I started my Christmas shopping at the…

I started my Christmas shopping at the beginning of November as my husband was expecting a major operation and wanted to get organised. I bought a belt from this company, having purchased one for him before. Events have taken over and my husband will not be able to wear the belt or anything else this company provide due to his medical situation. I asked if I could return it (it is unopened) and their stance is that it’s a 14 day return, with no flexibility particularly over the Christmas period, where other stores usually extend their return policy timelines.

It is incredibly disappointing and upsetting that a company would hold this stance during the Christmas period and under exceptional circumstances.

This rigid and unsympathetic approach fundamentally undermines trust and leaves me with no personal confidence in the company as a retailer, or in its ability to treat customers fairly and reasonably.

As stated in our returns policy, we operate a 14-day return window, which unfortunately does not extend automatically over the Christmas period. While your order was placed in November and therefore several weeks outside the return period, we have offered a credit note or an exchange as a way to assist. We hope this demonstrates that we are willing to help, even when the standard return window has passed.
We understand that this may feel inflexible, especially in exceptional circumstances, and we truly regret any disappointment caused. Our policy is designed to ensure consistency and fairness for all customers, but we always aim to handle individual situations with care. With thanks

So very impressed with Sentinel. We had to cancel because our skiing trip was cancelled due to Coronavirus. No problems with the cancellation and prompt refund. Will definitely use them again next year when we go skiing ⛷

Hi John Lewis In Nottingham used to be An amazing shop. Not now. Customer service nil, and that’s if you can find a store assistant. Went for a pair of shoes, had to wait for a long time for an assistant to serve me, then it was a case of giving them to you and off to the next customer. No, seeing if they fit, look right, a different colour, take a seat madam. After finally trying them on, then had to waiting another 10 minutes to get a box and then pay. It never used to be like this. And come on John Lewis get your act together and provide paper carrier bags like you used to. And no I am not old for remembering when you used to use them. If anyone wants to spend money on shoes, go to an independent retailer where you will Get customer service. Or if you need an outfit, go somewhere where they have time to deal with their customers
