AVOID AN POST IF YOU CAN!

Only positive is that some shops allow returns by An Post and everything usually goes well and when something needs to be delivered by them is also fine.

Negatives so many that it's not worth writing.

They lost 200 euro worth package of mine in the past when I was returning something and since then I always ship with tracking. Last return I sent which was on 11th. Jan is still sitting in ATHLONE MAIL CENTRE for 9 days, since 17th. Jan.
One of the girls that work in one of the branches is very slow. Last time she was trying to charge me more, when I went to sent this last package on 10th.Jan, for small box but just a bit longer than average, she said it's a "parcel" and she wanted to make me pay 27 euro shipping to UK, less than 1kg package. I refused and left, came on 11th. and other woman charged me 17 euro which I usually pay.

You guys are disgrace. I sold watch for 5000euro and I've put the trust in you to ship it internationally. THE PACKAGE DIDN'T MOVE SINCE 15.04.!!! What kind of SERVICE is that??
Lot of time wasted, customer not satisfied and maybe I will lose a lot of money in the process. Terrible just like the reviews say.

I was told after over a month that package was misrouted. It finally got scanned day or two ago. This company is the worst EVER, lot of mistakes, they barely do anything right, AVOID!
They lost shipment of my return order so I got the refund not so long ago too. Disaster of a company.

Extremely poor service with letters…

Extremely poor service with letters arriving weeks later, parcels marked as being dispatched and that they couldn't be delievered multiple days in a row.
Missed medical appointments because letters have not been recieved in time. I cannot comprehend how negligent this is.
This is a running theme these are not one of instances this is a constant issue. They don't cover postal routes when someone is on holidays so if someone is away for two weeks there is no post. If you have an illness where you have appointments your not recieving the post how is this happening in 2025? I have submitted an official complaint.

Worst delivery company possible! They never try to contact you, don’t even try to ring the doorbell. They just drop the post saying that they were unable to deliver your parcel

An absolute farce of a company

An absolute farce of a company, but I don't expect anything else from a company our government is involved in.
A driver labeled my tracked package as delivered, when it wasn't. Over and back with the seller who refuses to refund or send another because he thinks the item is delivered. I've been on the phone all day on hold listening to pre recorded messages, not a single human employed in the call centre I imagine.

Did you hear about the Irish Post Office

This Company must be among the worst I have ever dealt with, gross incompetence and total indifference to any issues.
I sent a package to UK on 2nd January (very important ) and today, 14th checked with the Addressee, and not received as yet.
I followed up by calling the number on the An Post Receipt, waited 17 minutes for someone to actually "come on the phone" to discover the €9.50 I had paid for "Registered Post", was actually "Standard Post".
Response from An Post, "might be lost or stuck in a container somewhere"!!!!!
Went to said Post Office in Omni Centre, waste of time, couldn't care less attitude.
Cant wait, had to order another part from UK, £80.00 plus another €30 Customer charges due to An Post Incompetence !!!!!
Never, ever again. Use a Courier Company and don't waste you time or money with "An Post"!

We don't know who pulled this off but THANK YOU for ensuring we received our package this morning, it was with An Post customs and wasn't supposed to be released for another week but after contacting An Post someone went and got it and it was loaded on to their van a few hours later! So thank you!

Your drivers out by finglas way are useless! leaving packages in the hall of my apartment without speaking to me, well it’s after being robbed now just the present I bought my mother. Don’t understand why your drivers cant just leave in the main post office on Jamestown road? Isn’t that what there suppose to do? Very unprofessional.

Hope it doesn't get lost

Had a parcel dropped off by royal mail on the 26th with photo and signature proving delivery, I gave a grace period to be charged my €6.50 as I use address pal weekly and depending on the week sometimes it can be a few days before it gets processed especially if ordering from the US, I then reached out after 15 days via email., response was slow and very sparse, long story short they have misplaced it, I was told they'd get back to me and they'll have a look for it, I gave them a week had no response I made further contact to be told they are still looking for it , that I should have been given a number for reference (which I'd didnt receive )and then less than 24hrs later I'm told it can't be found , seemed very suspect that it couldn't be found the day after my second attempt to find out information. I was then asked to ask the seller of the item, had it been returned ( this would imply the item would have to be scanned to be returned ?? Despite never getting scanned in ) seller got back in an hour stating it hadn't nor had they any contact from royal mail about a return. I forwarded on the conversation, 2 days later I get response saying the claim has been sent to accounts, I'll have an outcome for the claim in 5-7 business days ,I wrang 8 business days later to be told no that's a mistake and it's will be 28 business days to process if I'm allowed to get a refund for a parcel they lost , for perspective that's a parcel delivered to the depot on the 26th of October and with Christmas and the rest I'll be lucky to hear back by the end of January, Im disappointed as normally nothing gets lost I could have 3 parcels a week coming through them and this is the first time ive been left in this situation generally a really good service , you've a to wait a little bit sometimes but nothing crazy hence the 3 stars for the generally great service provided

Hello!
I advise against using the services of this company. I have been waiting for a parcel in Ireland for 10 days, I see on tracking that it has been sitting in Portlaoise for 6 days and nothing has happened to it to reach me. The situation is slightly embarrassing that a parcel from Limerick to Cork has been going for 12 days and has not arrived yet.
A weak company.

Driver lies about attempting to deliver packages

2 emails at 10.30 saying they attempted to deliver my parcel at 10.15 on a Saturday morning.

No doorbell, no call, no barking by my dog, and no slip left to say where the package is.

Garden is also secured and easy to leave a package in.

No customer support available to tell me where the package is.

AN HOUR AND 20 MINUTES in the live chat queue.

Only to be told ‘there was an attempt to deliver.’

There was 0 attempt. There is no slip, I have been in the house all morning.

I have never

I have never, ever had any problems with them. Used their services like 5 times in the past and very lately again. Already paid customs + tax and now I'm waiting for delivery. Great service if for some reason shop won't send something that you really want to Ireland directly (body cameras in my case). Fantastic and I do recommend!

Sent my parcel else where in the Uk even with an Irish address on it ( they lost it in warehouse) they received it on the 24th of October and still waiting to receive it "now it's stuck in customs" apparently and still have to pay shitty processing fee even tho the fuc*ed it up several times 😂

Shocking service

Shocking service. Refused customs on 20/9, took until 18/10 for me to receive notice that goods had been received back in UK warehouse. This is after chasing them up by phone, email etc. v poor communication and service. Each time I contacted them it was treated as the first time. V annoying.
Now item is unreturnable to retailer as Addresspal has taken so long. So I have no items to return and am out of pocket. V poor communication to customers, I will never use this ‘service’ again.

Still waiting on a package that’s been stuck in their sorting hub for a week, was told I’m ’not a priorty’ because my package needs to be handed over to Royal Mail rather than being delivered by them?! Would avoid at all costs

I received fully opened bank letters and opened and destroyed parcels.Plus to all my opened pack was passed to third person. When I contacted customer service regarding this issue submitted complaint,they just ignored .Awful customer service .

66% of item price for delivery??

Ordered an item from UK worth 68€ and had to pay 45.83€ in total for delivery..
This includes 13.61 UK VAT + 6.5 Addresspal charge + 25.22 customs.
Item price for Irish VAT was 88€(68 item price + 13.61 UK VAT + 6.5 adresspal postal).
Beware of these gentlemen.
Never again to addresspal!!!.

Look at the charges before you use the service

I bought an item from the UK that cost me €23 online.

Address Pal charged me €6 for the collection, An Post then charged me €7.69 VAT based on a charge of €33.45 for the item which was wrong. Then a further €4.95 for the admin fee.

It cost me €18.64 to have an item that cost €23 to be delivered. My own fault I could have got the same item from Amazon cheaper with free delivery.

Needless to say I have cancelled my AddressPal Account as I found it to be a complete rip off.

An Post should get no Stars

I get a delivery for some reason that was taken from DPD and given to AN POST. My last deliver came at 1.20 when their text said between 10.15 to 1pm. It should have been delivered when the they were doing the post instead of driving by my house two hours earlier. Disgraceful.
