Enrolled onto the course after speaking with Natalie who was extremely helpful! Found other providers quite pushy but Natalie was consultative and friendly at all times.

Cancelled classes, confusing information, no choice of optional modules
I recently enrolled on the CIPD Level 5 in People Management with Acacia Learning and have had a very disappointing experience so far, even before classes have started. I signed up to Acacia because they were the only provider I could find offering face-to-face classes. The first three classes were cancelled due to train strikes even though the classes were taking place on Wednesdays, and no strikes were planned for these days. I was offered an alternative to join one of the online classes instead, however the timetable was not clear so I called the centre for clarification, only to be told there must have been some mistake because they were not running face-to-face classes at all! Someone did come back to me to confirm the classes were going ahead, but with no explanation or apology for the confusion.
Secondly, I received an email to say the optional module would be Employment Law. The course material provides a list of optional modules to choose from, and all materials and study guides reference having a free to choice to pick which one you would like to do. This is not the case. Acacia decided it would be Employment Law with no prior consultation of the study group. I queried whether it was possible to pick another module and join one of the online workshops for those classes instead (as was offered when classes were cancelled for the train strikes), but was told this would not be possible. It is disingenuous to advertise the choice of modules and then not offer the choice to students.
I haven’t yet started classes but I don’t have confidence based on my experience so far.

Acacia Learning has provided excellent support and flexibility…
Acacia Learning has provided excellent support throughout my 3.5 year journey with my CIPD L7. I was utterly delighted to open my recent exam results and see that I got a Distinction! My results have often surpassed my expectations during my study and I put that down to the fantastic support of their tutors and the flexibility that they afford to students. It's been the toughest period I've ever faced in my life during my study journey, as I became a carer overnight to my lovely Mum who was diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer's Disease in 2019. I'm also a serving RAF Officer and have changed postings during this time and faced numerous challenges at work.
It is the flexibility with your course that has meant I've completed all my modules - despite needing to take some time out and for that I'm incredible grateful.

Great experience and Loving My Course
Great team of tutors with very professional support. The new CIPD moderation windows (set by the CIPD) caused a lot of challenges for Acacia but we were informed every step of the way. Don't listen to the bad reviews- the courses are great and the support is there, all you need to do is call them and someone will help. Special thanks to Lisa who was really helpful and always called me back. A great company to study CIPD with.

Would leave a zero but not an option
Would leave a zero but there isn’t an option. Since the new CIPD qualification Acacia learning don’t even know what day of the week it is. Absolute SHAMBLES tutors teaching modules with no marking guidance, students not receiving marks in time, constantly blaming CIPD when it has nothing to them the list is endless.
Completed my last module In August and I still have no certificate due to the student supports incompetence.
Very quick to take our money but not so quick to support us…

Great company to pursue a qualification with
At the half way point in my course I have been able to reflect on ACACIA and what a great organisation it is. The staff are incredibly accommodating, tutors knowledgeable and material covered is interesting and relevant. I particularly like how you can chop and change the learning to suit your needs - be it virtual, in person at the weekend or evenings. I would definitely recommend pursuing a qualification with ACACIA Learning.

I'd recommend their courses for CIPD.

Great place to learn
Small groups makes learning more personal, a great safe space with other likeminded people. Great tutors who make studying fun and engaging!
