Took our money and had no relationship…

Took our money and had no relationship to hotel.

We booked a room with a hotel for
$91 a night. We called the hotel and they do not take bookings from agoda and haven't for the last year. We tried to get our money back and Agoda says the hotel won't release our money. We know for a fact that the hotel had confirmed that they would. Agoda is a scam company and I will never use them again.

AGODA, No, No.

Think twice before making any travel plans with AGODA. Earlier this month, I booked a 12-night stay in Istanbul, Turkey. Upon arrival at the hotel, I discovered that the room was much smaller than it appeared in the photos. The "desk," which was actually a shelf fixed to the wall, was too narrow to sit comfortably and work.

AGODA's customer service is virtually non-existent. They only accept emails. I emailed them within an hour of my arrival, and received an automated response thanking me for my patience, stating that it could take up to 72 hours to resolve the issue.

After 10 days—by the end of my stay—I was still receiving automated emails thanking me for my patience, with no resolution in sight. Despite the cost and limited options, I had to complete my stay. My concerns and requests were never addressed or resolved. Therefore, I will never use AGODA again.

I have ben using agoda some time now

I have ben using agoda some time now. they dnt answer the email properly. Do not take respnsability even though you are sending them proper documentation. lately i sent them an email in english. the response was.. To better assist you we need the enail in following language .. English etc.

You don't get what you think your getting..

The hotel room is not as described in the photos online. There is 2 photos of the bathrooms and non a single one photo of what we got at the hotel we stayed in Venice., and it's a disaster. I would never book a room with a bathroom like that. For the bed it says, a queen bed, but we got two crappy beds tied up with a plastic bag, so they dont separate!! Not the room we saw online!!!!! The air-conditioning it's turned on by the staff not by the customer!!! It's basically a lie !! In the add when booked it says breakfast included but it wasn't!. I just feel scammed.

Jokers, incompetent at best

Agoda took payment on booking and the hotel could not charge Agoda's credit card on arrival, meaning I had to pay the hotel direct. Over 3 months and still no refund from Agoda. They are a joke.

Appalling company

Appalling company, do not use them.
I paid to stay in a beachfront hotel and when I arrived I was taken to an apartment nowhere near beachfront and hotel.
Three weeks later and over forty emails no resolution. I was offered $32 in compensation. They pass you from one agent to another, no one reads your notes and every reply you send back you receive numerous replies all from different agents. Do not use this company.

Scammers

Horrible company. Arranged stay with even dodgier Kings Cross Inn Hotel, take your money and then don't respond. They then set up up on a wild goose chase playing telephone ping pong between Agoda and the hotel with no reservation. Do not use either of them. Beware of parting with your hard earned money.

Don’t stay in “Rainbow Radiance Studio near Brighton station” The kitchen was flooded and we could not reach the contact person.

Even when you have a big problem such as a flooded room, you can never find a contact person. You may want to choose another place to avoid the same problems as us. We made a reservation for 10 days and chose this room because it had a kitchen. But when we arrived, neither the refrigerator, dishwasher nor oven were working. because they had assembled the cabinets without plugging them in. Fortunately, there was a repairman in the building who was renovating another room and he helped us. Although the oven worked, the stove and dishwasher never worked. It wasn't much of a problem since these were taken care of, but the last two days were a disgrace. The kitchen faucet started leaking water from under the sink and the kitchen was completely flooded. When we tried to reach the facility, they said they would send someone as soon as possible, but even though a day has passed since the incident, they still did not send anyone, neither changed the room nor refunded the payment. and the sink flowed uninterruptedly for 7-8 hours... During this time, we had to stay in the room and wait in the room to prevent anything from happening to our belongings and hope that the repairman would come. There is neither a reception nor a phone you can reach. Please stay somewhere else, there is no point in ruining your holiday by paying extra money just because it has a kitchen and not being able to use the kitchen. The owner of the facility could not be reached on Agoda. Although the mother said that I would receive a refund on the relevant day due to the problem you experienced, they regretfully said that they could not refund the next day. If there was no refund, why didn't my room change? Why should I use this site again if I cannot find a solution when I have a big problem? I will never make another booking through you

Brilliant customer service received…

Brilliant customer service received from an excellent customer service representative (Jenny). I made a duplicate hotel reservation in error - which was non refundable. But after speaking to Agoda the agent contacted the hotel and asked them to cancel one of the reservations and refund me. The hotel agreed and this was all done in an hour! I was so impressed with the care and support I received, and genuinely recommend Agoda as a brilliant travel company who offer excellent prices for hotels. Thank you Jenny once again.

Why are they allowed to trade online?

How can this company continue to trade? They are legitimate but behave like scammers, online theft with the most deceitful tactics. Do not use. This is the first time I've been scammed and lost money and it is devastating and shocking. They were approximately £100 cheaper than booking direct with the hotel, but I ended up losing hundreds (the whole balance) because I did not know that i was dealing with fraudsters.
Please take my advice and stay away from them. They ruin your plans and cost you time, money, stress and the unbearable feeling of being scammed. Genuine people like me, do not deserve to be dragged into contact with businesses like this, I do not want to be associated with them - do not use them. The hotel were aware of their behaviour and expressed to only book with them direct.

Complete scam!!

Complete scam!!! Do not book through Agoda. I was charged by Agoda for reservation that was not paid to hotel and then I had to pay again at hotel. Agoda customer service is practically impossible to get in touch with to resolve anything! The hotel said this happens all the time!!!

stay at B2 Suan Luang Rama 9 Srinakarin 42 Boutique & Budget Hotel.
No power no electric no wifi no hot shower no air con very hot and very noisy for major works outside
Agoda nor the Hotel accept responsibility
Offer reward which cannot be used
We lose a Lot of money
Our advice
Check directly with hotel for guarantee there is no problems. Not agoda

Aweful human ethics worst booking agent

I'm copying and pasting the serious complaint regarding the poor quality and hotel not matching its description or pictures and ruining our supposedly relaxing holiday by putting our lives in danger.

Chatbox Abdul promised us refund by giving us an option to checkout on 24th Feb at 10pm. As it was late in the night and we needed time to find another hotel in Sultanahmet, we booked our hotel replacement ourselves and paid Hippodrome Hotel
We also confirmed we're checking out from Avcilar Emre Hotel on 25th Feb at 11am. Therefore, were fully entitled to FULL refund which was promised. No refund has been received till date and have only received generic email responses from Agoda.

I requested them to take this matter seriously as me and my disabled mum are tired of typing on their chatbox and receiving one off generic sentences for the past few days. I hope someone in their team has the decency to take reasonable action as we feel neglected by Agoda when they owed us a duty of care. They were negligent by sending us to Avcilar Hotel which had no health and safety in place with blocked lift, filthy unhygenic rooms, excessive dust, broken toilet seat for my disabled mum, loose wiring on wall and TV and unsafe property conditions against health and safety laws. as a matter of urgency. They spoiled our holiday, deteriorated our physical and mental health against health and safety laws and putting our lives in danger. We were awake for 4 nights worried about our safety and waiting for them to rescue us. They failed to Provide us full refund for Emre Hotel and reimburse us for the new cost spent on Hotel Hippodrome ourselves in Sultanahmet and also failed to safeguard our health and safety. They saw all photos of literally everything in Filthy condition unsafe for human residence and we will never trust them again to book in the future as they have no shame or Customer etiquette or safety concern to preserve human life.

Not to be trusted

I already read someone saying that they would give 0 stars rating and I agree. I wish I had read the reviews before my booking. I booked what I believed to be a single room in a hostel in Edinburgh. After contacting the hostel directly I was shocked to find out that my booking was for a single bed in a 28 bed mixed dormitory. I couldn’t amend the booking or get a refund. I can’t believe I fell for it but I hope this will help someone not to be conned.

lie lies lies

Why is this company allowed to operate?
They are spoofing hotel reviews. How do I know? Because the honest reviews I have given, never appear.
I have had 3 sleepless painful nights in a hotel that was an 8.9/10.
Wish I'd checked other sites, it's lucky to get a 5/10.
Also at no point did they say it was a idget hotel, I'd never have booked it if this was mentioned.
Now they tell me my reservation is cancelled with a day left of my stay. Meaning they won't give the cashback making this budget hotel even more expensive.
I should have learned from the last experience.
Disgusted.
