Review of millnorway.com
Heater seems to be really good quality but it’s sold and advertised with matter support… and there’s no support in the iOS app for matter. Such a shame. I feel like they missold this to me. Their support has been useless so far too, telling me to uninstall and reinstall the app. When i did… but it made no difference. Maybe it’ll work on android… who knows.
Review of WLOOM
TLDR: Sham company, poor products. Don’t buy and if your stuck with Patrick… do a chargeback to get your money back.
Noisy and just stay in one spot on most floors. Cats are more scared of it than interested. The guarantee is a lie and they will ask you questions… and wont offer a refund unless you post it back to them in America. I’ve issued a chargeback in my credit card for goods not as described. Don’t waste your time with these products. They’re no good.
Review of Herschel Infrared Ltd
The Select Portable Infrared Heater 500W is a mixed bag. Here’s my experience:
Pros:
• Easy Setup: Setting up the heater was straightforward and relatively quick. All the components were easy to figure out.
Cons:
• Poorly Designed Feet Attachment: The feet attach with screws, but oddly, there’s nothing substantial for the screws to secure into. It feels like an oversight and gives the impression of poor design.
• Limited Smart Home Integration: The heater doesn’t support Apple HomeKit, which was a significant drawback for my setup. I planned to use an Eve smart plug to control the unit, but the heater’s default behaviour rendered this ineffective.
• Inflexible Default Settings: Whenever the unit powers on, it defaults to 37°C. This setting is far too warm and energy-intensive for routine use. It’s frustrating because it limits the practicality of using external smart devices to automate it.
Update: After some trial and error, I discovered a workaround. By creating an automation in the smart life app, I set the app to automatically switch to schedule mode whenever the heater is set to 37°C (the default when it turns on).
So, there is a way to make it default to a schedule, but it’s disappointing that Herschel’s own support team didn’t know about this feature.
Overall Impression (after two days):
This heater’s premise as an eco-friendly, energy-saving heat panel is undermined by its insistence on defaulting to the highest temperature setting. That’s counterintuitive for a product marketed as efficient.
While the heater functions well in basic terms, its lack of true smart home readiness and the glaring issues with its “smart” features make it hard to recommend. A future version with HomeKit or Matter standard support could vastly improve its usability and appeal.
If you’re willing to work through some quirks, the automation workaround does make the heater more usable. However, if you’re looking for a truly seamless and eco-conscious heating solution, there are likely better options out there.

Review of Simply Plastics
Really great. I’ve used them about five times over the last few years. Prices are really reasonable always come well packed. I did a larger custom job recently with some tricky angles and they cut it all exactly as I needed from my drawings. Great company and great products. I only wish they offered more recycled plastic options (than just white)
Review of BOXT
My experience was very bad. I took out their servicing agreement. My boiler was working fine before that. Their engineer came to service it. He didn’t check for any leaks.. didn’t check the pressure and required the thermostat incorrectly so that the heating didn’t work.
When I asked him (via boxt) to come back and look he said I needed a whole new boiler.
I’ve since switched to hometree. Their engineer came to check it over… said it’s fine and checked the thermostat wires as well as any leaks. They’ve told me it does need a strip down and clean but a whole new boiler is excessive.
Seems like boxt engineers are just employed to sell you a whole new boiler for 3k vs and actual engineer who will do a proper check up.
A shame and a mess.

Absolute cowboys. Trading on reviews from a dissolved company. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS
At first they seemed pretty good. Patrick is personable and helpful. The issue is… he’s not on the job, only shows up for payment. Very non-responsive on messages (tried to get nothing in writing). All we needed as a new gutter, facia board and down-pipe. In the end they overcharged us and it took a week to do the work, which was done so poorly the gutter pipes leaked and the facia board was left hanging off and our property was damaged. The materials they used also weren’t fit for purpose, they cut corners wherever they could. Patrick ignored our concerns over the quality of his teams work throughout the process.
This minor job also damaged the whole rear roof of our property leading to £5000 worth of roof replacement by a reputable firm.
We’ve asked Patrick for some money back but he’s ignored us. Having sought legal advice our next stage is to take them to small claims court.
Don’t go near Old English (or Olde English - the other company that they shut down last year before starting this one up). You’ll be ripped off and left in a worse state than when you started.

Really bad. Phones listed on site that they don’t have in stock. When the phone arrives it’s in poor condition not “very good” has dents and paint chips and has a poor quality third party replacement screen on it that’s not even fitted properly sticks out at the front and moves when you touch the screen.
I’m now being forced to wait two working days to cancel the contract and they tried to say my only option was to use their seven day warranty.
For all the hype and regulation around lending I’m shook that this company can keep operating.
Update… It gets WORSE!
They’ve now reached out to me offering a £20 voucher on the condition I remove my review. So they now offer bribes too. Wild for a financial services registered company to have these practices. They are truly… truly awful.

So far really unimpressed.
I ordered an iPhone in very good condition from them. It said next day delivery.
Then I get an email saying they don’t have that colour. So o change to a different colour. Not great but… ok I’ll deal with it.
Now the “very good” phone has arrived with a really poor quality third party screen installed in it. The screen sticks out at the front, the colours are all off. It wobbles when you press on it and when you swipe up to unlock the phone you feel your skin physically scraped by the edge of this poor third party part.
The phone also had visible dents and marks on it.
Hardly “very good” by anyone’s standards and really puts their 70 checkpoint thing to shame.
I went on the site to try and find a way to request a replacement but they don’t make that part easy so I’ve emailed them instead.
I’m giving them one more chance to send me out another phone and replace this but… so far I’m really disappointed. Especially as they have so many good reviews.

Review of first direct
Such a terrible app. Try making a regular payment to an existing payee… nope… gotta set them up again as a new payee. Want to open another account… nope.. go to the website. Want to log in on another device… nope… generate a code using the app on your phone… got a new phone and want to move the app across… nope… no can do.
It’s like first direct has got a load of random teams who don’t talk to each other to stick together Frankenstein’s finance app. The only good thing about this company is their support team.. but even then they give conflicting and incorrect information when I’ve called them.
What a mess of a bank. Don’t believe the hype, this is Frankensteins monster app.

Seriously underwhelmed.
There’s a lot of marketing gone into this… the brand is strong but… really these are just run of the mill alternate refills. I’d recommend SMOL over this.
I bought the dishwasher tablets - unsciented and they work fine but the lack of scent is a bit meh
Laundry sheets - they work great and smell pretty good
Toilet de scale things - it doesn't work don’t bother
Surface spray - again no smell so kinda meh.
And it all came seriously over packaged in a box 3 to 4 times bigger than it needed to be.
The products are… good mostly and maybe it’s on me because I chose un scented options. But… it really feels like I paid over the odds for a standard experience. I won’t bother with them in future.

There’s so many fake reviews it’s quite unbelievable. You look at something like dexters estate agents and see that nearly all the comments are written in the same robotic way and yet… trustpilot can’t keep on top of it. I’m sure it’s built into the model to not be trustworthy.

A little hard to contact but great once they were in touch.
Tried their online chat, email, Twitter and I got no replies for two days… then I switched to Instagram and suddenly they started replying via email too. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that this was some kind of bug.
Their products seem clever, high spec and good quality. Samples came fast and I’m excited for my blinds coming.

Review of Monzo
Downhill spiral. What used to be a great bank is stagnating and not really doing anything new. No savings rates of any merit. An expensive premium offer. No rewards… no cashback. And an app that’s poorly laid out and confusing to use. Not really any point in monzo anymore.
Review of Climeworks
It’s a great cause and well considered experience. They let me book the gift to arrive for a specific time. Also included the PDF so I could print and give it to them if I wanted.
Also nice that they automatically provided a ranking for my impact. Maybe one day I’ll reach number 1
Review of Ziglu
GPB boost account is great. No where else is giving 5% interest on money at the moment. I do think they should offer payments wallets so other coins can be paid in and potentially some form of protection / guarantee for deposits.

Review of Monzo
Used to be great. But these days it’s a cluttered mess and is really hard to use. I can never find things when I want them. I get lost trying to do basic things. It feels like monzo lost its way about two years ago and has just turned into a normal, boring and hard to use bank.
Review of Revolut
Hard to use app, confusing and full. There’s so much stuff moving around. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a bank… they don’t have a banking licence and they don’t offer FSCS protection. This isn’t a bank. Your money isn’t protected and it’s really a horrible app.

Review of Smyle
Great, fresh and sustainable. They’re really good and I’ve switched from using Colgate and sensodyne to using these full time. I tried out PARLA tabs too but found it frustrating that they didn’t foam at all. I prefer the taste of these too. Very impressed with this formulation and the quality of this toothpaste alternative.
