None better.

I have a garden with sheds, trellises, and garden furniture that I've painted with Red Cedar preservative bought from Wood Finishes Direct for many years.
Prices are very competitive, and the products they sell are excellent with very prompt delivery.
I have no hesitation in recommending them.

I haven't changed my glasses for 3…

I haven't changed my glasses for 3 years because the prescription had only changed by a small amount.
However, at my last eye test, the Specsavers optician suggested I could benefit from having prescription sunglasses for use in very bright sunlight and an anti-glare coating on a second pair for normal use, but also to stop being dazzled when driving at night.
The anti-glare coating is very effective both in daylight and when driving at night. I haven't had to use the sunglasses as every day since collecting them has been overcast.

Review of National Shower Spares

Get a genuine shower hose and not one that claims to be universal.

The hose on my Mira Advance shower, which is designed specifically for the disabled, split where it feeds the shower head. It is essential to order the correct replacement, not one that claims to be universal, as it will not stay in the holder clamp. I was recommended to order from National Shower Spares by my plumber, and it fitted perfectly.

Review of Ryobi Tools UK

Finally decided to chanege to Ryobi battery power.

I have had a Ryobi petrol-powered engine unit with several Expandit attachments for many years. Although the attachments all work well, starting the power unit during Winter could be problematic, and so I decided to go electric.
The main attraction being the batteries can be left on the charger unit, and the attachment is instantly ready once the battery is fitted. Always have a second battery on charge, so it means you can carry on when the first one goes flat.

I urgently needed to update my previous Brother printer which had given good service for over 5 years. Printerland offered the Brother MFC-J6955DW, not only at a very competitive price but most importantly with delivery the next day, before 9 am.
They also had very positive reviews on Trustpilot which I can confirm were well deserved.

I recently bought a leather sofa from SCS and was offered a 3 year finance package by V12 Retail Finance Limited, at 0% interest.

The delivery lead time was just over 3 months but the first monthly repayment will not be taken until 4 weeks after delivery.

A high quality tap at a competitive price.

I needed a new kitchen tap with an outlet that was tall enough to allow a bucket to be filled and connected to the supply with flexible hoses that did not unduly restrict water flow. This met my needs and appears to be very good quality.

A high quality corner sofa.

Sofa was a few days late in being delivered but text message told us when to expect it. It came as several component parts so if necessary it could fit through a normal house doorway. The delivery crew were very helpful and assembled it quickly exactly where I asked them to put it and took away all the packing material.

I've been investing with Shawbrook for several years and have held instant access, fixed-rate bonds and cash ISAs at various times. The two most important factors are interest rates, ease of raising queries and straightforward terms and conditions. I expect to be holding an account with them for the foreseeable future.

Currys & Consumer Rights

In May of 2022, I purchased a Hotpoint integral refrigerator from Currys. It replaced a previous unit from a different manufacturer which was still working after 18 years.
I was offered an extended warranty which I declined, preferring instead to rely on consumer legislation. As the unit was more than 6 months old the obligation to prove a manufacturing defect falls upon the customer.
I notified Currys and received a prompt reply from Ian asking me to contact their white goods support team.
The attached “Disclaimer” sought to disown the statements of its employees and was designed to frustrate a claim under consumer rights legislation. In my view it amounted to an “unfair contract term” and abrogation of “vicarious liability”.
I followed Ian’s instructions and was connected to Whirpool who arranged for an engineer to visit for £188. I became suspicious when they tried to sell me an extended warranty and emailed Ian querying this.
I received a reply from Shaun which said exactly what Ian had said and so I cancelled my Whirlpool appointment. This time I was connected to Currys white goods department who agreed to refund the money I paid to Whirpool and send an engineer but at the same cost to which I agreed.
There was a 5 minute silence whilst they arranged a date, only to claim no one was available and told me to arrange my own engineer.
Currys frustrated my original arrangements and I have bought a refrigerator elsewhere. Their action appears to be to make it impossible to use consumer rights legislation.

This extension shaft makes branch cutting much safer.

This extension shaft gives the Ryobi power unit greater reach. You can use up to 2 of these extensions which is ideal for cutting high-up tree branches without needing to use a ladder and is therefore a much safer way of doing it. Don't forget to wear a safety helmet as the branches have further to fall.
