Seller didn't deliver the quantity I…

Seller didn't deliver the quantity I ordered, only the number of noodles that could fit into a box.
Seller thinks in terms of box sizes, and not customer satisfaction despite paying nearly £10 for delivery!

We transacted, I specified the amount of noodles I wanted, and you decided to amend the amount and refunded me the difference because you didn't want to pay extra for a bigger box to fit in two noodles which I paid for.
Did you care to ask me if I wanted to progress with the order since you made a material change to our contract? No, you proceeded with the order and sent me 18 out of 20. Did I ask for 18? Did I pay for just 18? I paid for 20 boxes of noodles.

Cora, how do you expect this review to make you look? What does this behaviour suggest about how you do business?

I sent an email to the seller asking them why they refunded the difference - Cora explained they only had 18. So why did you let me order more than 18?

Dear Megumi-Mukesh,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for supporting our small business. We truly value every order we receive and completely understand your disappointment regarding the missing items.
As a small independent shop with limited stock, there are occasions when our inventory doesn’t perfectly reflect what’s available in real time. We do our best to keep everything accurate, but sometimes items sell out quickly or go out of stock just as we’re preparing an order. In your case, we had 18 packs available and issued a refund for the two missing items before your order was dispatched.
I’m very sorry that I didn’t respond to your email sooner — it seems it may not have reached me and could have ended up in my junk folder. Regarding the refund, each pack was £1.50, so the £3 refund for the two items is correct.
Just to clarify, your shipping charge wasn’t affected by the missing packs, as the parcel size and weight remained within the same category. The delivery cost of £9.95 was automatically calculated by our system based on the total parcel weight (18 packs of 5 noodles — 90 packets in total) and the delivery area via DPD. For lighter parcels, our rates start from £3.95 with Royal Mail or £5.50 with DPD for items under 5kg.
We completely understand how frustrating this situation can be. Even large retailers such as Tesco or Sainsbury’s occasionally face similar stock issues — something you might also have experienced with delivery services like Deliveroo or Uber Eats. We hope this helps to put our situation as a small local business into perspective.
Once again, we’re truly sorry for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding and continued support. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch (info@thesecretasia.co.uk) — we’re always happy to help.

Best wishes,
The Secret

Transport planner refused to upgrade delivery with 10 days left

Order number : 273106
Ticker number: t150460-730-5061

I need to rearrange my delivery which was originally the week commencing 4 October, to arrive on Monday 28 October but DIY Kitchen have told me it's too late for them to rearrange when they have at least 10 days to make the delivery happen, as a result, I can't plan when to book in a kitchen fitter and it's having a knock-on affect on my renovation project.

I spoke to Kirstie in their aftersales team to request a delivery date for Monday 28 October. Kirstie told me she would speak to the transport planner to workout if we can make sure the delivery arrives by 28 October even if this involves upgrading the delivery to platinum. Just received a reply from her to say that the transport planner has decided - with 10 days - before the delivery, it would be completely impossible to ensure I received the delivery on 28 October, this is a joke.

No explanation was given as to why it would be impossible. Transport planner is incapable of planning flexibly around this request - for this reason I'm giving them a one star.

I need to plan ahead and you're not giving me advance noticed.

Hi Megumi,

Sorry to hear about this but your order would have already been put into the production schedule for manufacturing and delivery. There is an option when placing orders to not specify a delivery date until a W/C date can be committed to. Sorry that the sales team could not help you any further on this.

Kind regards,

The DIY Kitchens Team

Review of Electrical Showroom

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Incompetent. Sent wrong product and lied about delivery of other item

Regarding order number: #100073673

I ordered 2 wired NEST smoke alarms and a NEST thermostat. The electrical showroom failed to deliver the thermostat and sent me the wrong alarms (battery-powered), which need to be returned for either the correct ones or a full refund. Check with John Lewis if they can price-match as that is what I plan to do.

A member of their team called me after placing the order to let me know they're waiting for stock of the thermostat and will receive it in several days and will either send it the following day, with next day delivery. This hasn't happened yet, so I don't know when I will receive it. This is causing a delay with my house renovation project as I can't plan when to book a plumber or electrician to install the smoke alarms and thermostat.

They've so far demonstrated to be incompetent on 2 counts, they can't read and check if the difference between battery-powered or wired, and they knowingly accepted my order when they don't have stock and have lied to me about delivering it.
