USPS policies seem to lack common sense

My neighborhood has traditional curbside mailboxes on posts in front of each house. Recently, our mail carrier has refused to deliver mail if a vehicle is parked on the public street too close to the mailbox — even when the mailbox itself isn’t blocked.

How are residents supposed to control parking on a public street?

It seems unreasonable to deny mail delivery over something homeowners often have no ability to prevent. Policies should reflect common-sense realities, and this one does not.

unnecessary costly transport routes

It can't be that an international package from Georgia is transported to Florida, then to South Carolina, back to Florida, and finally to New York, and I'm supposed to pay over $100 for it.

I wonder if it will now be sent to California or via Puerto Rico (that's happened before).

Apparently, the saying "it can always get worse" is true here.

There so stupid

There so stupid. I saw the mail lady pull up to my neighbor house and delivered there package late night I assume it be mines since it said I should get it by 6:35pm and it was well that time but I guess not. Instead they delayed my package for 2 days which is stupid. Your already at my house why couldn't you just give me my package then? it would make more sense instead you delay it for 2 days. Oh and she circled the neighborhood 3 time probably was tryijg find my house tjen decided to give up because she probably cant seem to read my number on my street address or don't know how to use a gps to find it so decided to delay my package for someone else. 🤦🏻

Post office need to be gone

I would give the USPS less than one star if that were possible.

Here’s why: far too often, the job simply isn’t being done properly. When delivery is delayed or stopped, it’s labeled a “natural disaster,” yet USPS commercials proudly show carriers delivering mail through blizzards, rain, sleet, and extreme conditions. That message does not match what I personally witness.

I regularly watch my mail carrier pull up to my home and never exit the vehicle. If an item fits in the mailbox—regardless of condition or whether it belongs there—that’s where it goes. Proper delivery effort seems to be an afterthought.

Additionally, I am personally aware of a post office where both a postmaster and an employee are knowingly leaving early while others clock out for them. These are serious issues that point to a lack of accountability and oversight.

At this point, the USPS no longer feels like a reliable service. It feels like a system that continues to operate without enforcing basic standards, while the public is led to believe the work is being done as advertised.

I strongly believe it’s time to rethink how mail services are handled and consider alternative delivery methods that actually meet performance and accountability expectations.

USPS is horrible to be honest,worse than horrible!

If I had to explain usps as an animal,it would be a donkey,horrible service,blountville to post office is terrible,rude and ignorant staff,not willing to help and was too lazy to properly look for my package,never called me back and returned packages multiple times for no reason other that mistakenly put into outgoing mail because they didn’t pay attention so now I have to wait another two weeks on something that should have been here a week ago.The tracking is awful and unreliable and I would not send anything through this horrible company and I would not recommend.I order a lot of items.Horrendous experience using usps!!!!!!

Somewho I have been in 12 or so data breaches not one letter has made it to me. I have went to the DMV and had my ID done 3 times now. They have sent out 4 not one has made it to me. An employee that does not like me works for the UPS. Not sure which location but she is out of Vevay Indiana. I am also going through Identity theft and a lot of very person information has been leaked. I have contacted them and nothing has been done. It really needs to be looked into..

Just terrible. Avoid this service.

1) They are being late with delivery for more than 3 days from their estimated delivery, and the package did not arrive yet, so, it will be even more;

2) They need more than 5 days to deliver a package to a distance less than 10 miles since the day the package arrived to their facility;

3) They fail to provide tracking;

Good

usps 2 times I am very satisfied never disappointed

On April 8, 2024, my mother went to the post office to mail the N400 form along with the N648 i912 form to the USCIS immigration office in the state of Az. On April 9, 2024, the letter arrived safely at the USCIS immigration office the second time. My mother and I have an appointment on March 26, 2025 for our first US passport appointment. My mother paid extra for the expedited passport service. After 13 days, I received my US passport home intact and undamaged.

No, it's not what went wrong. It's what is always the United States Postal Serice. Run by the government 1st wrong thing. Everything our government touches is corrupt. USPS no different. Bail out after bail out and still struggle with delivering mail , packages, ect. You call complain and you get an oh well, that sucks attitude. Untouchable just like the placed politicians.

This Agency Is Unreliable

I'd like to know why a book that I ordered from Abebooks on April 24th still hasn't been delivered? The seller indicated that it was shipped, but when I tried tracking the package on the USPS website the message that keeps coming up is a label has not been created. Why? The package was supposed to arrive by May 14th. You can't even email them. Tracking number 92419903032611543400031736.

I am not sure who claims the title of…

I am not sure who claims the title of Inspector General or in charge of decisions being made at USPS but they not only dropped the ball in the last few years, they lost it and are in total disfunction currently they are unable to forecast a delivery that is accurate nor it appears they do NOT care about their jobs. Hopefully they get cleaned up fast or replaced with someone who wants and is dedicated to the office.

I mailed four packages

I mailed four packages, all the same day. Receipt indicated an estimated delivery date of 1-15-2025. When it didn't arrive, I checked the tracking. It now indicates a delivery date of 1-16-2025. However, only one has been delivered today, 1-16-2025. I haven't heard from the receipent if they actually got it yet. It indicated delivered, but I won't know until I hear from my friend. The other three are still in transit to the next facility. Why does the postal service give an estimated delivery date, change it and it still doesn't make it!?! The price of everything from stamps to delivery and everything in between goes up and the service continually declines. The employees at the local post office are never friendly. They act as if the customer is a bother to them. If they don't like their job, they need to get another. They don't act like they want to be there, so the attitude they have gets passed onto the customer. Plus, some of the workers are parking in front of the post office in customer parking places. I've seen it. They should park in the back.

DeJoy has to go

Ever since trump's pick of DeJoy the postal service has gone downhill. It was supposed to get better. Things that I used to get in three days now take weeks, literally. I've had mail returned to Social Security, my local county official mail. I've also had to pay late fees for bills that never have shown up. This is horrible and needs to improve. Are they trying to force it to privatize so some inflated corporation can take it over?

Item never delivered

My delivery date keep getting pushed back to the point where I decided to go up to the USPS on Sam Bass in Round Rock because that the last location that it was. Got all the way up there just to be told them never received and I need to go back to Amazon for a refund. I informed the USPS employee that my tracking shows it’s been here for at least a week. The employee proceeded to tell me it not here and someone falsely entered the tracking information. It was the biggest headache to deal with!

I mailed two packages for Christmas on…

I mailed two packages for Christmas on Dec 13, tracking slip said, on or around the 18th. I figured two weeks was enough time to get from Pittsburg New Hampshire to Ennis Montana. Both were going to the same spot!. My daughter said the package came. Not packages. We assumed both made it. Christmas on a video call, she said only one package was at PO. Today, Dec 26 I tracked them. One was delivered on the 18th, as indicated. The bigger of the two, is at PO in Billings. Whatttt? this is BS. My daughter called the PO, the woman said, oh I'm not surprised we are 5 days behind! Billings is two hours from Ennis, get fresh horses pony express. This is not the first time, will be the last however. $87.84 for what, BS

I mailed one package on the 18th with the expectation of it arriving on the 23rd and it has still not arrived on the 26th I mailed 2 more packages on the 21st with the expectation it would arrive on the 24th because I paid extra for it and they're both still not there... I will be going back to ups at least it's a guarantee delivery.
