Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 115 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently expressed deep frustration regarding the poor customer service, noting that representatives were often difficult to understand and completely unable to answer simple questions. Reviewers additionally highlighted ongoing problems with slow online account access, excessively long phone hold times, and unexpected policy changes that severely impacted their prescription drug coverage. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have been attempting to access the web portal for over a month to review my profile information. I have spoken to customer service numerous time and written countless emails to NO avail.
I wrote to the CEO and still have not had a resolution to the issue

HORRIBLE Customer Service

HORRIBLE customer support. It’s an offshore call center that is highly scripted and if what you need is not in the scripted QA then you’re doomed. I have to order a drug from a specialty pharmacy that gets shipped on ice and ZERO agents had any idea how to deal with that. Long hold times to get to someone who has no knowledge nor ability to answer a question or resolve an issue. STAY AWAY if at all possible!! Like many others I’d give zero stars if possible

Really poor and untrained customer service

Really poor and untrained customer service located out of the USA somewhere . the prescription drug plan was renewed on 12/31/23 but now does not cover the drugs I am on and have been for years - no one after 30 minutes on hold could explain the difference or if there was another plan I should switch to - not a good company for anyone to do business with

Just cancelled my Medicare Advantage…

Just cancelled my Medicare Advantage plan out of the blue and did not advise me. When I had to go to the doctor and get prescriptions, I found out. Now, they say it's going to take a week to get reinstated and I ma stuck with paying doctor visits and drugs until they decide to reinstate me. Worst, most incompetent company I ever dealt with. Liars and despicable customer service. Do not get sucked into their great plans.

This insurance through Medicaid is not…

This insurance through Medicaid is not good at all. At first I was glad I finally qualified for Medicaid because my husband and I wouldn’t have to scrape up money for our marketplace insurance anymore, well it isn’t worth saving the money. I am a diabetic and can’t get the things I need and it has caused a lot of anxiety and stress for no reason.

Look for Medicare somewhere else!!!

I have been a member of a Wellcare D-SNP, And I am not happy at all. The gym membership is managed by FitOnapp and I've tried to sign up for various local gyms and haven't been able to successfully join one. The PT's closest to my area are all shady hole in the walls, the only good thing was I was able to keep my PCP. I am DEFINITLY changing Medicare Providers for 2024!!!

I would not give them one star but I…

I would not give them one star but I had to to write this. They offered everyone a gift card when they did their first wellness visit. I had never won anything like that and I thought how nice of them. I didn't care at all how I had to call them three times about the card. I felt like begging for something they had gifted me. On the third time they claimed to have sent it on Oct. 2nd. I checked that mail everyday and all the other mail they sent me came. But it was like they put it all on me for loosing it or throwing it away or something when they never sent it. Allot of people have not gotten the cards they said they were sending. They may eventually send them but I never got it. And they conveniently covered their butts by saying they had already sent it. There are long lines on the BBB of people complaining about this same thing. I say I am sorry and good luck añd I hope they do right by you.

Be warned this is a dishonest company

Be warned this is a dishonest company, with horrible customer service. You know, a company is dishonest and lacks integrity when they make it as difficult as possible to cancel their service....almost impossible. I would look around and be careful before signing up with this insurance company.

Please Beware of enrolling with…

Please Beware of enrolling with WellCare plan administered as stated. WellCare is concern about the bottom line instead of their members. In 07/2023, WellCare stop providing transportation for medical appointments. My appointments are crucial to my recovery because I couldn’t drive and family members used their available time to take me. I’ve escalated through WellCare with no success and no return calls. Then I filed a complaints with Medicare that trigger a call from WellCare just to say they contacted me. In the meantime, I’ve missed over a dozen appointments and physical therapy sessions. Due to WellCare non action, my health and quality of life suffers with limited mobility. WellCare uses enrollment time to lure Medicare recipients to their plan. Once the recipient enrolls, they’ll have to wait until the next year to change. Therefore, if they evaluate their member’s needs during plan year, additional transportation service should be provided. It’s now October 10, 2023 without a resolution and missing life-threatening appointments.

Lousy Company DO NOT USE WELLCARE

EVERYTHING previously written about this company is truth. They have NO English speaking representatives. I'm in my 3rd hour on the phone trying to get an autopay stopped. They don't have any record of the account although they continue to collect the fee. I can no longer access the account online otherwise I would have canceled this garbage of a plan with this garbage of a company. My advice i to RUN. Find another company because this one is only good if you want to pay a bill. They rank at the bottom in ALL aspects from customer service on. Wish I could have given them a 0 rating & even that is too high. My suggestion is to file a complaint with your state insurance commissioner, BBB and anyone else you think might help STOP this joke of a company. I'm on my SIXTH non English speaking agent....from Asia to Phillipines 3 hours and 47 minutes just today! Can you imagine an 88 year old, deaf person trying to deal with Wellcare!!!!

Poorest Customer Service.

I would rate them lower than 1 star but it's not available. I have been on the phone with customer serivce..someone overseas...for 24 minutes plus. I had one request, to get a copy of my prescription authorization to send to the drug manufacturer. The male agent keeps forgetting my name and calling me Robert, Michael, Mark...not giving me much confidence that he can follow through with a simple fax. I will switch prescription providers in October 2023.

Saved them thousands, they won't pay anything

Was prescribed very expensive drug months ago, hated to see ripoff Pharma get paid that much (by anyone), found generic in Canada for 80% less.

Used for several months, finally decided to claim with wellcare crooks. After 2 hours with the Bad-English foreign support:"We won't reimburse drug bought in Canada".

"Is this a US law or are you just using this as an excuse to not pay?" No answer. Twice more w other reps. No answer. "Is is a law or just your choice to refuse?" Dead silence,

They would have had to pay about $8250 for the same drug had I claimed the brand name in US.

I want my out-of pocket cost of $994 but they refuse, even though I saved these jerks over $7,200.

Unethical, reprehensible, greedy.

Long wait times on the phone

Long wait times on the phone. Customer service is in the Philippines, and they don't have a clue. After a long run around, they will transfer you to someone in the USA who will then put you on hold for 30 minutes.

Major PITA, not recommended at all.

Lied to me multiple of times about…

Lied to me multiple of times about being able to pick up my medication today 5/28 but Walgreens states it will NOT go through. I have placed 12 calls to Wellcare about this same situation with no results and I NEED MY MEDICATION!! I have records and call logs for EVERYTHING! Now their closed and not reopen until Tuesday! This fraud and abuse towards their clients who their supposed to be taking care of!! This is like having NO INSURANCE coverage at ALL!! I can't even pay out of pocket for it because they said I have insurance!!! This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of!! Erica who works in prior authorizations at Wellcare KNEW Wellcare would be closed until Tuesday and there would be NO WAY I could call them or have Walgreens call them to verify this so now I'm without my medication and probably will have to be hospitalized due to being out of meds or I'll die of an overdose because I relapsed!! I will be filing a complaint with the insurance commission as soon as I'm done with this!! I have logged, recorded calls and paperwork stating my meds ARE APPROVED but still the pharmacy is unable to fill them and have NO WAY to call Wellcare to verify it because their closed on weekends and the holidays! !! If your looking for an insurance company, DO NOT GET WELLCARE!! This is a WARNING!! They treat their clients like crap and lie all the time!!

Engage WellCare only if you have hours…

Engage WellCare only if you have hours to spend getting a polite runaround.

I am a reasonably informed person. I had surgery, w/ an overnight hospital stay. During the almost two day stay I was handed meds and water by a nurse. I ingested them. Because they were self-administered, neither Medicare nor my supplement would cover them, even tho' the were "prescription meds". I contacted WellCare and spent (no exaggeration) multiple hours on the phone trying to get reimbursed. A form could only be surface mailed, not emailed, which will take 10-14 business days. A put off; buying time. Why it could not be emailed is unknown.

Always a run-around, always wait forever for supervisor. An expectation of WellCare is I must provide a label from a pharmacy for each drug. Really? Good luck getting that info from a hospital. Plus, WellCare demands a copy of the paid receipt. My take is WellCare's operating model is to make things so difficult, long enough, that the member just gives up, swallows paying the hospital bill and moves on out of frustration and wasted effort. I've read other reviews sharing the same difficulty and exasperation. Not reupping again.
