Took several months to get a $1k F1 ticket refund.
Race track said they would refund my GP ticket; many emails later over 4 months and they said the refund had been made...told me to check with my bank. This was not true - there was no refund.
I finally escalated to American Express and they (AmEx) were able to credit my account. After Am Ex's escalation a credit came into my account - 3 - 4 months after they (YSMC) said they executed the credit.
In looking back I do not think Yas Marina Circuit ticket office was being honest with me. It took AmEx's efforts, using all the email documentation I had saved, to get YSMC to execute a proper refund.
