotel which the Host…

Made a booking at a hotel which the Host cancelled. This wasn’t registrered in Agoda, and i’ve had to pay for a 3-night stay in a room that wasn’t available. I’ve tried to contact support, but haven’t been answered. I would like my money back🥲

First and last booking with Agoda

First and last booking with Agoda. Hotel room was misdescribed by having a bathtub which was essential for my husband’s cancer pain management. Having previously some bad experiences with hotel bookings I contacted hotel booked through Agoda directly only to find out that None of the rooms have bathtubs, shower cubicles only throughout entire hotel. I contacted Agoda via customer support form, wasted half an hour answering stupid questions and repeating myself then finally being disconnected by customer service response confirming that hotel indeed didn’t have any bathtubs and that was the end of it. Then I phoned in and after about 15 minutes call was disconnected (deliberately or not I can not be sure), I phoned again and after over an hour of arguments and bringing up Consumer rights legislation in (they offered a credit first.. As if I would be crazy enough to ever book with them again!) we finely had refund back. Total waste of time and nerves

First booking

When booking this hotel it says that you will receive 10% off your first booking but this is not true. I have followed up with customer service for the hotel and they have been unhelpful and have not upheld the deal that they have advertised.

Agoda is the worst service

Agoda is the worst service. I have ever used I chose dates as 30th Jan for a booking but got email confirmation booked for 29th Jan. I explained them the problem.

They are saying they can't to anything about it and refuse to refund.

Price not transparent

Agoda advertise the room at one price then after you have booked they give you a higher price which has service charge and VAT added on.

Booking.com gives the total price up front. I won't use agoda again!

Agoda needs to think Humanely!

I booked a room in two hotels in Makkah and Madina for 7 days each for the spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia. At the outset the cost I paid was non-refundable.
There can be 101 reasons that a person cannot travel on those dates to honour the booking. But this company takes the money and does not refund any cash if we cancel or want to change the dates. I have lost GBP 231 for Makkah and nearly GBP 450 in Madina. There was an unforeseeable situation that I could not travel and stay in the hotel but Agoda company has its own rules and will not refund my total cost.
I will never ever be using this company again to book my hotel rooms. They do not treat human as human beings. We are not machines and cannot predict the future events. There is always a chance that something will come up to cancel our, consumers, booking of the hotel.
There should be some refund minus the administration fees.

Terrible company

I booked a room months ago to be somewhere for a special event. A few weeks before the date I received an email saying there wasn’t a room available despite having had a confirmation at the time of booking. Now struggling to get my deposit back. When I contacted the hotel directly they said they hadn’t had a booking made by Agoda.
Awful service. My advice - avoid the like the plague 😞

Deceptive Hotel Booking App - Beware!
I recently had a terrible experience with Agoda. Their customer service is abysmal, and their refund policy is nothing but a sham.
I booked a hotel through their app, enticed by their promises of great service and flexibility. However, when I encountered a problem with my reservation, it became painfully clear that these promises were nothing more than empty words.
Firstly, the customer service was unhelpful and not responsive . They seemed more interested in avoiding responsibility than in assisting customers. They promised to resolve my issue but never followed through.
Secondly, their refund policy is a complete joke. Despite their claim of a refund guarantee, I was denied a refund when I needed it the most. They simply refused to honor their own policy.
I urge everyone to steer clear of Agoda. Don't be fooled by their enticing promises; they are nothing but a scam. There are plenty of reputable hotel booking platforms out there that provide genuine customer service and uphold their refund policies. Avoid the frustration and disappointment I experienced with this app.

Scammers and liars.

Scammers and liars.
Should be able to give zero stars! I have never come across such a lying and inept travel company in all my life.
If you do ever get a reply from their god awful message service it’s just “we’ll be in touch soon”
They even lied stating the property hadn't replied to them and had also refused a refund. Both were proven to be untrue by the property themselves.
They are not in the Uk and seem to be in China.
No way on earth I would use them again and would urge anyone else to go elsewhere.

Wont hesitate cancelling a confirmed booking if they spot an opportunity to get more money

Before booking flight tickets i have made research and reservation so that i would know my budget and if we could afford it.
So the 5th of July 23 i am booking 3 Gold rooms and get a confirmation on the booking. Then i am ordering the flight tickets. However here the 28th of august in the morning without any further notice i just get an email from Agoda saying that I have cancelled my booking. I think there must have been a mistake but both Lanta Chada Beach Resort and Spa and Agoda is not helping just throwing back and forth and wont take responsibility. The rooms a still available but to a much higher rate than i booked. So the lesson must be that they are greety hustlers that wont hesitate cancelling a confirmed booking if they spotting the opportunity for making more money. Dont care if they are destroy your vacation.

Awful awful awful customer service, technical error

Long story short - Their "change date" feature did not work even though the hotel said I could change dates - I just had to do it through Agoda. Because I needed roof above my head I had to book the room again myself at the different date.
I have contacted customer service multiple times. They just refuse to take repsonsibility, say it's my own fault and refuse to give me my money back. They have started to just ignore my mails.

Do not book hotel with them, their booking confirmation is not what you see on their booking screen, they will change the number of people to suit their and their partner company and charge you non-refundable room that cant accomadate your requirement

never take non-refundable fare from these guys they will never refund I got stuck with the hotel when my flight got delayed and they wouldn't change it for a day so I was forced to pay for a hotel that was empty! NEVER EVER! use them.

"Hostel" was listed as "Hotel"

"Hostel" was listed as "Hotel". This is false advertising but they refuse to cancel/ refund. I have screenshots of the hostel being listed incorrectly. It is not until you have paid and receive a confirmation email that the address shows as it being listed as a hostel. They still refuse liability. I have tried to open a formal complaint but they have point-blank refused my request.

Incompetent and untrustworthy

discovered by chance that agoda had NOT placed my booking with the hotel. I could have turned up with no accommodation. When i spoke to the hotel direct they told me this happens a lot with agoda. They were also offering breakfast as a paid add on for this hotel and the hotel does not offer breakfast. Agoda placed this booking through booking.com so did not have a booking arrangement with this hotel. Avoid at all costs

Ruined vacation

Ruined vacation. Arrive to hotel and they say they never got the booking. Apparently, Agoda used Booking.com to book the hotel?!?
Three hours on the phone with Agoda, they acknowledge the problem and send me to a different part of town. Another hour to get money back, but they refused to give back the cancellation fee.

Never again.

Would give minus stars if possible

Would give minus stars if possible! Booked a hotel room through them, we had one night refunded but agoda didn't want to give back the money for 1 night they wanted to keep some of it. We complained and each time they brought the figure down and threatened if we continued to complain they would keep the money for the room. They even changed the currency at one point, we payed in pounds but they changed the currency to Chinese currency. Eventually got our refund after 2 weeks of emailing and arguing but £5 short of what the hotel refunded us. In my book this is theft and we won't use them again, they are owned by Expedia so they have also lost we will use a different booking company from now on

Foul price display. Waste of time

I just hate that they display cheap prices which don't tell you first hand what the last price in the check out will be. So in the end you always pay more with taxes on top. It's dark patern Web page behavior. Arrive in 2023 agoda! Or of course just don't use their service.
