Efficient, documents sent promptly. Easy to use online account, good value for comprehensive motor cover with lots of extras included in premium, which others expect you to pay extra for.

Was cheapest on car insurance

Money superpermarket found me the cheapest car insurance from four other providers I tried. The insurance offers all the same benefits as my current provider at £50 less. Several other comparison sites had, in my opinion, poor offers with not even windscreen cover being offered but paying extra for it. Great service and I get a £15 reward gift.

Great dog food, some issues with website

My dog loves their food. Races to kitchen when he hears his bowl being picked up and when he's finished he keeps licking the bowl over and over. I've given 4 stars because there is clearly an issue with their website. When I first placed order and set up account, it acknowledged it all, but I was alerted to problem when it would not let me log in even though I'd set password etc. So had to phone and it took ages for customer advisor to find my details and it then had to be put through at their end. Today I went into account and added my second dog, placed order for her and same problem. Acknowledged the order but none of her details showing on my account. Had to phone and get it done on phone. Very annoying, time consuming and cost of phone calls. Tried to do it through live chat but gave up because of long wait. Since posting have received personal apology via email and am impressed. Should've said their customer service is friendly and helpful, the food is all measured out and very easy to prepare so all credit to them.

Greedy, uncaring and arrogant

Relieved to see some of the reviews here which mirror exactly my own experience with this awful company. My account has consistently been in credit for more than a year and now being told that I must increase my direct debit by another £25 p.m. while they are holding several hundred pounds of my money in credit which they refuse to refund. When asking for justification they say it is "anticipated future usage." They obviously have a crystal ball! Have phoned 3 times, long waits on phone. Asked to escalate to a manager like it says on the bill if problem cannot be resolved. Adviser did every thing to block my speaking to a manager, then gave in when I asked for her name and said that it would be included in complaint to the Consumer Water Council. Put me on hold another 10 minutes then told me no manager available but will book callback for next day. I am still waiting for a call from a manager. Appalling company. Arrogant, uncaring and greedy. I have now cancelled my direct debit and complained by email, telling them that they either return my credit balance and I will pay as billed or they can run down the credit balance. I will no longer pay by DD as they are simply accruing my money in their little greed pot! I have also opened a complaint file with the Consumer Water Council.

Seller Beware of these People

I dealt with these con artists last year shortly after my husband passed away and had a huge clear out. I'm leaving this review now because I'm sick of seeing their ads on TV and hearing on radio. I sent them a huge box. It was so heavy with items that the courier who was a large tall man had some difficulty lifting the box. It was packed with cameras, brass ornaments, silver cutlery, silver jewellery, fountain pens,pewter mug, watches and much more, all the things they ask for, as I checked and even phoned them to see what they would take before packing. I was shocked to get an offer of less than £200. They say postage is free but I suspect that they deduct the cost from what they give you. They also claim to pay within 24 hours. Not so. I had to phone twice to find out why I had not been paid. Their excuse was that there were so many different items that the money was coming from different sections of their business. Really? I really would think very carefully before using these people.

Misleading and inaccurate information

Truly awful company. Second bad experience with them. First with pet insurance. Complaint upheld.Should have known better. Purchased home insurance through Go Compare. Price on there £208.54 plus £19 for legal expenses cover total, £227.54. Bank statement shows they took £238 37. Phoned them and they said that £238 is the price at their end. Refused to take any responsibility that it is their job to ensure that what is being advertised on a comparison website is accurate. They just couldn't grasp that concept. I cancelled the policy immediately. I refuse to trade with someone I feel is untrustworthy. Ever ready to pass the buck. They are choosing to advertise on a comparison website but think that they have no responsibility at all to check whether info on there is correct and they have the nerve to tell the customer to check their details are correct or they won't pay out!

Very courteous and helpful staff. Recently took our AXA breakdown cover and phoned twice because of minor queries. Phone answered promptly and both times, adviser was helpful, respectful and courteous. Let's hope breakdown service, hope I don't need it but if I do, will be just as good.

Courteous and considerate delivery…

Delivered bang on time and driver was particularly helpful. He'd got back in his van but when he saw who had come to the door he got out again and offered to carry the parcel into garage, being a sack of dog food it was very heavy. That was thoughtful and kind, something you don't always get these days.

Overall a satisfactory experience

Specsavers are fairly thorough. Was very impressed with the optometrist who examined my eyes. Gave me a lot of info and advice about my eyes. Purchased a nice pair of prescription sunglasses. Did feel however that other staff could have discussed the 2 for 1 offer which they did not. Also felt staff under pressure and not as friendly as they could be. Service with a smile goes a long way.

Good value, easy to purchase

Very easy to purchase. Clear details and access to the terms of the policy. Also a small discount if you are a Nectar card holder. There will be exclusions for any previous conditions or illnesses even if these are not ongoing. That's life as all pet insurers are doing it. Overall good value and ease of purchase.

Not impressed and would not recommend…

Took out pet insurance with them for my male golden retriever. Paid whole annual premium upfront. Gave them every info about my dog and his health, including details of current vet surgery and past surgeries since we moved house. He has NO ongoing medical conditions. Two weeks after policy started and cooling off period ended I get a letter saying that there are two exclusions. One is for skin problems all because he got stung by something in September last year and had acute itching which cleared after 36 hours requiring absolutely no further action or care. A one off is classed by them as skin problems. I appealed against this and their underwriting team was supposed to call me back within 5 working days which they have failed to do. Have made it clear that if they insist on the exclusion I will cancel and get my money back. Not my fault that they quick to take my money accept my application and then notify me after the cooling off period has passed. Unimpressive, unfair and unlikely to stay with them. Would not recommend. Give you an umbrella when sun is shining and take it away when it starts raining.

Another large company with rubbish service…

Another large company promising great service which is anything but. Tried to switch broadband and landline to them. Partial enquiry filled by me online. One of their sales team phones me to progress it. Confirms package by email and offers to set it all up. I reply back saying fine let's do it and he doesn't follow through. Email him again. No response. Phone customer service and speak to woman who keeps talking over me and then tells me that she can't grasp all of it and I should stop talking. After giving her all my details she ends call by calling me by someone else's name. Obviously gained her skills at the BT school of charm.In the distant past we moved phone from them because of poor service. Nice to see that over time nothing has changed. I've had a narrow escape. Bargepole and wouldn't touch springs to mind.

A lesson in sheer incompetence

Signed up on 3rd March to move to their home broadband. 4th March 4 emails from them confirming order, telling me to log in online, account ready to go. Tried to log in, wouldn't let me,told to try again later. Tried again on 7th after getting text telling me to check that DD set up correctly. No joy. Phoned customer service, given another temporary password, no joy. Phoned again told this time that account won't log until broadband is activated, yet Vodafone is sending me emails telling me to log in now. Final straw came when I got text 7th pm saying that my order has been cancelled. Phoned them for 3rd time that day and after nearly 40 minutes customer advisor still unable to tell me what's going on. Put on hold 3 times while he tried to speak to other departments and at end no further forward. When I then said that I wished to complain he didn't seem to know how or where. He then asked me to hold yet again so he could check. At this point I lost my patience, told him not to bother to try and find out what had gone wrong as I could never stay with such an incompetent company and to let the order stay cancelled. Absolutely appalling. And on their website they say switching to them couldn't be easier. They should sell fiction instead as they sure are good at writing it. Think twice before switching to this utterly useless company. Since writing this I have been contacted by their complaints department in less than 24 hours with an abject apology and offer of monetary redress to compensate for all the inconvenience caused so credit to them on that score. Great pity it went so wrong as I really wanted to switch to them but now lacking confidence in case it all goes wrong again.

A very refreshing company that actually provides excellent customer service. They answer their phones and email a reply in less than 2 hours if you contact them. Latest query on my bill to Georgia who replied v promptly and I realised that I had made a mistake, not them. Shell did me a favour in migrating all their customers to Octopus.

Good company. Spoke to customer service before ordering as I had queries and young man on phone very helpful, answered all questions. Also phone answered quite quickly unlike some companies I could mention. They also took my old fridge away, something not all electrical retailers do. Would recommend.

A very impressive company

Really terrific service. Very impressive company. Pack sent to me within 48 hours, I posted back on weekend and by Monday 11 am received offer which I believed to be fair and by lunchtime money was in my bank account. Not only that, but I sent 2 watches which I thought may be gold but was not sure. They weren't and the company just returned the said items to me without fuss or delay. Would not hesitate to recommend.
