Disappointed with delivery and product

Delivery manager called to say my wardrobes could not be delivered as the loading bay outside my place was full, so the lorry had driven off. I saw the lorry pull into a road nearby so managed to persuade the person on phone to call them and make the drop but only after several attempts. The guy that delivered it was great. But one of the flat packed wardrobes came in damaged packaging, and inside the wardrobe has a scuffed edge and is missing the necessary bag of screws etc: it may have been a return from another customer but wasn’t checked before it was sent to me. I decided to keep it as need to assemble it asap but was told missing kit would take a week to arrive. Again, I argued this wasn’t acceptable and so they said it would arrive in 2-3 days. I’ve been refunded £6.95 delivery charge so far, and was promised £30 would be refunded as a gesture of good will. This arrived as a gift card to use on Argos brands.

Hello there. I am sorry that your wardrobe was damaged on delivery. However, I read many positives in your review here. The drivers did make the delivery in what seems to have been difficult circumstances and any issues arising with missing parts have been taken on board and rectified for you. I hope that your missing fixings pack arrives punctually and you are able to construct your wardrobes as soon as possible.

The worst courier

Delivery was attempted I was told. I waited in all day. No delivery. The photo of attempted delivery is a blank square. Chatbot customer service is no help.

Poor function for Bellhop that cost £245

Bought a Flos bellhop from The Conran Shop which stopped working after 2years when out of warranty. It cost around £245. There is no easy fix and an electrical repair shop say it would cost almost the same to get the parts to replace. Flos customer service just replied that out of warranty means they are not responsible any more. This is poor design and poor function for an item at this price point. I can see many other people have had a similar experience so why don’t Flos try to fix the issue and compensate customers? Reply posted by Flos below is completely meaningless and unhelpful.

128882 order number. I requested a refund on 3 July and was told to expect it in 14 days. No refund received. When I followed up I was asked to wait 4 more days. No refund received. sam at nextday catering dot co dot uk is now not replying to emails. I am owed £329.

Faulty product has not been refunded or replaced

I bought a sink through Debenhams. It is faulty. Both my kitchen fitter and plumber say it is too short and missing correct fittings. I sent all the information requested by service at living and home including photos and codes. It’s been going on for weeks and I have not been refunded and a replacement has not been sent. This is delaying my kitchen renovation significantly.
Customer services has not responded. I have contacted both customer service at living and home and Debenhams and no reply from either. Order Number: DUX041225850

Disappointed

Inefficient and disappointing. I ordered a shower enclosure months ago and the delivery date changed 3 + times. When it finally came into stock the customer service rep couldn't organise next day delivery despite having changed the date so many times. Worth noting that Plumbnation has the same stock - I think there is a connection between the two companies and I have not been impressed by either of them - Plumbnation CS called me a few times without checking their notes until they had me on the phone...Carry On Plumbing. I bought a similar (but more expensive) enclosure from a company who allowed next day delivery.

Brilliant customer service

Friendly, kind and efficient people answer the phone, allow named day delivery, good pricing and stock selection. Has made my house renovation easier. I wouldn’t order anything again from any of its competitors who have let me down. The loyalty scheme is worth the fee too. Posting this before items are delivered and installed - will come back when order is complete but so far so good, I’ve been so impressed by all dealings with AO 😀

Frustrating and inefficient

One order, three deliveries, all kerbside. No option to add named day delivery at checkout. Impossible for customers to contact by phone and it takes at least two days for emails to be answered. The person who phoned me eventually was polite and reassuring but now I realise they didn’t coordinate with the courier. I asked for two deliveries to arrive at same time on same day, was told this should be possible and booked someone to help with heavy goods. But then it was handed over to Palletways without coordinating and now I’ve got to book two more dates and people to help. Customer service ask you to mention them by name on these reviews but I won’t name and shame as perhaps it’s VP’s system at fault not individuals.

Poor communication

Very poor communication from the first phone call to place order to updates about delivery. I got mixed messages from different people. A £10 voucher was sent but no note included on email to say this was in recognition of poor service. My spend was almost £2k. Disappointing all round and has added to renovation stress. I asked if I could buy all items at once but delay delivery of two items until June and this was agreed. But delivery was attempted yesterday (May). I have had a very negative experience and dealt with too many people in customer service who don’t seem to communicate with each other. I have now replied to the comment here from customer service with my order number as requested.

Read the small print

£1.95 for instant access to results is far more prominently flagged on the site than the £24.95 EVERY 4 WEEKS fee which was taken for several months before I noticed it being charged to my Amex account. I asked for full refund but initial reply was that no account was registered with my email. However they then said I HAD signed up with my email and refunded 2 months only. I can’t see the purchase confirmation in my inbox or junk folder. Other reviewers here have fallen into same trap so it’s clear that BlossomUp are aware of this issue. The reply from BlossomUp below is meaningless.

Membership perks tricky to navigate

I have been a member for several years but have now cancelled as the membership ‘perks’ are very limited, requiring minimum spend in order to use the discounts. I had nearly 5000 points but these were virtually useless. I would rejoin if loyalty was genuinely rewarded.

For the money off rewards, there is indeed a minimum spend we'd suggest using this when your placing a higher value order. We always advise that if your looking to place a lower value order to use the points for product reward, for this reward there isn't a minimum spend all you need to do is purchase one item!
