I found it a bit confusing
I found it a bit confusing.
I thought I was only ordering 2 trips on Waverley Steamer, but when the 1st email came in, it was to acknowledge my purchase of membership of VIP, which then looked as if it had cost me £89. Eek.
It took a wee while for the email to come in with the actual vouchers. Then, it was clear that VIP only cost 4.99. Phew.

Very easy to see all the deals, very reasonable prices. I have not had any deals that we didn’t enjoy, whether it is for a romantic break away, to an overnight spa break away with friends.

Value of vouchers.ǰ
The presentation and atmosphere were very good. The only thing which left a bad taste was when I was presented with a bill for £19.60 for 2 glasses of wine. I was under the impression I bought the deal offering 2 courses ORt steak wuth wine. The waiter said wine was NOT included. I paid £30.59,so please MAKE THE WORDING CLEARER I was MOSTembarrassed as was my daughter.

Lovely surroundings and welcoming staff.
Great variety of savoury treats.
Really good scone.
Cakes looked the part, but didn’t all deliver on taste and texture.
Apple tart lacked fruit and flavour. Pastry hard. Gingerbread dry, flavour overpowering of treacle, some stem ginger may help.
Pineapple and cream does not make a trifle without more ingredients.
The choux puff had a dense filling, which didn’t in my opinion, work well with the light pastry.
No doubt the menu changes, or I hope so, before I return next month with different friends.

The 14 day cancellation guarantee is a joke
Bought a short trip voucher. Tried to make the booking as per the instructions on the voucher. Kept getting palmed off by the supplier who said they’d call me back. They didn’t, and so I informed 5pm that I was cancelling within the statutory 14 day period. Now I’m being messed around by them. No booking and no refund. Looks like I’ve been scammed.
EDIT 5pm replied to this review looking for more info. Their “customer service” team (who you can’t phone, only send whatsapp messages to) know all about this already and are either utterly useless, on in on the scam, and I am not giving any personal info on here. I’ll be taking legal action now to recover my payment which is being unlawfully withheld.
