Accommodation we booked was supposed to be deluxe room, it was disgusting we walked in then walked straight back out having to book in somewhere else. We booked through booking. Com and all we’ve got back is £8.71 insulting. We was celebrating my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Stay away from Seabreeze

Rip off parking costing least £10 for 6 hours. There is nothing there to see all shops are pretty pointless and all sell the same overpriced crap. Whitby used to have lots of character but now they have let big brand names move in its lost its appeal. The arcades are rubbish not what they used to be its all such an obvious cash grab now with wall to wall claw machine barely and 2p pushers no cashier or friendly welcome anymore just the noise of the machines no dogs allowed either. Expensive place to visit to not do much.

Terrible and confusing parking…

Terrible and confusing parking conditions for people renting a place for some days. Lucky to find parking within half a mile of where you are staying and then the permit (stupid scratch card) is only valid for a limited time. System that should be altered.

Whitby Holiday Park

Whitby Holiday Park - my Husband and I have stayed at Whitby Holiday Park a few times in the past. However, we were passing through in May 2025 and needed water for our Motorhome. The site was full as it was a Bank Holiday. They refused to allow us to fill our water tank, despite the fact we offered to pay. Truly disgusted in their actions. It's a human right to be allowed water. Shame on you Whitby Holiday Park!

I’m basically don’t get anywhere if there’s a fire in the room God help anybody cause I’ve even screwed the windows shut.

Scammers cheated our daughter in a Whitby car park.

This is a warning about parking in a private car park in Whitby. Our daughter and son-in-law parked in a car park run by Complete Parking Services (CPSUK) Ltd
I then received a notice saying our daughter had no ticket and would be fined 100 pounds or 60 pounds if we paid promptly.Like s fool I posted off a cheque which has been cashed. I did this without checking with our daughter. This is what she told me:Hi Dad, the following is what I wrote in their appeal form:

We parked in the pay and display car park in Whitby and enquired with a passer-by whether or not we have to pay for parking on a Sunday. We were told that yes, we need to pay on Sunday.

We bought a parking ticket for more time than needed and returned to our car well before the time was expired, so we offered the ticket to another driver to use and display until the time would expire. We live overseas.

My Dad received the fine and paid it immediately so that the fine would be reduced."
Our daughter tells the absolute truth so false information led to the fine.Be warned -the appeal was turned down and I am 60 pounds out of pocket. Welcome to Whitby

I also contacted the local and regional councils thinking that if parking rip-offs are common nobody will want to go there and park.
They were not interested as they said the car park involved is private.

It's such a stunning place the only thing I'd say is that it's destroyed by the regatta event rubbish left from the people that come for this event the fair makes the place look very unnatural and unattractive its also extremely loud I couldnt relax on the beach due to the music blasting the only nice thing there for the event was the vintage cars and one vintage stall I think there's better and more peaceful ways to bring money to the area there also needs to be people or groups collecting the litter within the rocks and caves on the beach, also they charge 40p to use the rest room this place isn't about trying to restore its self to any sort of golrey they are not interested in trying to make it a better place for people and nature they seem more interested in ripping people off for money for things people should be entitled for I've never in my life seen anywhere that charges for the rest room and at 40p per person and we where a family of 5 that had to use that toilet around 4 different times plus it wasnt even clean I would never waste my time coming here again the potential I see in this place is beyond amazing but sadly they don't seem interested in heading in that direction

As a Yorkshire born woman

As a Yorkshire born woman, who spent many happy holidays in Whitby as a child with my family and is now living in the South, I feel very sad indeed to have to say I will NEVER visit Whitby again :( Everywhere we went the people serving us didn't not crack a smile once, we were NEVER made to feel welcome in any of the venues, the ignorance of people was beyond belief and the food was more bad than good, in fact it was that bad I thought we must be elsewhere NOT on Yorkshire, where people are renowned for their warm and friendliness, it has saddened me so much it has tarnished my happy memories of this place.

Whitby White Horse and Griffin, for excellent food and great night out

A party of us went to the White Horse and Griffin on church street whitby on the 5th of May 2021 for a family and friends get together the moment we set foot into the bar area we where greeted with a smile and warm welcome, a meal had been book for fourteen of us which is no small task considering that there where many other people at tables, the starters and mains looked and tasted fantastic and hot, which is more than hard for some establishments everyone commented on how the meals where ubove and beyond. Paul looked after us making sure we all got our meals together and what ever drinks were wanted came very promptly he was faultless, very professional and attentive and really needs to be acknowledged if your looking for an excellent night out with exceptional freshly cooked food then the white Horse and Griffin is the place to go.

Avoid this firm !
Received a damaged Utility tool , company refused to initially collect for an exchange then a collection request was ignored leading to legal action. Like the previous reviewer they seem to Completely ignore requests when suits.
They also seem a little aggressive and arrogant in their communications since - and what company these days do not offer courier collections? Strange setup .. avoid them or you may end up having to take legal action like me
