Helicopter experiences are, by their nature, weather dependent and late cancellations can sometimes be unavoidable where safety is concerned.

Firstly and most importantly, may we offer our sincere condolences to your family at this difficult time.

As you are aware, you had a confirmed booking for a confirmed event which went ahead as planned on Saturday 17th January 2026 at Cumbernauld Airport.

On the day of your flight it was noted that you had not ‘Checked In’ online which is often indicative of an individual not planning on attending their confirmed experience.

As such, you were contacted via telephone by our Helipad Manager. You explained that you would not be attending your flight owing to personal matters but you did not divulge the nature of these matters. You asked if the experience would be lost and it was politely explained that as it was a confirmed booking for a shared flight, the flight would continue with other scheduled guests and you would be ineligible to rebook as per the agreed terms.

It is essential that we maintain fairness and consistency for all customers and we would like to take the opportunity to remind you that without pressure or persuasion you agreed to our terms and conditions of business. It is clear and transparent that a voucher holder is ineligible to rebook if they fail to attend their confirmed experience, irrespective of circumstances. However, there is an exception to the aforementioned if ‘Flexible Cancellation’ is taken at the time of booking. Flexible Cancellation caters for a variety of unexpected circumstances and permits a customer to rebook within the standard 7 day term. This option was offered to you at the time of booking but you declined and agreed to the standard terms.

We appreciate the disappointment but we have acted as per the agreement made at the time of booking. However, in view of the circumstances, we would be delighted to offer you a discount code for 20% off a future experience. If this is of interest, please contact us via our website and ask to liaise with our Operations Manager.

Again, we offer our condolences.

We’re sorry you feel that way. Our intention in replying was simply to clarify the experience that was booked and delivered and to correct a number of inaccuracies raised in your original review.

We can confirm again that your booking was for a 12-mile flight: “A Glimpse of Glasgow Skyline”, and this is exactly what was provided on the day. Optional upgrades and alternative flight routes were available during the booking process but were not selected.

To put it simply, it’s a bit like booking a flight to Glasgow and then being disappointed it didn’t land in Timbuktu.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am genuinely sorry to hear how disappointed you were, and I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to have your plans disrupted.

Experiences of this nature are always dependent on weather conditions, and postponements can sometimes happen at short notice for safety reasons. These conditions are outlined in the terms you agreed to at the time of booking, but I appreciate that this does not lessen the inconvenience caused.

In this instance, the provider postponed the experience due to poor weather and a saturated runway. They attempted to contact you the day before and left a voicemail, and they tried again on the day of the experience, although you were already on your way by that point.

We do understand how disappointing this was for you. Your booking has now been reset and you are very welcome to rebook at a time that suits you.

Dear Kenny,

We are disappointed to receive your 1 star review and it is imperative that we address the salient points.

Health and Safety is our Number 1 priority and it is exceedingly disappointing that you were willing to disregard safety and jeopardise your own well being and that of our staff.

It is made imperatively clear at all points that no photography is permitted airside in order to maintain health and safety for our valued customers and crew as distractions must be minimised.

The fact that no photography is permitted airside is reaffirmed in your pre flight briefing, in the safety video which you are required to watch and also in documentation that is sent to you prior to your flight.

You showed a blatant and unacceptable disregard and this was totally unacceptable. You were suitably advised by our crew to cease your actions but you responded in a rude manner.

We fully dispute the version you have stated and must insist that our crew spoke to you with professionalism and politeness in view of your safety breach. It was disappointing that you became argumentative towards our staff who were simply doing their job and ensuring safety.

Finally, at each event we provide a fully trained photographer to capture photographs for memorabilia purposes. These photographs are available for purchase but this is non compulsory.

Thank you for your message. I’m very sorry to hear of your disappointment, and I completely understand how frustrating it can be when the weather causes multiple postponements.

I do want to reassure you that we are delivering exactly what was purchased. The flight remains fully valid and there is absolutely nothing preventing you from rebooking and enjoying the experience on a suitable day. As you know, helicopter flights are entirely weather dependent and we must prioritise safety above all else. This is not only our duty of care but a legal requirement for aviation operations.

I appreciate that the postponements have been inconvenient but each decision has been made solely to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew. If that means some customers feel the need to leave a low rating for us putting safety first, then so be it, we will never compromise on this. Once your friend is able to fly, I’m confident the experience itself will change your stance.

While a refund isn’t available on this type of discounted third party voucher, it remains fully transferable or can be rebooked for any future date of your choice. We genuinely want your friend to enjoy the gift you intended and we will be very happy to welcome her on board as soon as the weather allows.

An experience of this nature its incredibly popular and is subject to availability as is made clear at all points. We are sorry to read of your postponement but it is made clear at all points that an experience of this nature is subject to postponement as it is dependent on weather, aircraft serviceability and operational factors.
Finally, it is made clear at all points that a voucher can only be released subject to set criteria.

We were surprised by the one-star rating and would like to clarify a few points to ensure the circumstances are accurately represented.

Your voucher was purchased directly from Adventure 001 on 14 December 2022 for £245 and added to our booking portal shortly afterwards. At the time and throughout the 2023 flying season, there was availability across multiple locations and availability notifications were issued inviting you to book.

Our records show that your online account was not accessed for an extended period following registration. As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, monitoring voucher validity and securing availability sits with the voucher holder. As no booking was made within the original validity period, you chose to extend your voucher for the applicable fee of your.

In December 2023, you booked a flight for May 2024, which you later amended to August 2024. That flight was postponed for operational reasons. As clearly stated at booking, helicopter flights are weather and safety dependent, and postponements can occur when conditions are unsuitable. Operational locations may also vary due to factors outside of any customer’s control.

A subsequent booking for May 2025 proceeded as planned, and we note your comment that the flight itself was “quite good”, which we are pleased to hear.

For clarity, the total amount paid was £245, not “over £400” as stated. While we fully understand this is a considered purchase, it is important that figures quoted are accurate for the benefit of others reading the review.

You were offered multiple opportunities to complete your experience across a wide range of locations and dates and the flight itself was delivered successfully when conditions allowed. We are confident that the record speaks for itself.

Update: Thank you for your further comments. We do need to correct a number of inaccuracies.

Our records do not support the claim that there were no booking slots available during the first 12 months. Availability notifications were issued during that period and bookings were open across multiple locations. While we appreciate that preferred dates or venues may not always align immediately, this does not equate to there being no availability at all.

At no point were you “insisted” to extend your vouchers. Extensions are optional and only required when a voucher has not been booked within its original validity. The extension fee applied reflected two vouchers, and this was clearly displayed at the time. Extensions are a standard mechanism to preserve voucher value beyond the original term, not a penalty.

For clarity, our records confirm the original purchase price was £245 not £450. Stating otherwise does not change the transaction history recorded at the point of sale.

It is also incorrect to suggest that Adventure 001 merely “rents” pilots or aircraft in a way that absolves us of responsibility. All flights are operated under strict aviation regulations, using approved aircraft which we own and licensed pilots, with safety and operational oversight remaining paramount to everything we do.

Finally, we take our reviews very seriously. We successfully fly tens of thousands of passengers each year and the vast majority of feedback reflects a professional booking process and a safe, enjoyable experience. Where issues do arise, they are typically linked to weather dependency, availability at peak times, or delayed booking rather than service delivery on the day.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that you chose not to attend your Falconry Experience.

I can confirm that toilets should be readily available at the majority of venues. We also can’t find any record of correspondence from you before the event, so we weren’t aware that you were considering not attending. Had you contacted us, we would gladly have clarified the arrangements for you.

The reminder email suggesting that guests bring a chair is simply to ensure comfort during the outdoor demonstration, as it is an open-air experience by nature. We appreciate that weather conditions can be off-putting, but as the experience went ahead as planned and places were reserved for you, the booking remained valid. You would have been more than welcome to book a date in the warmer season.
