This is the worst prescription plan in Medicare. Horrible customer service. Their website is confusing. You cannot figure out what drugs cost. Even their robot computer that answers the phone is h... See more

Truly Maddening
I hadn’t had my teeth cleaned in 12 years because I couldn’t afford coverage. I have had 3 deep cleanings done on 3 quadrants of my mouth because my X-rays showed buildup and bone loss. WellCare has denied all 3 and seems to be looking for any excuse not to cover it.
At first, they said there was no buildup or bone loss. Right, that’s why I’ve lost two teeth and have several loose ones… Now, they say that my dentist is not in their network. (I found my dentist through WC’s provider search.) AND… they say I’ve already had this procedure done in the last 24 months. I have not been to a dentist until the past few months. As I said, I haven’t had any cleanings done since 2012.
I’ve lost so much sleep over this. I’ll call my dentist’s insurance person on Monday and start there. Then, I’ll call WellCare and start fighting…

Iv called numerous times,iv ask to speak to a English speaking agent, they put me on hold 20 minutes, then disconnect me
Lousy Customer Service
Offshore customer service is difficult to work with and obtain answers to coverage questions and billing. Be prepared to spend one to three hours on the phone and accomplish nothing. Inconsistant drug cost coverages. Have had multiple similar Wellcare customer service experiences.
Terrible Call Centers
In general, the coverage is ok. It is what it is. This low rating is for their call center customer service. The only time I call is towards the end of the year to ask their help to explain the changes in the plans. 99% of the time I get an agent who sounds like they speak English but actually has a difficult time conveying the information because their grasp of the English language is horrible. Most of these call centers are in the Philippines. Wellcare really needs to train their agents properly so they can communicate properly.
My insurance was hacked
My insurance was hacked. AARP sent notice with 2 yrs identity theft monitoring. In March my prescriptions were hacked. Now? WellCare doctors have refused to pay for my prescription prescribed by my primary. Told me today he hadn’t met criteria to prove I need it! When did insurance companies get the right to prescribe? My primary is who I trust. I am grateful they have covered my ablations and tests. Allergy Meds aren’t that expensive. WellCare isn’t even accepted by many physicians. It’s been difficult since records hacked for ransom I refused to pay now that insurance companies have the right to decide who lives or dies!
I have been using Symbicort inhaler for…
I have been using Symbicort inhaler for years - asthma & allergy congestion. Suddenly, Wellcare refused to refill! My doctor submitted the information for my need but they still refused!
Because I need it I asked how much for me to purchase it - something like $500 !! (Give or take).
There are alternatives but they are not as effective and their cost for me would be $60 - $100.
The manufacturer and/or others appear to be charging an unfair amount. I'm still seeking a solution.
DO NOT buy from this company!!
DO NOT buy from this company!!! Effective 1/1/25 they are cancelling contracts with all their hard working agents and not paying commissions on existing and new business. Outright THIEVES! Stay away from these people.
I can only speak to Wellcare's Medicare…
I can only speak to Wellcare's Medicare Part D coverage, as that is all I know of them, so far. I received a thorough and easily understood report of everything to do with my coverage once a month by mail. Other than that, I had no interaction with Wellcare and there were no problems with getting my prescriptions refilled at a very low co-pay. Based on this experience, I am considering switching to Wellcare's Dual Complete SNP plan from the horrible SNP I just started with United Healthcare.
BIG LIE
Even one star is too much. It is a big lie. Long processes. Initial approval and then services get denied. I have patients waiting for a simple CT scan for months. Records are being sent and they keep denying and denying. Literally last denial came through because "records were not legible"!
I work in an underserved area. Wellcare got so many business with making numerous promises to the patients. It is a human tragedy. Very sad. Very disgraceful.
Terrible customer support
Had a prescription denied as 'not covered' by Wellcare. Called their customer support. Spoke with a person offshore who barely could communicate in English. She looked up an alternative and what she found was not even remotely an alternative option. My recommendation is to avoid Wellcare.
Zero Stars
Zero Stars. The parent company for Wellcare is a conglomerate for-profit corporation with a system in place where everyone who is enrolled runs in circles to complete unreasonable tasks, such as a 72-hour turnaround time for your doctor to review and return a prior authorization. If you don't meet that, then you get "timed out" and have to start the whole process all over again. You sit on hold for two hours every time you call...only to find out that coverage for BASELINE RX is denied. I have been in touch with Wellcare for four months to get ONE prior authorization through their pipeline before I run out of medicine. I am a healthy person. I don't know what it would be like for people who have multiple medications. This is set up for their parent company to report profits to shareholders and has nothing to do with healthcare. They have a "Help Desk" which is like something out of George Orwell's 1984. The help desk puts you on hold and runs you in circles until you give up and pay out of pocket. That is Wellcare's bottom-line goal. I didn't know about Trust Pilot when I signed up for this horrendous company, but now reading the reviews I see I am not alone. They have no contact/help number or email for the company and neither to their supervisors, so no accountability. No way to get questions answered, beyond the Help Desk, which is a dead end. This should be illegal.
Website contains extremely outdated and useless information.
I went to the website to log on. The entry process drop me off at 4 other sites, none of which allowed me to logon. Forty-five minutes later, customer service enabled me to logon. Subsequently I learned my assigned doctor retired LAST YEAR. Better? The entire medical group no longer accepts WellCare, for two years now.
In summary, the website contains extremely outdated and useless information.
If I could give less I would
If I could give less I would. This company cancelled my Rx plan saying I did not pay. I have all the receipts and they refuse to reinstate. Now I will be charged an extra year penalty for not having a Rx plan.
When you call you cannot understand the people who speak very broken Englisgy
DO NOT ENGAGED THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING
Worse customer service ever
Worse customer service ever. They give you a standard response no matter what the question is, they never have a direct answer and every phone call takes atleast 20-30 minutes and you will still not have an answer. They pride themselves on delaying patient care I think.
the Ultimate Worse I ever had
Social Security changed to Wellcare for my prescriptions. 4 out of 5 are not covered. Worst coverage I have ever had in 6 years. they sent me a letter approving one temporarily and said from now on I have to pay for it.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Transferred offshore to poorly trained agents, with poor phone lines and inadequate proficiency in English. Would advise against using this company for prescription needs.
Terrible costumer service long holds to…
Terrible costumer service long holds to speak with someone that does not speak good enough English to understand. I will change as soon as possible.

Don't get fooled by this company they…
Don't get fooled by this company they paint a pretty picture but when it comes down to it it's literally near impossible to get any of the benefits that they offer because they implement these fine print. For instance I says on my plan that I can get one deep Dental cleaning And 2 regular dental cleanings. They denied my dental cleanings and I need 2 I have a broken tooth because I fell and there denying my They denied my Surgery to remove my wisdom tooth that's growing sideways Because of it the dentist had to pull out a perfectly fine tooth because they didn't want to approve my surgery for my wisdom too. Don't get full they say they'll give you this and they'll give you that but in order to actually really get it you don't it's a hype don't fall for it do not get from this company it's awful look at the reviews they have horrible reviews horrible customer service and they gave my information to people overseas so now my identity has been compromised because they'll share your information with anybody China And the Philippines and who knows what how many other overseas countries they're releasing our information too so just be aware your identity will be compromised as mine was no now some other country has all my information and loan behold my stuff got hacked all the way to my bank card do not use this company save yourself the headache go somewhere else They don't give you everything they say they're going to they paint a pretty picture but they don't follow through though deny everything you try to get and then they tried to cut me off twice and medicare had to set them straight. Because I filed grievance after grievance after grievance and then the grievances they let the Filipinos handle their grievances. And if you put any grievances in on them they'll We'll retaliate and find a way to bump you off Program which is everything is run by medicare and this company is it it's a hype it's it's a joke
The worst of the worst.
I can't give less than a 1 star but I would if I could. Do not use this company for your Part D needs. They are dangerous-like mistakes in surgery dangerous. Wellcare is not competent. They quite simply do not care. I see by the other reviews there are investigations into Well Care for Medicare fraud. Google it.
