I bought an eSIM card that works both for Australia and New Zealand, which was the easiest option during my trip. The data connections worked well a few minutes after I arrived in both countries.
The Nomad App is easy to follow the use of data.
Good price compared to other eSIM if you have a reduction code.

We rented two cars with Cross Country, one in the South Island and one in the North Island of New Zealand. I can say that both experiences were excellent with Cross Country !

Both cars were super clean and exactly like the descriptions. We were also surprised that the cars were well equipped (GPS, line detectors, phone connection, etc...) which is not that common in rented cars that have usually the minimal equipment.

The staff was great, pick up and drop off at the airport was quick and comfortable (but you need to call them, which is not that easy when you do not have a NZ phone number). The employees took the time with us to explain the cars, and sent us all the pictures of the car for previous scratches as well as the documents proving that the cars were well checked (oil level, wheels, water liquid...) which was quite reassuring to us.
The amount deposit is only 200 NZD, and was reimbursed immediately the day after we dropped off the car.

Also, they will not force you to take the more expensive insurance at the contrary of other rental companies if you do not want to. And they will not charge you for small scratches on the cars caused by "normal use" of the vehicle. Be aware that in NZ, you will receive lots of gravel...

I totally recommend this company for NZ.
