I purchased a singular coin, which took about a month longer to arrive than I initially thought, meaning I wasn't able to give it as the gift I was planning to use it as. I then found out that I had been subscribed to a collector's edition book that I did not want or know about.
The payment fortunately was rejected by my bank but I have since had many very threatening emails and letters, including additional fees and debt collection agencies.
In my efforts to call them, I have always been met with them not being open. I have paid now, but this was very reluctantly. I view the process of providing a service without consent, and then demanding payment, under threat of escalation, as akin to theft. It seems others have had the same issue, where they have subscribed people to something without them knowing.
Westminster collection, this practise of subscribing people by default with an opt-out strategy is immoral and wrong. Do better.
Edit: I will add. They have a standard reply of "We are sorry to hear this, we do not want to inconvenience customers. This was stated within the order receipt..." They have been aware of this for a long time (view older reviews. It seems its every other post), and are not doing anything to remedy it. The word scam comes to mind.

In May 2026 they are not authorized and any order summary/acknowledgement took two transactions in my credit card. But the situation is I have not received any confirmation of an order and I have not order anything. If I don't check my credit card statement weekly and monthly. I never know they made a payment from my credit card un-authorized. Finally, it need me in touch to them solve the problem.

I accepted a special offer of a commemorative coin, which I paid for and duly received. A few weeks later I received and was charged for a coin I had not ordered and did not want. Westminster had ensnared me into a subscription, without my knowledge or consent. I had not signed anything agreeing to a subscription.
When I rang Westminster, the lady was very helpful and sorted the matter quickly and satisfactorily. I will return the coin I did not ask for and really hope my credit card will be credited without my having to take further action to complain again.

I have purchased from these years ago and got fleeced and after a while decided to purchase again thinking things might have got better.so with that in mind I purchased some cheap coins plus postage.stright after I rang them direct and said I don't want any recurring payment at all its a one off payment for what I have purchased literally 50p coins plus PNP. Now they have taken nearly £40 out of my account and I don't know what for as my biggest spend was the £4 postage.

When a delivery arrived without the content, subsequently delivered by our postman, my report was answered with polite thanks.
They also asked that I thank the postmen on their behalf, for locating the missing cards.
A further set of plastic folders to hold the forthcoming cards was also sent.

I did not order this last coin. I made the mistake of not reading the small print. They have been sent back.
I did not give permission for you to take the £33.89 from my bank. I want you to stop sending mail to my address and emails.

I’ve had the same experience and purchased the commemorative coin, not told at any time about subscription, only found out when £28.98 was taken from my account. I have contacted customer service for a refund and am awaiting a response, so for now I am giving them the chance to resolve this, hence two stars not one. Beware to anyone purchasing from them, all is not as it seems.

Very scammy! I bought a Centenary coin for £2.99 nowhere did they mention that I was signing up for a subscription but all of a sudden £28.98 has gone off my card, when I contacted the company to complain I was told to log into my "account" and change my preferences however when I tried to do this my email "is not registered on the system" so apparently I have a subscription but I have no way of stopping it! Scam, Rip off artists, Crooks are all words that come to mind, I will be taking this up with my bank.....

BEWARE! After weeks no sign of FREE commemorative coin. I have, however, been entered into their monthly subscription which I wasn’t aware of! Money already taken from my card! Other reviews with the same problem. Now have all the trouble of contacting them and my bank for a full refund and to make sure no more money is taken. They should make their automatic subscription MUCH CLEARER!

Taking money without proper authority! Apparently there is small print signing people up to a subscription when you order one of their so called free coins. To me this is an absolute scam. Information needs to be clearly stated, not printed so small that people don't notice.

I have read almost every review published and can see that the company take absolutely no notice of what the majority of dissatisfied customers complain of, essentially the SHARP PRACTICE of conning the general public with subscribing to significant product subscriptions without their specific instructions or specific authorization. It is such a SHARP PRACTICE that even the NATIONAL BANKS are complicit in the scam. I recently noticed a ‘pending entry ‘ for £163.33 in my bank account, which after tiresome investigation with my bank and The Westminster Collection, resulted in being told that following the innocent purchase of a £39.00 sovereign that I had signed up to a subscription which caused the pending £163.33 transaction. This is absolute nonsense! I am a pensioner and can not afford the imposition of such action. The government should legislate the such SHARP PRACTICE should be banned in our country, and the banks should have rules to avoid being complicit in this well known scam. I have initiated action to transfer my 60 year association with Lloyds Bank in favour of 1st Direct Bank and hope that they will protect me in the future. I do not want to hear the crocodile response from The Westminster Collection to my post because you can see from the many reviews posted that they have done absolutely nothing to overcome the obvious dissatisfaction of many customers who entered their market in good faith and were knowingly placed in a spiral of difficult and time consuming buyers remorse correspondence . Stay away from these bandits, purchase your coins from a dealer with integrity. The extra few pounds are worth it. Write to your MP’s to get this obvious con stopped. If your bank won’t support you then move banks to those who will.

Excellent Customer Services, I had an issue with one of my subscriptions, they were very helpful and dealt with the query professionally and are always determined to get an answer for you. If they need time to sort it they ask for your email address so they can send you the answers when they have them.
