Very disappointing.
I was looking to build a relationship with Youlend, however my application was declined despite earning double the amount 1 year later. I was offered a very modest loan 1 year ago which was all paid off. This time around my business has grown significantly - yet I didn’t even get a conversation to discuss about future lending.
I took funding from YouLend on the basis that it was a receivables-based product, where repayments are tied to actual revenue.
My business operates on 30–60 day terms, so income comes in larger lump sums rather than weekly. This was made clear from the outset.
In practice, however, the experience has been very different.
Communication has been driven by projected weekly repayment figures, with repeated references to arrears and risk of default, even while substantial payments were actively being collected from my account.
Within a short period, over £5,000 was taken via direct debit, with further similar amounts scheduled. That already accounts for roughly 25% of the total balance being cleared, yet the messaging remained unchanged, still framing the account as “behind” and at risk.
There is a clear disconnect between how this product is presented during onboarding and how it is enforced in reality, particularly for businesses with non-linear cash flow.
If your income is steady and predictable, this may align with their model. If your revenue comes in stages or on terms, expect pressure based on projections rather than actual receipts.
That mismatch is the issue.
Great communication from Archie who was very informative and clear with all the options available to my business needs. Would highly recommend.

I could not recommend this service more. We had amazing support from Alex Allen and then Oliver Turner. Both worked with us, communication was great, all questions and concerns were answered. Oliver even helped us with emails our end, offering to talk us through what we needed to do, service above and beyond. I would highly recommend, it was quick, professional and stress free due to constant communication. Thank you

Loansharks. Do not take the eBay/Etsy loans. They tell you they want to “help you grow your business” but they just want to charge you ridiculous fees with massive repayment percentages.
They also make it very fine print that there is a deadline to pay back by. I read the contract 3 times and still didn’t see this.
To add to this, they take your money even when customers get refunds, they just don’t care.
I get a woman chasing me every few months for no reason at all because apparently I’m “not paying back fast enough” despite having massive success on eBay. It’s really quite disgusting.
Avoid at all costs. Never ever again.
Gabriella was extremely helpful!
Very attentive and helped out a lot.
Thanks
